Let me first start off by stating that you did indeed lay out a very nice speech with SOME facts. But in regards to the "Technological Superiority" Chief has...that is plain false. Chief's technology is one of basic Forerunner/Human design. Allow me to explain what Samus has to work with, and you will see your false claims. Samus Aran, though her body human born, has been enhanced with cybernetic components and the DNA of Metroids and Chozo; the culture who's technological prowess reached a point of "no longer being able to advance". Meaning that they had basically exhausted all methods of creating more advanced technology of their own. Samas through her advancements has broken every human limitation and comes in at a towering 6'3 at 198lbs. For a simple woman...that is big. Samus' training was rigorous even more so than master Chiefs. her training began at age 4 and ended at age 13-14. Her training grounds were not simple human constructed simulations, or already known worlds. No...her training was in the art of hunting, and incorporated training to defend and assault countless thousands of known alien species. This training lead to her joining the Galactic Federation Police, where she received more training. In terms of combat efficiency, Samus is more prepared, better trained and can handle more species of enemy than Master Chief and or The Forerunners. Her natural abilities is not her most deadly asset though. Her Power Suit is of unknown material but was built by the Chozo. The Power Suit bonds to the wearer at a biological level, making this suit's response time to the wearer instantaneous and natural. The suit also boasts a nearly 99% coverage rate of the wearer, leaving only extremely small openings in the joint area around the upper thigh. This 360 degree of protection is far more armor than any Spartan is granted. On top of the amazing flexibility and mobility the suit provides, it also has the ability to incorporate any technology regardless of design. Tell me having a suit that can mimic or enhance itself with abilities and design from any enemy...isn't the superior suit. Her suit also boasts a near infinite survival rate in space and deep water. And according to her training, the suit can also withstand countless worlds and environments regardless of nature or design. Abnormal gravity? no problem. Super heated or super cooled atmosphere? No worries. Samus can survive anywhere without the need to equip additional technology, where as the Spartans, require a different armor configuration or add-on to current suits in use. Weapons? Who needs weapons when you have an Arm Cannon! The Arm Cannon is capable of being configured instantaneously to an array of energy based projectiles as well as ballistics. The Arm Cannon has unlimited ammunition as it draws its power directly from the wearer on a bio-electrical level, in which the weapon then amplifies it's energy to create the projectiles. Full list of weapons or abilities of the Arm Cannon -Charge Beam - Ice Beam - Wave Beam - Phazon Beam - Diffusion Beam - Dark beam - Light Beam - Grappling Hook - Missle launcher I could go on for another 12-15 variants. Point is, when it comes to weapons, Samus has ANY Spartan beat. Any weapon a Spartan can carry, Samus has an exact "like" weapon to counter it, and can switch between 1-almost 34 types instantaneously. No need to carry around silly equipment. As for AI, AI has no bearing on this debate as AI is a separate being and this debate is strictly between Chief and Samus. Now lets talk about a few other things that help Samus claim superiority above all others in the Universe. She has a boosting ability that allows her to reach top mach speeds on foot in under 3 seconds. She also has the assistance of a Morph Ball ability that allows her to quickly enter, exit or otherwise take advantage of terrain and obstacles that normal species could not. With the help of the Jump ability, she can jump a second time in mid air, increasing her range. She can also use this ability to infinitely stay afloat in a spinning rotational manner, using her shields as a method of attacking know as Screw Jumping. Sounds funny yes...but more deadly than anything. Shields are a whole nother story. Since nothing is documented about her shields, it is a safe logical assumption that her shielding follows the same principles as the Spartan's, due to the fact that the Chozo designed it. All in all, Samus could claim victory very quickly over her inferior male counterpart. Samus is quicker, deadlier and trained in more various ways to hunt and take down prey than a Spartan, who was trained only to take down humans and 6 species of Covenant. Samus wins easily.

