  1. I'll post another thread about the new possible flying vehicle in Halo 5, the Light-Assault VTOL.
  2. Let me reiterate my thoughts. Not having Cortana in a Halo game would kind of suck. Sure, there are Reach and ODST, but there are companions in those games. The top candidates for Master Chief's buddy are the Arbiter and Spartan Thorne, whom we see rising up in Spops S1. I'm not saying that Cortana would have a gigantic role in Halo 5; the whole "save the princess" story has been told way too many times in science fiction than I would prefer, Halo 3 included. But again, not having her would really suck; bringing her back would make Halo 4's story pointless. I think that it would really help to develop Chief's character if she were there, just different. Also, it would be a bit dumb if the story only dealt with the Prometheans or the Storm or Arby--it's been done before. There are only so many unique stories that can come out of a universe like Halo's, and I believe this one would be totally...wicked.
  3. I would love to play as Elites again. Come hither, Arbiter!
  4. Well, say Halo 5 begins with a Storm Covenant raid on Infinity; they steal the other half of the Librarian's Key; Halsey then finds Cortana (because she couldn't have just died, right? Right?!) and her to bait Chief, whom she needs to activate some newly discovered artifact (I made up Archive, the database of all Forerunner knowledge--Halsey would like that because she wants to know EVERYTHING). Then Cortana is used to sabotage Infinity, simple as that. Questions, class?
  5. Eh...IVs are more human than IIs. I thought that was pretty obvious in Spops. The IIs were respected...it was just Halsey who was accused.
  6. I posted in another thread about how Halsey could retrieve Cortana but modify her to be a virus to incapacitate Infinity, kind of like what she did to Roland in Spops. In the events leading up to the final installment in the Reclaimer trilogy, Master Chief's greatest friend could become his mortal enemy.I also think that while not having Cortana would be kind of lame, bringing her back the same would be rather stale. I might make a poll later, depending on how many people read this. But for now, thoughts?
  7. If there is noncompetitive multiplayer, then the replay value is severely reduced. Multiplayer should be simple and classic. The Forge should be upgraded. They can make the Campaign longer but be efficient about it; for instance, they could make a Campaign map in which you first assault and take over a Promethean base. In the next level, you would try to defend it from the Covenant; in the next level, you would go on a stealth mission with ODSTs to retrieve something from the base--say the Arbiter, who was captured. In this way, they can make the campaign longer, more dynamic, and more satisfying while saving space for faculties like competitive multiplayer and Forge, which are essential to please the majority of the community. You have to remember that there are many kinds of people who play Halo nowadays; a longer Campaign by itself isn't going to cut it.
  8. @BaconShelf Sounds like a less-annoying version of the Watchers' resurrection of knights.
  9. I think the Scattershot should do double-damage when it bounces off walls.
  10. A cool Covenant race would be one that tries to trick you by pretending to be dead; I call them Sleepers. After fighting an intense skirmish, you think you're done...and that's when they attack. It could just be another kind of grunt--it seems like one of their tactics. This would make the game more intense and keep players on the edge of their beanbags.
  11. @Spark918 I agree with everything you said except for the Plasma Repeater. It really didn't serve a purpose other than making the Plasma Rifle even more useless. The Plasma Rifle had better sound effects and a classic design. One thing good about it was that it was another option, but it would be better to have a Brute Plasma Rifle--but that would require the return if the Brutes.
  12. 343 put the time into making the model for the Hornet from scratch. This shows that they're interested in inserting it into a Halo game; they didn't have enough time or space to put it into Halo 4, but we might see it in Halo 5.
  13. This would be possible in Halo Reach. The Infected has a Focus Rifle, infinite Jetpack, and a Splaser.
  14. Very interesting; it's balanced out a bit because the player cannot control himself. However, I'm sure it would become very annoying.
  15. I think Halo 2A will be a great way to introduce the newer players to the Arbiter. Otherwise, Halo 5's Campaign won't make any sense.
  16. I already posted my ideas on the Emulators, a shape shifting race created by the Precursors to test the Reclaimer (check out the thread if you're interested). Now, I would like to see what your ideas are. You can post ideas for new additions to races (e.g. Kamikaze Promethean) or new races entirely. Include details of their armament, physical characteristics, and behavior, if possible. Most importantly, try to keep your posts short, sweet, and succinct--I guess you could make it sour, just not bitter--as I will attempt to read all of the posts. Get typing!
  17. I'd like a nighttime UNSC aircraft carrier with lots and lots of crates.
  18. I recognized a lot of my suggestions in there.
  19. I would be completely fine without the Gauss or Rocket Hogs if it meant the return of the Falcon. I think BTB maps should center on vehicular engagements instead of catering to long range slayers.
  20. I'd like a Falcon that looks as cool a te Hornet with it's hovercraft feel.
  21. @PlexVanguard Ditto. It would be for them to try to trick the Chief and lead him into their trap.
  22. Concise, eh? I'll try. Arbiter, Scarabs (maybe a friendly one), Emulators (check out the thread I posted), Brutes, Pelican/Falcon missions, boss-esque battles (e.g. Brute Chieftain or Alpha Hunter), more skulls (Thread: New Skull), more covies and coveys (friendly elites), stealth mission(s), more enemy classes, darker environments, more levels (not necessarily longer), darker plot, better script, dynamic game-play, urban environments, THEATER MODE FOR CAMPAIGN, more complex plot, Forerunner/Precursor lore, Halsey and Jul 'Mdama, and more Gravity Hammers (comes with having Brutes back). Cripes; I just realized the thread says "Top Ten", so I will select mine. 1. Arbiter and his allies 2. New elements such as a friendly Scarab/Pelican 3. Return of the Brutes (made possible by the Emulators--check the thread) 4. Stealth missions with silenced Magnum and ODST SMG 5. New, creative skulls (check the thread) 6. Varied enemy classes 7. Campaign theater 8. Actual boss battle 9. More complex, darker plot 10. Aerial missions with Pelicans/Falcons/Phantoms
  23. Legend has it that the Flood was no accident; in fact, it was incited by the Precursors, a race even more ancient than the Forerunners. The Forerunners believed in what they called the Mantle, the responsibility of the protection of all life in the universe. While some thought the Flood was a test to identify the Reclaimers of the Mantle, others believed the Flood were meant to unite all life; so began the Great Divide. Millions of years later, the Flood was vanquished, dried up, but humanity's test was far from over. In usurping the power of the Forerunners by incapacitating the Didact, Master Chief, the beacon of hope for humanity, assumed the responsibility of the Mantle. In order to prove his worthiness, the Precursors released a devious new race to test him: the Emulators. These fiendish creatures masquerade as foes humanity has faced in the past--the Insurrectionists, the Brutes, even the Flood. They pretend to be those with whom the Chief had come close to experiencing friendship--Sgt. Johnson, Cortana, and Cpt. Lasky, who may or may not have perished in the battle with the Storm Covenant on Sanghelios. The Master Chief must decide who is real and who is a treacherous projection. He asks himself again if he was the machine instead of Cortana. Anyway, I hope you like my idea for a "new" alien. In this way we can see faces we have missed and extinct races, and it will build suspense as to the result of the battle on Sangehelios. Post your thoughts below.
  24. The problem with humans fighting humans is that it creates a dystopian universe, something generally look down upon in the science fiction community. I read part of Glasslands, so I know ONI was supplying the Storm with weapons. It would be VERY interesting to fight Storm Covenant who wield human weapons. This would add a whole layer of deception to the universe and create some dynamic game-play.
