Team Slayer = AR, Team BR's = BR's both were game types so his point stands. Yeah would love to see doubles back used to love the absolute mayhem of it.
-
Like the idea of buffing the BR and leaving the DMR the same, it would give it a distinct advantage where as now it does not really have one. Good idea, though many may compain its worth really considering. Agreed the range is fine just make it superior at mid range

I am an ageing man at this stage, have played all the Halo series and done alright. I did not say anything about super negative!! I said we have had games where we were all negative, instante respawn has nothing to do with it.. In CTF a team that focus on the flag can and will win with negative ratios. What I did say is its made easy for us by K/D surrender monkeys!! and by how churlish your response was I am guessing you may be one of these.. If players play for themselves and K/D in either team or objective games, then they will do ok for themselves but hurt their teammates, what this game should have done is given 1/5 the points for a loss as you get for a win, then players may work for the win. The lack of a ranking system is an issue that is killing this game and making it into a CoD game.

Bring back friendly fire in all ways full stop, it requires more intelligent gaming and allows you to boot the fools who do not care if they shoot you, nade you or run you over. Also it would prevent pissy kids destroying my tank on exile because I got there faster than them, nothing worse than the tank blowing up and your alive!!! Friendly fire changes the game makes you think before you act, also with the new join round in progress system the players booted would be replaces quickly so no problem booting them. Just my opinion, and I am aware of the issues with friendly fire i.e, someone killing you for you weapon etc.

LMFAO really, have you ever left slayer??? I play objective games with my friends and we can all have a negative K/D but thanks to the useless K/D surrender monkey's we always win, why???? BECAUSE ITS CALLED AN OBJECTIVE GAME!!! lol sorry bout the caps. Like above TEAM slayer has its name for a reason, just because you hide in your own base in Ragnarok with a sniper and pick off a few kills is not good!!! You fail to realise that if your team control the hill you keep making them spawn at their base rather than closer to the combat.... meaning.... the other team can get on top, oh but wait this is what the K/D surrender monkey needs as he cannot advance and needs the enemy to come to him!!! Welcome to new Halo.. all these issues existed to some point in the last game but never in the same game breaking way.

You are forced to use explosives.... That's bad
ProudDrunkIrish replied to Kiing 0f Coffe's topic in Halo 4
I only use explosives in KoH, Dominion and in some team slayer games. It does make a difference but not that much of a difference. Most of the grenades I throw are to hurt them a bit and give me an advantage so with or without perk that reults are the same. I have not noticed any major difference in results from being hit by grenades when not using it, I mean I may lose more shield (not that much) but should I have to fight the thrower he would most probably have won whether he used the perk or not as my shields would still have been lowered (if not by as much). I do like dominion using explosives and resupply is a great combo and can really bring the pain but without resupply explosives has a very limited use in reality!! I do not see the issue as the other perks all have there distinct advantages and it really is only effective in smaller rounds or game modes where you have to hold an area.- 36 replies

I think I have said this in a few of these threads but possible changes IMO are as follows: Reduce 1HK range to exactly just beyond melee range. Make the weapon do little or no damage when charged outside this range. Make the available release time shorter/increase the charge time (not by a lot just enough to make it require a certain amount of skill) Increase the time after release (overheat time) and make it so you cannot change weapon till it cools. All of the above keep its use but make it a little harder to use, this would help keep it in its place as a secondary.

With so many good long range guns in the loadouts they had to give it absolute dominance close range and some sort of chance at mid range so all said its not overpowered at all.. Keep backing away from them and hit them in the head, this will result in you beating an AR user at mid range every time.

Does anyone have BO2??? If so can you give an exact comparison between the player numbers at the same time in the day. From there we can compare the difference in fall off. I know that CoD games have a very big casual following, but having never really played Reach I can only say that the numbers for Halo 3 were still huge many months later. This game is a good game of that there is no doubt, but there are a lot of good games out there and I think people were expecting a great game. The only numbers I have seen so far are that 3.8 Million copies of the game were sold in the first week of release and 1 month later there are often less than 50k online at any time!! I am sure there are many reasons for this but everyone has to admit that such a fall off means that the game is failing to grip people and draw them in!! They had the initial sales but lost the fan base..

I got Crimson for FREE?!?! Don't ban me, it was a glitch 343
ProudDrunkIrish replied to woofwoof301's topic in Halo 4
Downloading it as I type, antone without LE or war games pass might as well get it. Not sure if its meant to be for free but it is, I have std. edition and no war games pass, no ms points and nobody else plays on my xbox so its either free full stop or some kind of glitch -
If you got 15+ kills and no deaths in an objective game mode then you did not play for the objective lol, you do not deserve a medal but rather a kick up the a##e, go play slayer and stop ruining objective games for others...