If we are going to judge the current leadership and compare our power to influence the government to that of 5 decades ago, then yes, in the past we have been able to make a difference. If you look at Administration beginning with Carter, you will see a blatant neglect for public opinion, and a lot of upfront lies to please the public into thinking that the government has their best interests in mind. And now look at the current state of our situation. We have a President who has shown no regard for the Constitution and believes that ANY order he gives to ANYONE should be followed without question. Albeit man, woman, official or otherwise. There is no strongarming anything anymore. Fact is, without large companies to back public opinion, the bills for previous net control would not have been defeated.

First off those bills were not defeated because of us. It was ultimately the "big bad companies" you spoke of that you hate so much. Perhaps you did a little digging, you would find that it was them speaking up that got Congress to turn them down. Not our insignificant petition to do so. Vietnam was neither citizen or Unilateral support that stopped the war. Vietnam was a poor war fought for a frivolous reason that was nothing more than a form of population control. I worked with a vet of Vietnam, and trust me, public opinion and protest did not stop it.

Director, as for your "weaker opponent" theory, name one specific time we the people have been able to strongarm the government into our favor? Recent events prove otherwise. Obamacare, The Patriot Act, various frivolous wars fought under the guiest of freedom. We have no power at all! We bend to the governments will at every turn.

Right, cause government regulation is awesome. Internet is new Obamacare now. Good luck with that. Do me a favor....stop drinking the Kool-Aid. The government cares very little for us and the administration. If people spent less time swallowingnwhat major news and colleges are spooning out, and more time in the actual Library of Congress, you would be better informed and very much afraid. I'll say it again....the FCC Chairman REFUSED to appear in front of congress to explain the true reach, purpose and lament terms of the bill they were voting. Majority Democrats voted blindly in favor of ot, spearheaded by the cirrwnt administration. Ask yourself, why would the writer of this bills provisions NOT want to explain to Congress and the public, what this bill really is? Oh right...cause it doesnt matter. If its voted and passed, it must be ok.

Yeah, cause that works out great so far.... Yes the Government has ultimate oversight of the Internet and it's providers because it is now considered a "utility". Calling something a utility, is basically classifying a service or good as "needed", or claiming it is a vital necessity. Which is why the only utilities we see here in the US is power, water and gas. Taxing it upfront or including taxing it in the bill directly was not defined. But rest assured, now that the government can and will, expect a nice tax increase passed off to the ISP's, then to us. The best way to explain this, is to have you look at Net Neutrality as a giant "Government Firewall". The US Government can now request, demand and otherwise legally obtain usage and browsing information about citizens. ISP's used to be able to keep that stuff private against 3rd party persons and the judicial system. Now, ISP's under Net neutrality are required to report usage information to the FCC. Additionally, because the Internet is now a "utility", the Government can and will block whatever content they want, and the ISP's have no power to negate or refuse to do so. So let's say Russia and US are having a bad rep week. US can go right ahead and cut off major news, television or anything else going into or coming in from Russia on the US side. Basically, the US can block you from reaching this forum. Also just to let you know how serious this all is, the FCC chairman and ICANN were both asked to represent and provide their in-persons support for or against this bill, and neither came. They both refused to take part in any form, allowing the bill to go through almost completely unchallenged. This bill was also introduced into Congress back in 2006. Why do you think it took nearly 10 years to finally go through, and we are just hearing about it now over major media? Surely NOT because it's not harmful in any right? I mean c'mon...if it were a good thing, it would have gone through 10 years ago right? Wrong. Bills like SOPA are exactly what this bill is meant to provide a workaround for. Sorry, I worded that last part wrong. What I meant to say was, the FCC Chairman was ordered to appear in Congress to devulge and explain exactly was fully contained in the Net Neutrality Bill. Basically, not even Congress understood the contents. The FCC Chairman refused to appear altogether. So what resulted was, Congress passed a bill they didn't fully understand. Also just a little backround infor as well. The United Kingdom, Russia, China, Korea and other smaller Russian-Europe cou tries already have "Net Neutrality" or like bills in place.

