Connected an A2DP bluetooth receiver to PC with bluetooth dongle
Twinreaper replied to Tommy's topic in Tech Center
Ok then yes, you need the drivers. I am assuming they didn't come with it so you will need to do this.... 1. Go into "Device Manager" and try to locate the attached hardware. This might have a "?" next to it, or not at all, forcing you to locate it by going thru all connected ports on the USB controller. 2. Once you find the thing, go into it's properties view, and select to update the driver. 3. Choose the method of selecting a driver spcifically from a list the PC has on file. I forget exactly what steps and it depends on your OS. Either way, you want to select the driver manually. 4. Once you get to the driver list, you are looking for 'Microsoft Common Control for Windows Class" This driver is used by the 360 wireless receiver as the one that comes with the product doesn't work. Chances are, since the dongle is basically a receiver, that this driver will work for you. -
Connected an A2DP bluetooth receiver to PC with bluetooth dongle
Twinreaper replied to Tommy's topic in Tech Center
The dongle was one of the links right? If so, that is your problem. the dongle is just a middleman. it relays the signal from bluetooth capable - bluetooth capable devices. Without a cord or physical connection to the desktop, there is no way for the dongle or any other device to connect or talk to bluetooth devices. That is why it works on a tablet and pohone...both have bluetooth built in. -
Unfortunatly, the magnets are simply just the vertices of the objects. not all the verts are hotspotted for use, but that is why they are where they are.

I can attest to that. I used to play on straight 3's until around the time Halo 3 came out, then had to play on a 1. even now when I revisit the games, I have to use a 1 to play. I think it does have something to do with how we age and how are reasonable thinking skills coupled with reflexes acts as we get older. It's funny...in games my reflexes suck, but in real life, they are sharper than ever.

Connected an A2DP bluetooth receiver to PC with bluetooth dongle
Twinreaper replied to Tommy's topic in Tech Center
Well I can only assume that by PC you mean you tried getting it to work with a desktop. If that is the case, you need a bluetooth receiver or bluetooth card to enable that functionality with e desktop. No wireless card today, that i know of has bluetooth bundled with it. But on the other hand, most laptops DO have bluetooth functionality bundled with it. I suggest you try to test the setup with a freind or family members laptop to ensure the product does indeed work, before you go out and buy an actual bluetooth adapter. I did however notice that the product does have a nice 35mm jack. You could connect that to the desktop speakers, and pump the sound thru it that way. This way you cut out the middleman altogether. -

What type of wired connection is supplied with the units, and could you please give me a link to the actual product? From there I can most certaintly help you brony. -
That reminds me of the RvB PSA on controller sharing...lmao Funniest PSA ever!

Suprisingly, no one even mentioned the fact that you get a nice charge n play cable along with an actual rechargable battery pack....no messy AA bats to change out. Just plug and go....and the controller is a beast too.

While I normally wouldnt agree with it being OP, just tha fact that that spawning with it, and the easily doable reload glitch, make this weapon a major hassle. I get it... not everyone uses the glitch, but it only takes a few to ruin it for everyone.

Although I usually hold off from posting things premateur, I will.say this.... Using Cryengine 3, I have already begun planning and recruiting for a team to get a solid campaign and competative multiplayer ODST 2 going. I have a prelim story and enemies all.worked out, at this point I just lack the time and ability to.accomplish it allbmyself. If anyone is interested, please contact me or Derp about the team.

One guy is not going to save the mantis and kill the laser grabber. Ive seen matches where 3 skilled players took down a full opposite team. If you cant hold down your fort for one to two minutes before an even team is established in the case youbstated, then there is more to it then what your dewcribing. Sounds to me like effective teamwork is your weak point.

Although on PC, need I remind everyone that Halo 1 is a JIP game at all times, unless the particular server you are in is full. Halo 1 is still a very popular game and widely played today. A good example of how and when JIP works. A match can always have an unbalanced team at any time. JIP helps to remedy that situation and no it wouldntbalaways take between 30 seconds to one minute longer in the lobby. Chances are, that on average during a non peak Live day, you could quite possibly wait between 2 to 3 minutes. Most playerslike to boot up and play, not spend over half of their MM time waiting for a full party all the time.

I have to agree Victory. The turrets lack stopping power, and the aiming, and speed at which the turret moves when aiming is off. I play on 1 sense setting, and that turret definatly moves faster when aiming then when I am on foot. Second, yeah, the warthog is weak in both physics and momentum/movement/turning. Lastly I cannot even use the guass since the reticule has no point of origin center indicator. Each shot is like firing blind, and the rate is very weak. Especially noticable when trying to take out 2 attacking ghosts. Your lucky if you get q chance to fire twice before the hog goes kapoot.

