Destiny for the PC is being discussed

Well Bungie is usually pretty good when it comes to taking care of its players. I mean they even helped to save Halo PC. I have no doubt they wouldnt dissapoint with the pc version. -

Whether or not it does well on console has no impact on it's PC counterpart. Remember, every game that is produced initially, is already bought and paid for before the actual release to us. The game comes out in July I believe? All the sales will already be done and Activision will have it's multimillions weeks before we get the game. So even if the game is a complete failure and the population barely holds 1-2000 players a month later...Activision already made millions. -
I'd have to disagree with the "Community Reunited" part Biggles. There has already been a large number of rants involving the matchmaking system to support the MMC. If things are this bad now about before the community get's the retail release, imagine the rants to follow when your favorite of the title isn't chosen in the map selection voting. If anything, it's gonna cause a larger rift. Iirc, even Frank and Dan commented on how it will likely cause a rift in the community.

I would just like to take a moment to wish all the dad's here on 343i a very happy Father's Day! Today we celebrate what it is and what it means to truly be a father. Anyone can be a dad, but it takes a truly remarkable, dedicated and loving man to guide a child, raise him/her and truly become what it means to be a real "father". So here's to us guys! May your day be filled with love and joy as we get to chillax, and be waited on hand and foo.....oh wait...we don't get to do that do we? lmao Anywho, have a great day guys!!!

Spartan, the PC version will always have a higher quality of graphical rendering and effects. Think Crysis 2 and 3, and the insane amount of detail you could add and download to expand upon the already phenomenal look of the game. For all it's worth, the Xbox One and PS4 will look similar in all aspects. PS3 and 360 will look far uglier than the next gen ones. It all boils down to how efficiently the Tiger/Destiny Engine was written and how well it utilizes the "locked" and very new hardware components that the consoles provide them to work with. That's why it is also harder to develop for the PC, because of the various hardware configurations. But that isn't the hardest part to develop for. It's changing over formats to a standard not used on the console, re-writing a network model to support online gaming, and a few others. I totally saw this coming! Activision is a multi-platform company and it was only a matter of time before they made the next logical step...bringing Destiny to the PC. -

Yoko, keep the "pc master race" comments to yourself please it's annoying. -
We are not official 343. This is a community fan forum. In hopes of reaching 343's attention, you will want to go to halowaypoint.com and post there. I am curious though, how did Cops N Robbers work with halo 2? It began with CR Halo on the PC, but I don't see how it was properly enforced rule wise in Halo 2. I would very much like to hear about it's history on the title.

Matchmaking community play won't be correct
Twinreaper replied to wargod's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Your basing all this on competative play? I am basing this on overall gameplay and the capabilities of both. No modding on the console could ever compare to the PC, not even that glotchy PC to CE converter tool. For overall experience the PC was far batter. If your talking competative, then yes a console is better for that and proveovides a more solid connection since it was handles through Lan. Maybe this is news to you, but not everyone plays competative hardcore. Some of us play for fun, but I guess we're inferior for that. Having fun in a game...how ludicrous! -

Twinreaper replied to wargod's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Pc being inferior is of coarse yoir opinion. My opinion is the opposite, based on the fact that the PC version allows so much more content to be realized and extends the replay value far past any map.pack or other support that could ever be generated for a console. PC gaming is more for gamers who want ultimate control over the game they are playing, and for the modders and content developers, we simply cant get anything near acceptable for that support anywhere else but PC. In the end I really dont care. You go play your mainstream garbage console, and I will go play my awesome pc. again, garbage being my opinion. And hey, congrats on your 1 like. -

Xbc and others like Tunngle and Kai are not online multiplayer. The xbox had no host servers, they were all p2p self hosted games via LAN. Halo PC was the only way to play on dedicated servers in true online multiplayer fashion. 2vs2 on console may have been the preffered gametype, but on the PC there is no favorite. Your measly 500 matches dont equate to anything. You can find 15-20 servers constantly full 24/7 on Halo PC. Your MLG buds may rule the XBC scene, but they would gwt smacked by most players on the PC today. As for your connection argument, both LAN and hosted online engines share the same netcode. The only difference? We got updates to.fix connection issues and make the game more stable. Fact is Halo PC is one the most played games period in terms of sheer numbers of population. But you can keep posting false information if you like, I find it funny... -
Will it go back like the old times?
Twinreaper replied to Outbalanced's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Self Destruct, there were no Microsoft servers controlling Halo 2 PC all servers are rented or self hosted. The only thing Microsoft hosts is the GFWL Client, which doeant do anything outside of Live connection and product key activation, and the master server list. But the Master list host was moved to the Azure platform so no one datacenter or server now hosts it. Its virtual...in the cloud. Yrust me, it would be a cold day in hell before we PC Halo 2 die hards gave the game up for the console version. Unlike the console, we dont need the hefty Gold subscription to play it. And when Live goes down, we still have the ability to play online. -

Guess the remaining 3 remastered Maps
Twinreaper replied to SomeCreepinaVan's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
I was unaware of any issue with Backwash. I don't see how the fog would have any trouble since all the maps contain some trace of fog whether it's patchy_fog, planar fog or atmospheric fog. Headlong, Ascension and Lockout just to name a few. Could you provide the source for this removal of Backwash? -
Guess the remaining 3 remastered Maps
Twinreaper replied to SomeCreepinaVan's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Well it would be a little redundant to remake those. They already have a zillion forge variants and were remade for Reach and Halo 3. Then again, most of the 100 maps are just remakes of remakes and complete useless garbage. I said it before and I will say it again...remake GOOD maps for a change like Turf, Waterworks and Backwash -

