  1. Ok since the last call for shooting the short teaser got cancelled, I am going to attempt to do this part solo with the help of my son. We will do all the body acting and I will try to edit everything to a workable standard. What i need is for everyone to record their lines and send me a link to the sound files. I REPEAT, PLEASE RECORD YOUR LINES AND POST A LINK FOR ME TO DOWNLOAD THEM. They can be in any format.   2. I've seen a lot of things change over the past 10 years. I watched the community in it's infancy, and seen the culmination of what it is now. As stated previously, a lot of the community was made up of 20-something guys and some in between 13-17. Taking a look at the community now, a lot of us have grown up and moved on, or have had our play time sevearly deduced. There are a couple things in my opinion that have lead to the slight decline in the community. #1. Lack of PC support. As the community gains newer younger members, most parents are not in a rush to spend money on a console simply because their kid wants to only play a Halo game. I have seen this before when playing Halo PC. Most people on there have not played Reach or halo 3 yet becuase their parents wont let them or spend the money. Brining Halo titles to PC would open up the market a bit and give COD, Gears, BF a run for their money and allow younger community members to play newer titles. #2. As previously stated again, the game market has caught up. It took a while but it happened. Halo no longer holds it's own in the FPS market compared to the newer and better formatted games around. Games like Crysis have outdone Halo in terms of LOD and poly count for models. This allows a better visual experience. #3 World economics have played a huge part in the declining video game sales this year and prior. People have limited amount of money now, and when deciding to make a purchase, want to ensure their purchase has significant replay value as well as a long time coming support and expansion system. In terms of support, the entire CoD and MW series has Halo beat in terms of new added content. When faced with a choice.....loads of content plus new content vs silly new achievments......the bonus content and future content coming, will always win out when a purchase decision is made. #4 An overlooked and understood portion of the video game world is the dreaded 7 year gap. That is the time in which it takes software to fully complete it's uphill to run to match and properly support the hardware market. When the 360 first came out, the software the game companies had to work with as well as Microsoft, was bleak. The hardware the 360 ran on was not fully supported and lacked full features and abilities that we see in games like Reach and the upcoming BF and CoD titles. Unfortunately for everyone, game companies don't make money just sitting around waiting for proper or better software so they can make a game. Sometimes we just get stuck with a sub-par title or things we don't like. Beleive me, I am sure Bungie would have loved to have made a great ending Halo title that brought the 360 to the very brink of exploding, but the support is just not there yet. it's almost there...almost. This is another reason why the Halo ciommunity has seen a decline. When newer games come out, they have benefitted from ahving a better development resource base. Reach was mostly finished up in early 2010. Development for it basically ran from early 2009 to 2010. Games like BF and MW3 have had production times ranging from 2009 to 2011. So obviously they have had a better support base for the consoles in terms of development tools. I do believe however, that Halo 4 will be the title that re-ignites the Halo community to it's former glory. When H4 makes its appearance, it will be utilizing DX11 or possibly DX13 shader and xenonlib support, which is just about bursting the seams on the 360 hardware. We should be provided a game that has the best resource pool to choose from and it should be able to deliver a visual expereince like we have never seen before. Also keep in mind, that since this is 343i's first standalone linear Halo title...we are still unsure of how well they will keep the map files encrypted. I hate to say it, but modding and hacking can really breed a huge community. If not for the myriad of Halo 2 apps that we had to mod, change and rebuild map files, it would not have been as popular...that is a cold hard truth. Is it just me, or do all my posts seem to turn into a novel of sorts?!?

  4. Man, what happened? Take a look over at wetpaint.com. Wetpaint is the primary website provider used by Halo 1 clans like when I was in [CñR]. It's a pretty good site to use. Also you could try looking at Spruz.com. I have used that one as well for clans and stuff.
  5. Np Lulz. Normally I would pull out techical game data from the tag set used in the game to slam and humiliate most people who post this kind of stuff, but you sir are much different. You actually have a good concept of the game and the way it plays. Your ideas and observations make your point valid and null and void from any type of slander. We need more people like you around here. I am soooo tired of the ones we normally get who just bash the game all day. In most cases if people played more with the same passion they have for hating the game, they might actually learn to like it.
  6. Small change in plans. When I scheduled this for tonight, I had completely forgot that tomorrow is my 12 year wedding anniversary. I ahve to work tomorrow so me and the wife made dinner plans. We have to re-schedule this for maybe tuesday. Sorry about this guys...but the wife comes firts.

