Indeed it is but in close quarters with lots of movement it is easier to follow and hit a person with a BR than a DMR, now this is just what I have found, the dmr is still very effective but the ability of being able to drag a Burst across an enemy means you can hit every time (same reason BR is better for SWAT) The DMR is the best and has the fastest kill time so all in all its the best loadout weapon. It could do with a bit of nerfing, also its autoaim/aim assist when zoomed out is insane, many times I get headshots when I can tell you i was aiming off target entirely. They made it way too easy to use, really they should have almost no aim assist on it.

Really so in your opinion DMR is fine despite fastest kill time and top range and yet they need to nerf 2 lesser guns lol.. And after reading a few more posts I think people mix up skill and just plain experience (meaning knowing the basics), doing small things make big differences in Halo games and some know that and others do not. That is the major difference at the moment IMO.

The DMR is the best loadout gun in the game, thats an accepted fact at this stage, nothing comes close. The carbine is good if you are against noobs as the high fire rate panicks them but any decent player with a dmr will kill a carbine user. The BR is good in smaller maps, its pretty much equal to the DMR, this may have to do with personal prefence. The light rifle is very good long range weapon but with a reticle that cannot be seen against certain backgrounds and weak kill power zoomed out it has its flaws. So yes DMR is top dog and should have been nerfed but that has yet to happen.

Any xp tips? Also what you think about the new forge war games thing?
ProudDrunkIrish replied to EpicBeaver's topic in Halo 4
Just play the game, once ya get to lvl 50 all you will get is a few mediocre perks from then on.. so whats the rush? -
So no ranking system, as far as I can tell the DMR is unchanged (anyone able to verify this or has BR been touched?), only crimson DLC replaced by forge, still no team snipes or doubles (I was sure they mentioned doubles!!) and only 2 specializations available to those who did not have them... Yup definitley the game changer we had been hoping for lol. Maybe 343 should actually finish something before they start harping on about releasing it.

Not really, lets be honest the skill lvl's are not that high, the DMR in particular is insanely easy to use as are most unsc weapons. I do not play swat that much but when i do I have to laugh at the ease of the game, I use it for pistol kills and its just funny sometimes. Lets be honest, the standard guns do not require any major skill and then most power weapons have been dunbed down so a blindfolded monkey could use them. I did not play much reach which meant no Halo between 3 and 4 yet I found getting positive very easy from the word go in this game (not something that I found so easy with 3 at the start), that is a sign of a game designed to be easy to play. While I say this I accept that additional skill will help you be more positive but the gap has been reduced a lot, I play casually yet am consistently in the top 2 of my team, not because I have any great skill lvl, in reality the more skilled game types of FFA and Team Doubles are not in the game yet so my opinion may be warped a bit.

No but then again the people I play with are not that way inclined, if you get it then well done you prob deserved it.. People should just relax and play the game and not worry bout random stats/challenges. They come with time played.

Big team, vehicles on exile and sniping from base on ragnarok, I never actually went for one but have a few of them, me and my banshee on exile can do nasty things. Best and easiest way would be good run in the gauss then hide for the rest of the round if it matters to ya that much. To be honest you will prob just get em eventually.

Yes once you complete one you have to select your next one or you gain no experience from that point until you do. This is something I often forget to do and have been caught out almost every time. So when each is complete just select the next one you want and things will continue as normal. NOTE: just a thing to point out, if you have say a challenge from which you get say 10k points and you are only 2k from completing your current specialization try not to complete the challenge until you have picked the next one or the points are wasted.

The True, Main and only Real problem with Halo 4!!!
ProudDrunkIrish replied to ProudDrunkIrish's topic in Halo 4
All valid points, I believe that ordinance drops were intended to make the game quicker paced and more aggressive but have actually sent it in the opposite direction. I personally loved the fight for the power weapons (anyone remember the battle for sword and rockets on The Pit), and to be fair in most maps the power weapons were very tactically placed (in Halo 3 anyway). It is really a situation of players taking advantage of the current system rather than utilising it, control of the hill is still the best way to win in Ragnorok but many players will not even try to go as far as the hill so those who do pay the price for making an effort. The new maps are not really designed for forward aggression either I suppose, most traditional Halo maps were head on battle grounds yet we now have constantly alternating spawns on the new ones which to an extent helps promote camping. A lot of my unhappiness with campy style players is probably due to the aggressive nature of my play, I am often left on my own outnumbered and outgunned. I do not play halo to camp and wait for the enemy that is what CoD is for lol. -
Goodbye, I love how you include yourself in the list lol.... BTW reach was possibly the worst halo to date..
-
Well I go by PDI for obvious enough reasons....
-
For 2 new playlists, another episode of spartan ops and a couple of bug fixes, well now that will solve all of the problems of the game. What would be real funny is if they took the playlists they release away for fixing like team snipes lol... Sure it is an alright game and expectation is now the mother of all F ups so we had better get used to things.

