  1. You flatter me Fishy When do we get to see an actual pic of you? Or did i miss one you posted?
  2. They actually did say previous times, that the games are NOT canon and are independent from the books and lore that followed after Halo CE. If you go back and watch the Reach VidOC series, even Staten says that the games are the games, and the books are the books. The only reason they went ahead to patch the whole thing with terminals is because impatient nutty fanboys cant just accept that the games would either be too long or too short if they went strictly by book. Id like to see you layout the capaign for Reach mission by mission going by book ONLY, and see how much gameplay you actually get out of it without confusing non experienced players with the continuity of it all.
  3. Actually thats wrong. Depending on the exact bmp, it can have either 0,4 or 8 bit compression. While yes 0 is the most common, bmp files can also support alpha channels. There is actually a wide range of support for bmp depending on the application used. There is no 100% better than all file format. Bmps are the most common and use true color output wirhout any pixel blending per say. Depending on your technique and experience, any file format can display rich true color depth.
  4. Halo Reach is hated for many reasons. Most of the hatred stems from either of two positions... 1. It doesn't follow strict canon. 2. Drastic mechanic changes One thing that is sorely overlooked and generally misunderstood about video games is that just like it's media brother the movies, games also need to be adjusted to bring a certain level of playability to them and make them overall understandable to the wider audience. For example, let's look at the X-Men movies. The movies did not in any follow the original comic yet the movies did flow and allowed the wider audience who was not familiar with them, enjoy them. Now look at Halo. Had Reach been designed and adhered to the strict book canon, it would have made telling the story a challenge and would not have allowed a generally wider audience to enjoy it as much or understand the story. Now let's look at the other side of things regarding mechanics. Halo Reach as stated many times Bungie, represented the Halo game they wanted to make from the beginning. Mechanic wise, Reach was a drastic "All in one shot" departure from the core mechanics we had in Halo 1-3. What they started in Halo 3, they finished with Halo Reach. Had Bungie began to impliment items such as sprint, or drops in Halo 2 and continued to add on slowly...we wouldn't have the huge amount of backlash we did. Surfice to say, big change in one shot scares a lot of people and breaks the fundamental expectations players have going from title to title. But just as movies go, change is required to keep games relevant and freah. Although I will always love Halo 2 the most, I certaintly would NOT like future titles to be a simple copy and paste of a previous game with pretty new paint applied.
  5. Curios as to what kind of poly count unity can handle bsp wise. I have a few remake maps I could convert over to your pipeline format. Anything model or environment you need, hit me up.
  6. Noble Team had plenty of personality. You had to really listen to the dialog and the way the actors portrayed that dialog. They had the same amount of personality as Chief did in Halo CE. And while we're talking about personality...maybe you need to go back and watch some of the cut-scenes involving Chief. Downes did an awful job trying to convey actual emotion. Chief sounded monotone and robotic half the time. If it we'rent for the fact that he has 4 solid titles in which he starred as the main character to date, he wouldn't have much personality or the appearance there-of.
  7. Updated pic of me....cause you know...we can never have enough me around here!
  8. We are still active in the middle east and we have been at war in the middle east since 1967. We never stopped, we never pulled out. My cousin is a naval aviator and was stationed on the Eisenhower. Most recently off the coast in Syria this past year. She will tell you straight out that the overall opinion of the president in the military is very, very poor. Their hate for him is only rivaled by their hate for Congress at this moment. Point is, you would never see any other president pull the crap he has pulled as of late. he's basically telling you that he doesn't care about this country or your opinion of him.
  9. 1. He didnt stop any wars. We're still fighting overseas. 2. The US does not dictate gas prices. OPEC controls petrol prices, and petrol companies like Exxon dictate pump prices. Gas prices are not regulated by the government. If that were true, we wouldnt have gas as low as $1.50 in some states, and others as high as $6. 3. His race has nothing to do with it. Its more about his failure to uphold basic principles and true democratic policies. His presidency was a failure, and Congress failed as well. 4. Unemployment is well above media numbers. Besides, he didnt do anything to lower it. Unless he became a business owner or HR rep and actually himself created jobs. Unemployment is the responsability of companies. The only thing the government does, is boost the unemployment rate by trying to strongarm companies with taxes...forcing them to move jobs overseas.
  10. No, I spelled it right. trying to avoid being sued lmao
  11. All my YESH!!!!! I shall replace him! I knew I should have run in the last race after getting my noms....
  12. As far as the legality, it's only legal for Valve/Bethesda titles. Unless a deal is struck ahead of time for other publishers, aka Activision, Sony, Microsoft, etc... hosting any paid mod without an agreement ahead of time means lawsuits all around. I don't think any modder should be given compensation or even be able to be given the option. Truly great mods are created out of fun of doing so. Creating a paid model will surely reduce the quality, as it will encourage laziness to be rewarded. And let's be honest, most companies DON'T want you to mod their game. There is a good reason why titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield have not backed an Editing Kit or the community for what they have been able to do. A lot of companies are afraid of the implications of allowing the community to push out content that may be better than theirs. I'd like to see a full list of games so far that support the "pay to mod" business model. Guaranteed, half those games on the list are not anything spectacular or very popular right now. Skyrim is a good example. The game was over repetative and bland from the start. ANYTHING added to it increased it's playablility. Sad but true. I uninstalled the game a week after getting it. But that's just my take on it given my 15+ years of modding games...
