  1. This right here. I think that Flood is a great gametype and that's awesome, but the lack of customization is disappointing.
  2. Why thank you Also, I want to point out to everyone arguing about the DMR and BR that I never mentioned the DMR once. Take the arguments elsewhere. There are many other threads for this.
  3. The whole thing is still pretty vague, but it' definitely cool steps in the (hopefully) right direction.
  4. Many people have been speculating about the Valve game company getting into the console race. They already have in many aspects by implementing their Big Picture Mode. Basically what that is, for those who don't know, is an update to Steam software that allows uses to play, when hooked up to an HDTV, their PC games on HDTV's fully optimized. Recent developments at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2013 have furthered these speculations when Valve announced that they are investing money with a company, Xi3, in order to have them create a very small computer, meant to be be a much more simplified pathway that allows users to use Steam's Big Picture Mode on Televisions. The implications for this are astounding when concerning PC games. It allows people to much more easily play Steam games on their Televisions. This computer, in combination with Big Picture Mode, is coming at a perfect time when the next generation of consoles are hitting. The specifics aren't knows as to whether Valve will try this on their own, or who would be partnering with them, but the signs are pointing in the direction that Valve is branching to not only encompass the PC market, but the console one as well. UPDATE: The device will reportedly run Linux as well. UPDATE 2: Gabe Newell has gone more in detail about the Xi3. He has stated that this box will not be the last to receive Steam support, but it isn't the "Steam Box" that everyone has been talking about. “We’ll come out with our own and we’ll sell it to consumers by ourselves,” he said. “That’ll be a Linux box, [and] if you want to install Windows you can. We’re not going to make it hard. This is not some locked box by any stretch of the imagination. We also think that a controller that has higher precision and lower latency is another interesting thing to have.” The Steam Box is coming, and will eventually be here.
  5. I wouldn't say that it only caters to casual players, but the vast majority of the play does, that's for sure. Hopefully we'll get some good MLG and competitive playlists in the coming months.
  6. I think that lots of people would tend to agree with the OP, though it was more of a crazy rant than anything. Halo 4 definitely caters to both audiences. I still think there's plenty of room for competitiveness (there's still Halo 4 MLG) and also for casual players.
  7. So, after a magnificent run, Sony has finally announced that production on the PlayStation 2 is officially being shut down. The console, after twelve years of production, has sold over 150 million consoles worldwide. The console has been so well regarded that, as many of you surely know, even after the PlayStation 3's release many games were still being ported down to the PS2. The PlayStation 2 has been the primary release console for many games, some of which include Guitar Hero, God of War, and Killzone, all critically acclaimed series' that made their debut's on the PS2. The PlayStation 2 is arguably one of the most successful consoles ever released, so make sure to get your last kicks or purchases in now, as PS2's will surely go up in price in the coming months and years.
  8. Honestly, the only way that people reach 130 this quickly (for the most part) is by playing Double XP Spartan Ops missions. There are some exceptions, and the game has been out for two months. It's not crazy to think people are beginning to hit the cap. That being said, rank is fairly trivial and I'm sure the cap will be raised soon.
  9. Season one. The opening shot is fan-flipping-tastic.
  10. I keep seeing all of these big AAA releases geting mentioned. I loved Mark of the Ninja and FTL this year. Both were some of my absolute favorite games of the year.
  11. I know that a lot of people complain about the menu music getting old, but I feel like that's pretty common for any loading screen. But tell me, do you like the song? Here it is, in it's entirety, and listen to the whole thing before you decide. I think it's one of the top three tracks in the Halo 4 OST. http://youtu.be/qldRY7Nx9fo
  12. I like it! Coming from someone who plays semi-professional paintball, I'd love for you to draw or create a top-down view. I could help you make it even better if you'd like! There are a couple of things missing I think, but all in all I dig it.
  13. So you're complaining that people are making it easier for you to kill them.
  14. No I know. I'm keeping my political views out of this, but that's Fox News' actual slogan xD
  15. Mmmmm did the podcast inspire this? xD
  16. As much as I like the music, it seems like an oversight to not include more audio options.
  17. Good 'ol UNSC Sniper Rifle, no question.
  18. I've never seen as many titles in all caps as I have in the MLG forum.