It appears my usual government file snagging websites and Library of Congress all do not have the full Bill available to view now, and only the public "watered down summary".....why I am NOT surprised. I'm gonna check a few other well known document grabbing sites to see if i can secure the full bill's pages.

Your an idiot if you buy into any of this. The Net Neutrality Act is a smokescrean to allow the GOVERNMENT to act on and control internet service as a UTILITY. Do me a favor, next time why dont you dive into the 3,000 plus pages of the act, and ask China and Korea how Net Neutrality paid off for them. This bill has nothing to do with equality and everything to do with control.

I gotta say, I'm actually interested in this. The beginning chapter do.....pure gold "Good Mourning". I love the word play on that, and it fits the tone of the story your selling. Although I don't read much outside a handful of books here and there, this looks like something I WOULD read. Good luck on this and keep us updated!

Halo 5: Guardians Leaked Trailer Screen Analysis
Twinreaper replied to VinWarrior's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Unless your all fried from too much crack, this leaked image is nowhere near the monument type, style or size from Halo 3. I've attached the actual scenario_structure_bsp from Halo 3's Epilogue map file. The monument in Halo 3 is actually a Pelican Wing. This monument from the leaked "Halo 5" is nothing like it in size, shape or texture. The words "Duty and honor" are not even on the Halo 3 monument to the fallen. If I had to wager a guess, it looks as if maybe it could be a monument located on Reach. Reach was where the bulk of humanities military forces fell, as well as a great deal of John's Spartan brethren. And if we follow the cannon timeline that Reach introduced, the last copy/fragment of Cortana was on Reach. It could be hypothesized that John returned to Reach. As a secondary guess, this could be a monument located on Earth. The wreckage seen in the landscape could be the wreckage of the Didact's ship that has not yet been cleaned up. -

Well that is actually a very easy one. As before when I mentioned "rounds per second", this tag definition number setting effects only weapons with a "continuous" spew setting, aka automatic weapons. Enjoy Wally... Halo 3 SMG: RPS: 15 Damage: 5 Range: 40 world units Halo 3 ODST SMG Silenced: RPS: 15 Damage:6 Range: 40 world units

The Battle Rifle across all titles deals less damage than the Carbine. While the BR yes, you get 3 projectiles that deal 5.333 damage each, the usual chances of all 3 shots connecting are slim. The carbine deals a solid 10 per shot, but suffers from error more than any other precision weapon. Whether or not a weapon is better than another, depends solely on the player using it, the map and who your opponent is. ANY weapon can outclass another in the hands of skilled and proficient player. But for the sake of the thread, I always preferred the BR in multiplayer, but the Carbine or DMR in Campaign. Here's the breakdown for you... Halo 2: Battle rifle: 6 Range: 40 world units Fire Rate: 15 rounds per second / 0.35 sec recovery time Carbine: 11 Range: 40 world units Fire Rate: 15 rounds per second / 0.35 sec recovery time / soft refraction allows firing as fast as trigger pulls Halo 3: Battle Rifle: 6 Range: 60 world units Fire Rate: 15 rounds per second / 0.28 sec recovery time Carbine: 10 Range: 60 world units Fire Rate: 0 rounds per second (fast as trigger pull) / 0.17 sec recovery time Halo 4: Battle Rifle: 5.333 Range: 250 world units Fire Rate: 0 rounds per second / 0.3 sec recovery time Carbine: 10 Range: 250 world units Fire Rate: same as Halo 3 To clear up confusion, the rounds per second don't actually mean anything. It's all about "recovery time". The time it takes to be able to shoot again after firing a set of shots. Setting the values to "0" in any title yields no greater firing effect. If anyone has any further questions about the weapons, let me know and I'll get you the info.

The game is still resetting ranks
Twinreaper replied to mek's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Iirc, they stated a while ago that when the new rank system goes into effect (MCC will carry to Halo 5), it will reset everyone's rank at the beginning of what they call a "season". So this rank reset may be in preparation for, or part of that new rank system implementation. -