Why Halo 3 ranks should carry over to the other games.
Twinreaper replied to TheRealJubJubBird's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Rank systems as afr as accurately pairing you is your OWN perspective. For every skill assessment system in a Halo that some one flaunts as being the best and most accurate, I can counter each one with a logical fact to the contrary. A skill system and rank system is only as good as the individual using it from his/her point of view in their Halo career. Please don't make threads that rely on your opinion being worded as fact. And that goes for everyone really. Just because you may find that a large pool of players agrees with you, does not mean that is the MAJORITY and that they all agree. Agreements don't equate to facts. -
Matchmaking community play won't be correct
Twinreaper replied to wargod's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
You've obviously never played one game of CE on the PC then. THAT is where the only CE multiplayer took place. Weird starts like Plasma Pistols, or no weapons is a common occurrence. And NOONE plays CE 2v2!?! CE does NOT need a rank system. CE is a perfect game without it, and I'm sure all the CE players out there would agree. Adding ranks to it would change the game. And on a side note, we have side apps for ranks and stats tracking already. -
Agreed rrhuntington. Microsoft needs Halo right now to help retailers move the stock they have left, and to sell the stock remaining in the MS stores, as well as drive the demand to produce more consoles. That being said, I can safely speak for the PC community and say that we don't want this collection at all. What we want, is the next title in the series (Halo 3), with a full unlocked, non-watered down HEK toolset. Asking for Halo 3 on the PC is not a totally outrageous request. And for the love of god, no STEAM! I don't need a 3rd party controlling the modding of the title with their lame ass Steam Workshop. If I make content for it, it's gonna be done by me, on my PC with my tools and nothing getting in the way. Same development pipeline as Halo CE, and we will be ecstatic! No Steam login to get to hosted servers, no login to play it, no nothing. Just executing the game, and jumping to the server list.

Fair enough, and that was why I pointed out to the OP, that he can use either style. I'm going to warn you though, many map makers on my H2MT team have already pointed out flaws in the gameplay video on Ascension that to our eyes, caught slight differentials with the grenade speed projectile, the strength of the throw, as well as the weapon firing, particularly the sniper. We have been working with halo 2 PC for nearly 7 years now and we can spot a change easily. For your sakes, I hope this was just a demo issue and not what you guys can expect with the actual retail game. Again, it could just be a side effect of the engine relying on emulation to be executed on the XB1.

Why is everyone so hell bent on selling this thing constantly stating 1080p and 60fps. News for you people.....we already uad it. It was called Halo CE and Halo 2 Vista. Yes its new to.console, but quit picking that part out like its fantastic or something. As for the art style.....this is why I hate remakes. Yes people like updated rendering to match current gen look, but also there are just as many people who do not like these things messed with. OP, this is why they give you the OPTION to ise it or not. As for your geometry concerns, they are null. The updated graphics change the look yes, but like with CEA, the collision is untouched. So no, the look of the geometry in actuality will not effect anything. Its just visuals, nothing more. Carefull with comments like that. It was the community whining and bitching that lead to the H2A and updated graphics for this collection to begin with. Had every, as you put it, BABY, had just not ever once spoke up and complained about needing an Anniversary for Halo 2 and Halo 3, you would not likely have this coming to Xbox One.

Deeply concerned about the MC Collection.
Twinreaper replied to Voltaeus's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Geometry is baked during compiling of a bsp. Resolution does not effect where the geometry is when loaded in the game engine. The point he is referrwncing is likely the way that Havok handles collision and physics. Superbounces as well as barrier ramming is a problem with Havok specific to the version used in Halo 2, which is why we dont see the phenominon in other later titles. Due to emulation and the different resorce usage of the Xbox One, it is likely the detection will be quicker and THAT effects the superbounces. Frank is likely just using his choice of words to dumb it down for a majority of the community who would not understand a full explination. Its easier to say things like, pixels shifting, rather than referrence player spacial coordinates and collision detection. -

Twinreaper replied to Voltaeus's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Ok.first off super bounces have nothing to do with "pixels", thats just a completely ridiculous misunderstanding of things. Superbounces are a result of the engine miscalculating a players location at specific points in a map. The "bounces" are a result of collision detection with the bsp. Resolution does not change the collision of a map, so I dont know what you are talking about with that. If any glitches or bugs do or do not work, it will be because of the engine itself is being loaded, used and emulated to run on the Xbox One, not something as silly as upping fidelity. Again though, this is the silly stupid regressive gameplay you all wanted back so much, and to 343 if they happen to read any of this, this is what you get for trying to recreate an experience and game that should be left to the ages. Milking and reviving old games, does not a fun gameplay make. Especially on new hardware meant for greater things. Total waste of time and money. And for the record, Microsoft already made its money off of consoles. The only remaining sales they stand to make, are from consoles still available for purchase through its own stores. Every console you see in a nkn Microsoft store, has already been purchased, and those sales finalized with Microsoft. Manufacturing more consoles for retailers to sell, is what this whole MMC title is really about. Supply and demand...thats what it comes down to. I.dont know what Frankie is.talking about with that being the cause. Superbounces are explained in various VidOCs from Bungie. Maybe Frank shaved away some of his brain when shaving his head. The only thing that might cause gmitches that rely on geometry to work, would be the updated graphics mode of Halo 2. That being said, they didnt change the collision models in CEA when running the game on new mode, so I dont see why they would allow it with H2A. -
