How can 343 and Microsoft ruin the greatest game of all time
Twinreaper replied to jnauman231's topic in General Discussion
Well the post title is a bit much. Then again, everyone who has bought the game and experienced issues has a right to be upset, no doubt about that. What it comes down to, is how effected each player was, and from what I can gather, it's players outside the UK and USA that seem to have the biggest issues overall. That being said, the OP does deserve to feel anyway he wants about the game and issues he has experienced. Not everyone is going to have the same exact issues or experience the same kind. We should all be a little more open minded to these folks and allow them to vent. It is only logical for players to attack 343i and Microsoft directly, seeing as how the previous Halo's didn't have this much trouble at launch when Bungie WAS handling the IP. That is a fact you can't deny about the situation.- 8 replies

Campaign coop with a friend over xbox live.
Twinreaper replied to Hounsell's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Hmmm that is strange. Is it doing this for all titles, or one in particular? Hopefully we can help you. If not, you will want to head over to Halowaypoint, as that is 343 official site. We are but a simple fan forum here. -
We are not the official site for 343 Industries, that would be Halowaypoint. You will want to post your issues there for 343i to see. We are but a simple fan forum.

Please fix matchmaking!
Twinreaper replied to LiveRighteous's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Sorry to hear your having an issue with matchmaking. Many of our community members are having the same issues. 343i had implemented some fixes that are slowly making progress to the MM system. For better support, you will want to head over to Halowaypoint. We are a fan forum and 343i won't likely see your issues posted here. -
As far as I know, co-op is by invite only. Sorry. Unless someone here as more information, you will want to also post this question over at 343i's official site which is Halowaypoint.

Well sorry to hear your having problems. Last we heard that the server side fix was already partially deployed. There is a console update coming this weekend. We do appreciate you sharing your issues here, but you will also want to post them on 343i Official's site, which is Halowaypoint. we are but a fan forum.

What is the lbs per square inch, of methane gas on average, does an Unggoy breather tank holds?
-
Really? Lolwut?!? Wow, Dota, GTA and AC are of no concern here. We are talking FPS, not MMO or a mix hybrid. How do you think CoD or BF or Crysis players would feel, if all the sudden after 14 years, they decided to use instant scope masks for precision weapons only, and no other weapon had an ADS? The population would throw a fit. Why? Not because they are changing to improve the game, but they are changing attributes to the game in which everyone has been groomed to use and quite honestly is not a broken feature. And don't talk down to me kid. I'm not afraid of change, I embrace it. But I do not embrace change that fundamentally shakes or shapes an object or subject in matter in such a way, that it becomes indistinguishable between other items. if it isn't broken why fix it? Let me guess, you also see nothing wrong with the shift to Common Core mathematics?

I have left the Halo franchise. Don't try to cite technology with me, you know nothing of what the Blam! engine version in halo 1-3 was capable of. The technology was there, the desire to implement it wasn't.

Well if your gonna be super technical then, how does a Spartan even know that Covenant Weapons and Forerunner Weapons are actually magnetic? And megents or not, if you had a rifle attached to your back and you were sprinting and running and jumping around, the rifle aint stayin put.

Additionally, it would also be very helpfull to post this over at HalowayPoint, as that is 343 Industries website.

Game doesn't advance past the title screen
Twinreaper replied to Joust Williams's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Well I am sorry to hear your having such an issue with the game. I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue though. We are a Community Fan forum, and if you can't find any members who can help you here, you might also want to go over to halowaypoint and ask there as well, as you may have a greater chance of 343i seeing it and getting actual company support. -
I'm tired of people constantly bringing up the whole "Super Soldier" aspect of the game. Did anyone ever complain about not being able to sprint, jump super high, have no recoil, or anything else in halo 1 through 3? No they didn't. The Super Soldier argument is recently fresh and has no credibility in Halo. Halo has always stuck to a certain set of core mechanics. ADS is such a far stray from the scoping mechanic that has been tried and try for 14 years! It isn't anywhere near broken, nor is it a disadvantage when it comes to fps cometition from rivals. There are just certain things that halo kept sticking to that made it stand out from the rest. having it play exactly like Crysis or CoD is a huge turn around in general from the "Return to Arena" statement. Do you even know what arena gameplay is? Probably not. If you weren't old enough to enjoy the first Unreal Tournament, then you don't know what real Arena gameplay is. As for not many people knowing or playing Crysis.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Everyone has heard of Crysis and it's sister game FarCry. The mechanics in Crysis are well know. Integrating them into Halo as a "copycat", not only is showing a huge movement away from what Halo was and still is, but also shows that 343i has no idea where they should be going with the Halo IP.

Seriously? You enjoy a Crysis 3 clone with halo models? Well I watched all of about a minute of gameplay and all i can say...fail! This is not a return to arena gameplay. The ADS integration is NOT the same as the zoom/scope mask as the ADS style they are using puts in a scoping/descoping time and animation, it's not instant like it usually is. And they also said that "Hip Fire", WILL offer a slightly less accurate spread than when scoped. Just the fact that they used the term "Hip Fire" saddens me. And don't even get me started on the SA's. There is nothing new, innovative or crafty about them at all. It's a direct port from Crysis. Seriously, have they no new integrations or ideas on how to bring actual new things to Halo?!? I guess not.... And what is the deal with the shields not recharging when you are sprinting? Follow up...how many people use sprint to get away from bad guys in Halo 4 and Reach during campaign play? Cause guess what? By forcing that mechanic into multiplayer, it will also work that way in campaign. So yeah, good on yah? Lolwut? Anyway feel free to agree or disagree all you want. This is just my opinion.