  13. Here is the aspect your all missing.....IT'S ILLEGAL!!! Neither Steam nor any other 3rd party owns the IP and licensing rights to games. By charging money for a mod as a modder, you are making money, and or the seller (Steam) is making money....and I have yet to see the business model explained. Is Steam giving 100% of the selling price to the publisher/Developer? Do they have a contract with every studio in their library? EUA guidlines for content usage and even engine sdk's require the person creating content on an already owned IP to pay a royalty or subscription service fee. Do I think my fellow modders should be compensated for the content they push out? Absolutely not! The entire premise of mods is to extend a games life and playability for FUN. Do I think I should be paid as well as my team for everything we have corrected for Microsoft in Halo 2 PC? No, I dont. Why? Because we did it is fun. We did it to not slap Microsoft in the face and wave our flag, but to help the community. What kind of help would that have been if we charged and made it so that only people who could afford it could use it? Aside from the moral and legal issues....what about the prospect of poorly explained or misadvertised content? I highly dou t a full team of 200+ people will be installing and testing these mods before it is able to be put up for sale. It would be very easy to fake a trailer for your content, xharge a premium price and have a mod that does nothing as described. Hell, we see that all the time from AAA studios for brand new IP's.
  14. All that knowledge time and Halo Fan fare...and you can't even quote my name right. You are hardly a business man by any count. Perhaps you should take a few World Economy classes or General Business coarses first before making such bold claims about "business models not benefiting" anyone. All I see here is another childish "entitlement" attitude from someone who simply want's things for free. Here's a news flash pal, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY VIDEO GAMES! If you do not care for the way the business of gaming is going, then don't feed it, plain and simple.
  15. I don't think you understand exactly what the "pre-order" bonus material is. If you did, you wouldn't have posted a topic such as this. May I suggest you read through google searches about where bonus content comes from? In terms of Halo specifically, all bonus pre-order content are items that were cut from the original release for whatever reason. Think of them as "cuttingroom floor" items. Retailers like Gamestop, Walmart, Amazon, etc.. actually pay in order to obtain this material and have it included via pre-order bonus code. Are you honestly gonna sit there and tell me that everyone making money is wrong? The video game industry is a business afrerall. I hardly see how someone having an armor perm seperate from you, is game breaking, and or makes the "gameplay" value any different. Its not as if certain game mechanics are what is being offered as bonus items.
  16. Over the weekend, it has been confirmed that the creator of the beloved Borderland Franchise has parted ways with developer gearbox in pursuit of other adventures. The confirmation comes via Matthew's Twitter over the weekend. Snippet below... He had spoken also with PC Gamer about his departure and claims his leaving gearbox was not done out of spite, internal issues, franchise direction or any other matter internally, that it was simply just time for him to move on and find the next big thing. His leaving is at a non-critical point in the franchise as it is reported that Gearbox only recently started hiring on developers to start work on Borderlands in January, meaning that the creative development process has not even begun yet. Below is an example job posting over at Gearbox for a Tools developer. Tools developing is obviously required before any assets can be planned or created. hence the development process hasn't begun yet. So what does this mean for the future of Gearbox and Borderlands? No doubt many fans of the franchise will be saddened and dismayed by Matt's exit to the beloved game series. More importantly, this may also lead to a vast array of mixed feelings as to the outcome of the future titles for Borderlands. Can they succeed without Matthew's direct writing and creative input? Can we look to the demise of 2k Australia as a sign of things to come for Borderlands out of Matthew's hands? Only time will tell if Gearbox can continue to pump out quality story and gameplay without it's Flagship titles creator. And what does this mean for any E3 plans gearbox may have had for 2015? I am sure more news and interviews about this development are sure to follow in the coming days. As more news about his departure comes in, I will do my best to pass it on. So 343i Community, what are your thoughts about this news and what do you see for the future of Borderlands? View full article

  18. He's just mad cause Ash has her own emoticon and he aint got squat! lmao Can we move Ash up the ladder to spot #3......next to me?
  19. "Besten Scraing" it's a thing.

  20. I can clear this all up very easily. 343i CANNOT do anything for you in terms of account information and Gold Status. 343i does NOT and CANNOT dictate who has gold status and for what reason. Xbox Support only can help you with account extensions or any other account related information aside from bans from servers. Besides which, why is just now you have decided to look into this? Let me guess, your Xbox Live ran out and your looking for a quick extension until you can get enough funds to pay for it? I still have yet to see any arbitrary posting of this "supposed chat" in which you were directed to a developers website to clear up any Xbox Live status. That's like Xbox Support telling you to contact Dice/Activision because you didn't get a free month extension for Battlefield/CoD. Dice/Activision cannot do anything about it. Yes Dice may not be a part of Microsoft, but the principle is the same. You have had since what now, January to investigate into any or all account status issues...and your just doing it now? Sorry, but in my age,my wisdom with dealing with people have taught me one thing. If there is procrastination on something like this and the issue isn't looked into right away...there is usually a reason. Said reason is usually bs or laziness or just someone looking for something for free. Plain and simple.
  21. ^^^ Because that would require 75% of the Halo Community to possess any type of real intelligence.
  22. Guess I'm on board since I started this whole thing!
