Yes it does seem to do this, it also puts people in parties in the same team over parties + open mic, so its not always the advantage it seems. I guess the logic behind it is that if you have a mic in you might as well have someone to talk to. If people actually tal and play like a team it is an advantage but this is rarely the case in my experience, I often find that players will still do their own thing and ignore each other bar a few comments, I have often taken the mic out part way through game as it seems pointless.

Have to say in SWAT it is a terrible map but in normal slayer it can be ok, its one sided in ctf aswell. These are the only times I have come across it so all in all not a great map for anything but slayer.

Still do not understand why they removed KOH all that time ago, though if the plan was to combine a few of the playlists then it would make some sense being as they might not have been popular enough on their own. Nice to here that its back thanks for the info.

Have to say not being a fan of 343's job on Halo 4 they are starting to get a little better, sure they are still full of false promises and are so far behind I wonder if they know which way to look. BUT they are starting to make additions and they seem to be getting some things right. I dare say they are in a situation where they are still trying to finish the game so making many of the changes poeple have asked for is probably on the long finger for now, but recently they have given me hopw that eventually they may get around to it... So all in all 343 have improved, but had left themselves in an almost impossible situation for now at least.

I would have to agree that this should be an action sack game rather than a team snipers game mode, snipers as it is is fine, even the loss of the beam rifle in it is no big issue. Once again I suppose I find myself hoping for the appearance of action sack

I assume you mean the death grenade, well i first started using this constantly in Halo 3, its a case of if you are going to lose the gun fight why not try and take your opponent with you.. it stands to reason and I do it all the time (well in situations that apply). Its a good move and very gratifying to get a kill from the grave on the guy who just killed you. Its not a bad thing in my opinion, if you are used to it then you naturally react to avoid it, also to do it right takes more skill than one might assume. The grenade markers help stop this from being as effective as it was in previous games. Most players waste their grenades soon after spawn as it is so to get a death grenade is not as common as one might think.

Multiteam was a favourite of mine in Halo 3, the total mayhem involved was brilliant, games like KOH were just out of this world. Its a pity they do not have it but at least they are back to adding playlists rather than just takling them away so who knows maybe someday we will get our wish. I think the 2v2 (doubles) was brought out to help keep the more competitive part of the community happy. I have yet to play it as I am on night shift and have no online mates to enter it with during my playing time so cannot really comment on it good or bad aspects. Multiteam gets my vote for next release

BR, Boltshot, frags would be my choice of weapons.. Nemesis would not be a bad idea 1 v 1, as for stability cannot say I would go for it, maybe explosives as on haven there are a lot of nades lying around and it will give you a real upper hand on damage dealt and revieved. Now 1v1 is interesting when picking the AA, usually on haven jet pack is a good one, but active camo or hologram used well might be more useful!! depends on your play style. If you use camo you might need stealth on. The above would suit my play style... of course different lvl's mean different loadouts!
-
If you cannot use grenades and play against em then you need more practice, requesting a game mode that removes base weapons you do not like and saying others are bad players if they do not want it is silly. Most players who are good with nades will be damn good with guns, its somethins all Halo players learned second so they could beat a guy equally good with guns. Frags are supposed to be stronger, thats their thing.

Don't play much SWAT but I thought that even the full burst to the body did not kill!!! Its just that you can drag it across the head of an opponent thus hitting him with at least 1 shot in the head. If this is true then the OP is incorrect and just flaming a little, if I am wrong he may have some argument. Anyone able to clarify???

If you replaced the rockets arm with a gauss gun that had a slow recharge between shots then that might not be too bad, it would make it more direct at vehicle kills but not too deadly against a few players advancing on it. At the moment I have to say the mantis is pretty well balanced, I mean a few teammates helping it and it is very hard to kill.

I have to say this is a bit of a pain, I would not change loadouts but say the direction of my play at the start, when facing a party. At the moment it seems the only way to know is after game (although it can be very obvious during the game). With the lack of conversation between players in H4 when you come up against a party there is little you can do as all your team do their own thing which can work out very badly for all. Team play wins at the end of the day. Would be nice to add a feature that lets us see parties as I have often been in one and had players join us who were in party chat but had none of their party present in our game, so as far as the enemy knew we were all one big party when we were not.

Yes I would like to see more of these game modes like splockets and ''cinque de mayo'' (name was something like that had random weapon starts), all in all a good action sack playlist with loads of maps would be fun.

Read the books... and yes you once again broke the stupid meter!!! It just can't read this low..

If you read through all the posts you will see most of em agree with you, however Halo has declined from a great game to just another good game, which considering how many of them there are it really is not good enough. Halo will not die as long as money is to be made and lets be honest money will be made from people who buy it, play a bit then put it away for something else. This is a weak attempt to carry on a title that was once great and it made all the mistakes Reach did and then some.. Halo was special in a field saturated by the norm but now it has gone a long way to joining the norm and is not good enough to come out on top. MLG has nothing to do with its decline there are a hundred reasons splattered across this forum that explain the fall. You can stick your head in the sand and say all is good or you can look around and see the problems for what they are.