Imagine if cod tried to be more like halo??
ProudDrunkIrish replied to Balloonloons's topic in Halo 4
Says it all!!! I wonder how many people would be playing the game if it were not called Halo??? It is funny to think that CoD games really have been same thing again and again yet they have become the best selling of all time!!! Just a comment for thought... Still goin to play H4 maybe just because its called Halo and has blue and red spartans, good job they did not change the colours lol -
I think what some people fail to miss is that anyone can hang back bang away with a DMR and get themselves a nice fancy K/D, great sounds just like CoD, congrats you play a team based game but play for yourself... The NOOB issue that arises is that well anyone can do this, and hey presto we have a hang back instead of advance and kill game... how happy everyone must be with that. And just incase they get close to the spot you refuse to move from you get a 1HK secondary. Then when your hanging back gets you a few kills you get a free power weapon meaning you have even less movement to do. I only have 1.2 or so K/D but then again like some players I think of the win more than some silly ratio. i.e. enemy gets tank I go to kill tank!!! not hide back where it cannot see me. I like to win objective games not use tham as a way to boost K/D, who cares how many times I die if I win!! When this game came out I was little more than a NOOB again as I had not played a Halo game for years and hey presto it was easy for me... why?? because its easy, the skill gap does not mean much anymore. Teamwork means a lot but a players skill is nullenvoyed by the gameplay the game encourages.
-
Maybe not but you would keep coming on!!! All games go down after release but they need a core following that still come back to play. The worry for many I am sure is how many people will be playing 6 months down the road?? Nobody has the answer but H3 for example held good numbers for years and still does, when you consider how long ago it was released the only thing that could be doing this is that it has something that no other game has.. does Halo 4 have that??
-
The magnum is a long range secondary to accompany an assault rifle or equivalent thats it!!! If you want another perk rather than firepower then its of use!!
-
LMFAO K/D is the ruination of great games, its an obsession that creates the current camping ideal... So now the poster wants us all to hang back and be afraid of dying.... honestly go play CoD with that mentallity, if a player goes out and gets 20/20 then fair play at least he tried and tbh didn't do too bad. What you propose will worsen the game and since the gameplay used by players is the worst in any Halo yet I find it sad that it was thought up. All the K/D monkeys should be banned, they should make a untold line in all maps beyonf the midway between each teams spawn that if a player does not advance beyond they get negative points, make people advance and fight bring back the game we loved. Seriously how can people be so obsessed with a stupid figure that takes all the fun from the game. What they should do is bring back friendly fire, make you lose exp. for betrayals/booted and make a loss 1/5 the points of a win. Make it a team game again.

Its a sad fact that so soon after release the community has shrunk so much. Today I was playing and there were less than 50k online for a lot of it, not one of my friends online (all of whom were mad Halo fans) were playing. Its now a mixture of clans and campers, few people talking, and not much fun. Maybe those we do not want will leave and the old guard will return but hopes are not high. All the numbers about second most played game in first month of release mean little if it is one of the least played new releases the month after. Bo2 will have millions of players and to be honest as much as I hate CoD games (say this having played and owned many of them), the style of game play (camping) is more fun on CoD games than it is on Halo 4. I still find myself attacking as my mind tells me I should in Halo and then after a min I have to make myself stop as its pointless (Sadly I remember having to do this with CoD)... Maybe its just the current gamer mentallity thats the issue, skill based games seem to be classed as wrong these days and even here people complain about how the better teams used to own others in prior Halo's. What seems to have been missed is that competition to be better is what kept Halo alive hell H3 is still being played by a lot of people. It defined the series, the style of play, the requirement to fight for the power weapons to gain dominance of the lvl's. Thsi may not have been noob friendly but it ensured that it was unique.....and in a game market overloaded with FPS unique is a winner.
-
Its not!!! They are making the game noob friendly.... apparently a lot of people seem to think this is good but people who loved Halo because the best player wins do not. This is something that is not going to change, I suffer lag so i accept a certain amount of deaths when i shouldn't scenarios but then there are times when i missed my shot and i get the kill, lag or no lag i missed and got what i did not deserve.. The skill lvl required is what defined the Halo series but now its being dumbed down.