Hit detection issues in original Halo 2
Twinreaper replied to Colonl Charisma's topic in General Discussion
It's normal for this to happen. I can only assume that because of the platform differences between the Xbox One and the Xbox O/360, that the playing of it will be slightly different. You need to lead your opponent slightly to compensate for any lag. Similar to the leading method needed in Halo 1 PC. As a rule, you should always be slightly leading your opponent anyway. -
before I forget, someone told me to post this into my status... http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/38330-halo-2-pc-twinreapers-map-projects/

With the release of MCC and the revitalization of Halo 2, I thought it was only fitting to put up some of my recent map making additions to Halo 2 PC. Most or all of these maps are made by HAND! Powerhouse took a year and a half, and Hollow took a year also. Even the weapon sets were a pain to setup with sounds, but well worth the effort. I hope you guys enjoy this look back on what I and the H2MT have done with Halo 2, and what we still look forward to doing with future Halo PC titles, should Microsoft ever pull their heads out of their arses. Halo: The Master Chief Collection Question
Twinreaper replied to Benczek's topic in General Discussion
Each game uses it's own engine so no, you cannot use Halo 3 maps in halo 2, or Halo 1 maps in halo 3 or 4. Each particular Halo is only playable with it's original release and DLC maps. As for DLC, no I don't think there will be any additions made to the game, as it took a lot of fuss just to get all the games to use one singular UI as it is. As for player count, that's up to what version people play, and how the game goes. You can't really predict that kind of thing. Netcode is the same netcode your used to. Every multiplayer problem you had with ping, packet loss, syncing, will all be the same issues you remember. -
Halo:MCC Multiplayer Lobby Nameplate
Twinreaper replied to KC3Dogs's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
The namplates for playing all the older Halo's as well as Marathon were a Bungie.net thing. When Bungie gave up control of Halo, the nameplates went away. Unless 343i issues namplates similar, your not getting them. -
Thankyou and Goodbye, Halo (Biggles' Edition)

I can understand all your feelings on this subject. Call it getting older, or our preferred tastes changing, whatever. I get it and I am right there with you. -
Same questions apply. Need more info as to what OS, version, and if updates were automatically applied via startup.

What did you like/dislike the most about Firefight?
Twinreaper replied to Helix Amell's topic in General Discussion
I felt the same way about Spartan Ops as you feel about Firefight... The objective was the exact same as FF, survive but get rewarded with a nonsensical cutscene on a game add-on that ended up going nowhere. You had infinite lives as well. With Firefight Reach, yeah you could turn off infinite lives, but Arcade Firefight didn't have that option, it was prebuilt playlist. Had they just had one scrict version of FF that had the same ODST concept it would have been more fun. -
I disagree Director. Halo 3's emotions or lack their of, were forced. The problem with a "blank slate" character as you put it, is that even though the character is supposed to be us by proxy, the cutscenes and dialog negate that. No matter what you actually felt when playing as Chief or Six, the dialog and scenes you were in negate a lot of or any emotion you felt stepping into that character. It's not as if you were actually able to interact with the characters with your own emotion. As for Johnson, he yelled a lot. He's no different than an Elite. Johnson had 2 gears....yell and depressed. That's it. Miranda, same thing. She was monotone a lot of the time when the action dictated a more vibrant approach. think the pelican scene at the end where she holds off the brutes and the prophet. She talked cool calmly and monotone. No gasping, no sense of fear or apprehension. Even the emotional range of getting spiked in the back was equal to a fart for christ sake! At least in Reach, the characters conveyed the actual emotions and tense pauses you would expect on an actual battlefield in the cutscenes. Sometimes it isn't even the dialog that portrays emotion. The ending with Six fighting off the Zealots....it says more than any added dialog could. Just watching him fight them and the way the character is animated, you can feel the struggle to stay alive. Halo 3 had the luxury of keeping a lot of the cast and having a large disposable army of marines. Chief we all knew had to survive, as well as the Arbiter. Reach, we all knew it was doomed planet and what would become of our character. I think it was harder to write for Reach than 3 based upon the events and moving forward. Oh and before anyone comments on Chief again, how he's so emotional and loving and all....where was he when Reach fell? Oh that's right, he got his ass handed to him on a recon mission and trying to destroy one lone cruiser. He may have killed one cruiser, but he nearly bit it but was saved by Brett or Fred...can't remember which one it was. He had to retreat due to injuries and the fact that Reach was pretty much a no win. He ran away. Where was his emotion then? Nowhere that's where. It came down to Noble. Noble handed the Covenant their asses pretty much. If it weren't for the Capital Ships or the Corvette, Noble probably would have cleaned the planet of the invasion, all without Chief. Of coarse that is all theory and non-cannon timeline conjecture, but the logic fits based on the game.