I have been on the good end of this so many times where I was not king at all for a round but won it at the end by killing the king... Its a bit silly in many ways as if its close towards the end you are as well of not being the king for fear of being killed and someone passing you out. I guess we can only hope for proper FFA to be released.

He would be stuck at lvl 70 if he did not already have them...

Once you have completed a specialization, you have to go select the next one in the specialization menu, this will start you at SR 81, make sure you have done this first. If you have completed the previous one fully and you are not able to select another then you are suffering due to some glitch, maybe uninstall/reinstall game or contact xbox support as I have not heard of this being a common thing, so it may be just happening to you!! You could also try redownloading the specializations from your recent dl history incase the original download was corrupt or something. Try this before the uninstall game option.

The True, Main and only Real problem with Halo 4!!!
ProudDrunkIrish replied to ProudDrunkIrish's topic in Halo 4
A very valid point, now you can hang back and with a bit of luck gain success, I cannot state how many times my team has controlled Ragnarok only to find thanks to ordinance the enemy suddenly have 3+ snipers!!! Still ordinance can be good to stop say a tank or gauss running riot altogether yet people have just taken advantage of it in a different way.. -
The True, Main and only Real problem with Halo 4!!!
ProudDrunkIrish replied to ProudDrunkIrish's topic in Halo 4
I admit ordinance drops have created a game where you can hang back and still get a power weapon, rather than the old style of fight for them. There are many more examples of the way teammates play in a silly fashion not just camping for things. This obsession with K/D rather than a rank has had its own effect I suppose, Players who are in for a whole round and get 6-2 clearly are not pulling their weight. I miss the old school attitude that was in Halo and the community that went with it. It is rare I bother to put the headset on now as there is nobody to talk to and no social element to the game unless you play with friends. In past episodes I made many friends through playing the game but now I find anyone with a headset is in private chat. The reason for this topic was just to remind people that many of the issues with the game are player related and some things we complain about could have been great things if players had just gone a different way with them. -
Well I have criticised many aspects of this game as have many players, but the more I play the more i realise the biggest issue of all is the players playing. I mean when did this horrible play style start and where did it come from?? Whether it be base camping with a snipes on ragnarok even when your team have the hill or camping for the tank on exile its just the saddest way to play and most garunteed way to lose, all of the maps have a problem of this sort and this is not the maps fault but players. The run away from the fight and hide attitude has destroyed this series maybe there was too much of a gap between halo's and CoD created a new mentallity who knows but having played for a while now it has come to the point that playing with randoms is something you almost dare not do.
-
I agree with what you say but it is what it is.. it will be somewhat like a 1-50 system but will not be visible ingame and as yet they have only mentioned social/ranked playlists with nothing set in stone (which means nothing based on 343 past). Its a big dissapointment for me personally but nothing we can do.

Nice Job sarge fair play keep up the good work lol.....
-
There are few aread around lvl's where I seem to get caught against a wall but I suppose the exist in all games, I suppose the pushing of players is not something to be fixed in this game but rather to be removed from the next. Would be nice to see the old system back in place as at least everyone knows the score.

Lots of gametypes this included are missing from the game and we can only hope they add them eventually but when nobody knows so just sit tight and hope for the best.

I depise this feature of the game, I have been sniping on the hill in Ragnarok and many times only to find some idiot of a team mate has pushed me into the view of the enemy, or even worse the mantis has pushed me straight over the hill.... I do find that I seem to get pushed more than I can push but then again it might have to do with sprint. It is a silly feature in the game, if nobody can move anyone then players would go around you instead of trying to go through you. It is amazing how often this takes away your shot or gets you killed, but then again intelligent halo is all but dead..

He is no normal soldier but a super soldier than has saved the Human race twice, he has been MIA for years and only ever answers to those who have been placed in the chain above him by Lord Hood. He has always had a major role in decision making in previous games, so for him to take matters into his own hands in this game was not surprising. Lets be honest who on earth or any human planet is goin to dare to touch their most powerful weapon.