  8. I never noticed that the player movement field was increased beyond the other weapons. Interesting and real good find Lulz.. I never use the sword much so I prolly didn't catch it for that reason. The bloom issue is a bit more complicated though. In order to create the changes they needed to answer the call of a majority of the community, they had to alter a total of 7 different fields of weapon data to achieve the effects you see now in the TU. Unfortunatly, those 7 fields are all inderectly liked, but must be changed in order for the changes to work properly...so my guess is, we are stuck with what we see. I never did see any issue with the jump height but you do bring up a valid point with it. I may have to see about digging into a few things to see if I can uncover the jump height they set compared to the previous titles. Good finds and points though. Much more effort than most of the comlaint threads floating around lately. Kudos!
  9. Figured I would show some love to those who still play halo 2 PC. This is the latest beta version of my from scratch interpritation of the firefight map Crater from Halo 3 ODST. Usually I keep all my H2MT (Halo 2 Map Team) beta releases strickly within the confines of Montsrmoose, but I just couldn't resist sharing with you guys.   10. Sounds like a plan. I guess the only way to truly find out, would be to have everyone in the lobby, switch their netwrok settings to "local" and see what happens? ***EDIT*** Nevermind, I almost completely forgot there is a way around it. Everyone who is gonna body act just needs to get a hold of a copy of XBC. For those who don't know, XBConnect is a tunneling app for the pc, that allows you to system link over an internet connection.
  11. I do have one small concern, and it invloves the lowering of your weapon. To my knowledge it only works when you are in "local Network" mode. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that mean if we wanted to do a proper machinima Web Show episode, that we need to have our xbox's system linked...like we all have to be in one spot...not across the world?
  12. Could not agree more. It seems as though they took the most popular played maps from the now when they decided on what maps to redo. TBH, Chrilon, Gephyrophobia, Danger canyon and Infinity should have been included. Turf was an epic slayer and assault map.
  13. This is why we need to make playable characters like the grunts, in future halo titles. A sweet direction to take like theatre, would be to incoporate a macjinima function style lobby. Allow players a party size of 16 or more and allow each one to choose a different biped like a loadout. Imagine the possibilities! We could definatly do a Adopt-A-grunt machinima then. Oh btw Spectral.... I am definatly gonna work this whole thing into a 343i Web Show episode. Prepare to be humiliated on screen my friend!!!

The part where he talks about physics is priceless. He wouldn't know what the physics system is in Halo or even how it was created. Dumb ass.... "Needler Rifle"?!? It's a Needle Rifle... THERES NO "R"..... I could write a whole 3 pages on everything he said, and point out a solid argumentive fact based post about what he said and why it is just plain wrong. This way, if your not available....I can shoot the whole thing solo since I got 4 gold accounts. Please respond by friday morning if possible. Thanks guys! As for those doing voices only, please include here also a spec on what your spartan model looks like. I can film your parts and just have you send in the voice clips I need read by you.

  21. So..... your all for the blooming reticule not being in the game? Please rephrase your statement to be acurate to what changes they made. Example... I love the "No Bloom" playlists. The MegaloScript execution to change the memory values of 7 of the DMR weapon fields was great. Nulling or limiting the distance the reticule blooms as well as lowering the firing radius was a cool fresh addition to the traditional gameplay. You see the difference right? When people read your post about it, you give the impression that the little blooming reticule on your HUD is why the weapons fire the way they do. No disrespect man, just trying to educate everyone here, one post at a time.
  22. That's your compelling argument? That wasn't an argument, it was an overstated personel opinion based on gameplay experiences YOU had. If your going to properly argue why a certain game asset fails to function properly or inhibits gameplay, you need to do it from the perspective as to how each component operates. Not only on the field as what you experience, but also the tags themselves. Oh and btw, you know the game has been out for over a year right? Your just now bringing all this up?

  24. People play Reach a lot less a year later because newer games have come out. Reach also debuted in the middle of the worst economic status in about a decade. Many factors come into play when figuring out why a player base dwindles or remains small from the start. As for everyones complaint about how the game mechanics function...get over it. This is not a sequel to the linear story line we are used to. Weapons will be different as well.as secondary and support items. Dont come in here and bash a game for the sole reason that it is not in any way remotely similar to a previous Halo title you loved. The playability of any game that is not a sequel or linear in.story must be treated as a stand alone title and judged for what it does seperatly from othrrs. As for those who wanted changes...understand that most of the changes you have been so.quick to suggest, would require a complete rewriting of the Blam! Engine and MegaloScript.