Reach surpasses H4 for online player population......
ProudDrunkIrish replied to littletunny's topic in Halo 4
Agree entirely, I enjoy this game and a few small things could fix a lot of complaints, we see the same complaints every day, I think the reason that they are not doing this is that they released what one might call an unfinished product and took advantage of the update system to actually finish it. I dare say many of the game modes mentioned were intended to be added they are fan favourites after all, but with no beta testing etc. they may have not gone to plan and thus are still essentially being made. We are all aware that they have not finished the ranking system that is meant to be running in the background or else it would be up and running. This finishing the game means that they are not in a postion to tweak things that are there already i.e. weapons. I guess this will happen in the future and I will probably still be playing it on and off, but I do fear it may be later rather than sooner -
Boltshot on all but BTB and plasma for that, magnum has lost its place.. Overall it has to be the boltshot, anywhere ya do not have a lot of vehicles.
-
Binary rifle - Best for normal hardscoping UNSC Sniper - Kills everything people and vehicles (especially when you add damage boost and it tears vehicles especially the mantis to peices) Beam rifle - good for no scopes, normal for hardscoping, not great against vehicles. This is just my opinion from general play, seems like they gave them all their own unique advantage. I like each for its reasons above and try to play to its advantages.

Reach surpasses H4 for online player population......
ProudDrunkIrish replied to littletunny's topic in Halo 4
LOL this is nothing like halo 3, its so far removed if the series was based on 3 I would barely call this halo... H4 is not a bad game its just not Halo as people wanted it. Then again neither was reach but at the stage they made it bungie were one foot out the door so no surprise they made it very different. Halo 3 was a precision skill based game, if you were better you won and winning is what mattered most, it may be slow once you have played reach or H4 but the action was made by the people playing it and their attitude. H4 is a faster yet much slower game, less hectic action, less fun, less skill.. the fact there is no real difference between a win and a loss leaves people worrying about stupid K/D ratios. It is a totally different game and despite all the advances a shadow of its predecessor. This will never change but maybe they can at least make it a little better. -
Wow there really is no tactical gameplay here!
ProudDrunkIrish replied to Balloonloons's topic in Halo 4
Too many long range weapons have resulted in a camp fest, The boltshot has devalued close range power weapons (sword shotgun etc.) Ordinance drops have made geting power weapons less important. Automatically having sprint makes lvl's seem smaller than they are meaning bigger lvl's needed meaning more room for camping. But the truth is players new attitude to halo 4 is the major issue, they hang back with dmr's and wait for an enemy, this is a CoD style of play one that was never in Halo before. All the above issues have arisen from things that were meant to speed up the game and make it more intense, once in a blue moon this actually happens rare I know but when it does this game is excellent. 343i obviously had a different idea in mind when they added many of these features and it just so happened to go the wrong way. The game can still be good but the most important thing they can do now is add new lvl's that force these issues out of the game. The old Halo lvl's will only be ruined by the new features, look at Ragnarok, its the campiest lvl and has gone from great to boring. There is time to fix these issues and lets hope they do, there is time to save this game yet (by save I mean make it live up to expectations) -
Reach surpasses H4 for online player population......
ProudDrunkIrish replied to littletunny's topic in Halo 4
People this is not Halo as you know it call it Falo if it helps and 343 just need to push whatever they had as the master plan for the game and make somehing new that suits it and will define it as a great game. I will give it time for this to happen... but only in time will we know if the game will be great or bad. At the moment i am personally dissapointed but then again i hated reach entirely (much prefer H4) it just needs to sort itself out a little, Lets be honest most of the issues are with the fact that players have taken up a bad way of playing the game, some rounds still have the fun factor that made halo's great, it just depends on the players.. -

ProudDrunkIrish replied to Balloonloons's topic in Halo 4
Power weapons were relativley few and had limited ammo, also there were more than any 1 team could get, take the pit, each team got their sniper, shotgun, plasma pistol, BR's, and brute shot (could include mauler), they then had to fight for the sword, invis, overshield and rockets. It was rare 1 team got them all and so this free kill advantage you speak of went both ways. The fixed weapon spaans created a good battle from start to finish, they kept the round fluid, hell a decent player with a plasma pistol and a BR could take out the rocket launcher carrier. The game was about skill and hanging back meant garunteed death. Gone are those good days.. Now the worst player in the round who steals a few kills can end up with the best weapon in the game, drops are random and unpredictable, hell i have been on sprees and got a needler/grenades/speed boost drop (none of which suit say ragnarok, and some player playing rubbish will get a spartan or sniper Now what is fair in that and who is getting cheap kills??????????