Halo is not dead its just another alright game nowadays, it fall from grace has been dramatic with the last 2 releases killing a game that was king of the hill... Sure CoD may have had great sales figures but Halo used to be a great game, now we have a mediocre replacement that has lost most of what made its predecessors great... MLG has nothing to do with it, honestly who really cares about MLG except those playing it??? My life is too good for me ever to be too great at a computer game lol.. Its the game that is doing the damage to the title nothing else. Dead may be the wrong term but it is no longer a great game and considering how many good games there are out now its no more than a middle of the bunch runner which is one of the saddest realisations since I began playing video games.

Playlist and features have all been discussed, I have mentioned and seen mentioned all the things in your post, I have no interest in MLG and that goes for most of this here community. The classic playlists would be awsome, big team objective would be great, multiteam, ranked and social playlists, true skill ranking system, and many many other additions have been asked for. The truth is 343 are so far behind they cannot even listen if they wanted to, I mean they are still finishing things that were meant to be part of the game from the very start. I would love many new additions but let them fix the issues with what is currently in the game first. I ask for many of the things you describe as MLG player requests even though I am not one and could not care if MLG went the way of the dinosaurs.. at the end of the day too much computer games = no real life lol.

Scoped Light rifle = fastest kill time of all rifles Incineration cannon = best launcher Boltshot = best secondary (plasma pistol for BTB) Plasma grenades = most useful all round grenades Beam rifle = best snapshot sniper Promethean sniper (can never remember the name) = most powerful sniper All the UNSC things are good all rounders, they are the most common for this reason well the DMR is!! Truth is if the UNSC had all the best weapons always why did they get their asses kicked by the covy's for so long?? Hell they lost Reach (a planet full of superhuman soldiers). The multiplayer is not about fact or fiction, its about balance or else why have a weapon nobody will use??? Your comments are pointless trolling and have no basis at all, so quit while your behind find a big hole and go hide in it

For a perfection wheelman in BTB and kill 15 then hide (why people care for this I do not know) In general the classes stated by Fleshback are very similar to my own ones so I say stick with them.

Haha I too would love some payment from activision, is there a form or something I missed filling out when Buying Halo 4.... The sales figures were great then the population a month later is rubbish so I believe that really says it all!!! Actually it even says more than we do. 343 made many mistakes to many to reiterate once again and the Halo title has and will pay the price. Oh well whats done is done and to be honest (and i dare say I am not the only one in this situation) it is more the unwillingness to let go of the love I had for Halo 3 that keeps me even playing this game.. but meh.

I have differing opinions on the OP I suppose, 1. Yes AFk players should be booted after say 70 seconds of no action. 2. No bans or other penalties should be implemented. They get a loss on their stats and are removed. 3. Making someone select a loadout before they spawn, rather than auto spawn might be a very good idea. You could still have no.1 in place. At the end of the day it only really matters in Objective games like CTF.. In BTB, Slayer it aint the end of the world. so it has never really been an issue for me, honestly people talk of boosting yet in reality what the hell is there to boost for, I mean yeahhh I get to SR130 faster then guess what THATS IT!!!

@Bloody^^^ Could not have put it better myself, I know I mentioned the carbine being good against noobs and I should have just said its a confindence thing. I am the same I never really fear a carbine and win where I would have lost to a DMR. I like the Exile example, its amazing how many times red team are unsure what the best course of action is as there is chance of the gauss annihalating you, hell I go for banshee when red and am amazed how many times I get killed by a parked gauss after getting it only to find my team shyed away from going for the tank!!! Confidence in this game is king to many hang back afraid and guess what they often lose as a result..

If they cut the recharge time even by a second it would make a massive difference, or have it progressivley recharge (hell that would be something new and interesting, say 2 seconds with no shield then 3 seconds for it to fully charge!!). But seriously it is a little on the long side as the game has become a lot faster with instant respawn and sprint. It seems they just want players to die a lot more for some insane reason.

Removing the BR from reach had a lot to do with why I did not play it, they replaced my favourite weapon with the abomination known as the DMR... SWAT was invented for the BR so you are used to a distorted after version of the original so if anything get rid of the DMR. Halo was much better before reach so the less reach influence the better in my opinion, but seriously both weapons have their maps and some maps I even prefer the pistol, just because you do not like it does not mean it should be removed. I am guessing from your post you missed the Halo hayday so all I can say is try the BR a bit and who knows you may just fall in love!!
-
Firstly I have to say I hate comments like this when someone has put so much time into a thread.. Secondly I have to agree in general with the carbine being beneath the other 2 guns in general, now some people will prefer it for whatever reason as many prefer the BR, but that is more a favouritism issue than an actual ability issue, Skill has little to do with it, the carbines fire rate is its main advantage, it will scare less knowledgable players and cause them to miss or retreat when they should not, also it will keep an enemies scope thrown off more consistantly in a long range battle. All of these things are fine if the perfect situation arises but in general using a carbine against an equally skilled player using a DMR you are often on the losing side. The solution of clip size is a good one if due to nothing else but fire rate, increasing its damage would make it better than the BR and closer to the DMR but that is not necessarily a good thing. One could make the DMR worse and that would lvl the playing field overall, say decrease fire rate and then all would be closer together.. Once again good post and keep it coming,.