Anyone still play Halo 2 (PC) anymore? I do! :D

Halo 4 complaints (Serious spoilers once you get to Campaign)
Twinreaper replied to Adam Root4me's topic in Halo 4
Ok, I'm gonna try to answer your Campaign faults as simply and logically as possible. 1. The Didact uses his "Composer" weapon to transmutate all liiving semi sentient beings into mechanical beings, that is what it does, and that is how he had intended to consume and conquer the flood. At least that part I think is confimed both in-game and by the books. 2. The Didact had some sort of "controlling" power, but beyond simply using some sort of gravity wave to hold people in place or shove them, I doubt he has the ability to manipulate matter or cause serious telekinetic harm. Not to mention he needed the chief, as the Didact had plans for him, and Cortana. At least from the dialog that is something that one can naturally get out of it. 3. Using an AI to control the armor completely and dictate it's movements is not logical. Even if Cortana were to assume control of the armor and force Chief's movements, his body would restrict those movements, since his brain could not even begin to keep up with the electronic impulses sent to his muscles to mirror her moves. Simply put, it would actually decrease his speed and efficiency. 4. Cortana's rampancy is not why she was able to save chief and take down Didacts shields. She simply copied herself into the Composer's system. She has used this technique before for data reconosence. In fact, during the Fall of Reach, the book outlines how Cortana used a copy of herself to retrieve data from a forerunner facility during the conflict. 5. Cortana cannot hack everything in seconds. Usually what happens, is that she utilizes her unique AI qualities "being cloned from living tissue", to extend her abilities beyond typical AI. That beign said, Forerunner architecture is still relatively new to her. She simply does not posses the expereince or unique skill to master it quite yet. Additionally, the Librarian may ahve given her extended knowledge during the time she removed Cortana from the systems on Requiem, before Chief got her back. 6. I have never seen a second slot or any other slot utilized on Chief's armor throughout the entire series. if you could pinpoint this for us, it would be helpfull. 7. Cortana does not talk to Chief directly per say. She utilizes the armor's own enviromental scanning tech to transfer HUD data to herslef. This is also how she is able to scan and recieve data about Chief's position, enemy movement etc... The hardlight thing...I can only assume that you are talking about the end where she actually materializes and touches Chief. That was due yes, to her manipulating the energy of the Hardlight Shield. But due to her excessive copying prior to that moment, she did not leave herself with a full "being" as you could say. At that moment, she was only a fraction of what she was, as she had to shed the excess to achieve the overcoming of the didact. 8. In order for Cortana to send herself to the Infinity, she would have to be physically plugged into the system via the chip, or have the Infinity initiate a transfer protocol. She simply can't just beam herslef anywhere she wants at any time. if that were the case, Chief would not need to insert her into the systems on Requiem. As for her clones at the end in relavence to this, she was communicating to those clones as she would chief. She had already sent her plan in motion and simply only needed to call out to them. remember, she doesn't have to make an actual sound. 9. In terms of real time, it is not as if the Earth defenses really had a couple hours to prepare for the Didacts arrival. Playing the campaign gives you a different feeling in terms of time elapsed. In real time according to the game, the Didact likely arrived, and Earth had about 20 minutes to respond. Not enough time to coordinate a defensive line. 10. The Didact was limited in his reach with Requiems systems. The Librarian likely did not and could not restrict simple protocols that were already in place. Further, the Librarian was not present on the Ark in Halo 3. What portal did you want them to change anyway? They never went through a portal. The Arbiter was not recovered on earth that i know of...? The half of the Dawn that Chief was on, simply got blown from the explosion and drifted to Requiem by coincidence. 11. The part about the Librarian is misconstrued. What she is trying to explain, is that she planted the seeds, but had no control over when and where they would emerge or come out. Same goes with the Covie and Flood. She very well could plant certain genetic markers and what not, but nothing she plants can effectively control ones destiny as in making enemies, over thousands of years of natural evolution. At this point, she is simply using Chief as a referrence, and could have used anyone of human decendance to enhance and mutate them...or whatever the hell she did to Chief. 12. Yes the Didact loves the mantle. Afterall it was handed down to, or should i say, forecfully removed from the Precursors to the Forerunners. That said, Humans were destined to take-up the mantle. Part of that, from the books, is preserving all life in the galaxy, but not at the expense of risking that very life in the process. By not using the Halo array, we effectively went against what the mantle stood for in the eyes of the Didact. Also, after the firing of the Halo array, a fleet of repopulating ships would have yet again, seeded the galaxy with another generation of life. that is what the rings were designed for in the first place, after removing all life. 13. The relationship between the Didact and the Librarian is simply put, as sad love story. she loved him and still does. And Didact loves her. Think about it...if your wife was evil, and say commited crimes, and you know you could simply kill her...would you be able to? If you have ever been married or in a very serious relationship...you know that this is something you would likely not be able to do. This is why she enhances Chief and basically sends him to do it. Can it be called weak...yes it can be. But saying it is, negates all her feelings or the bond they share for eternity. Love goes far beyond right and wrong, and can create situations where you cannot or won't do what is hard. As for your story, it simply does not retain any of the information gained from the novels, nor does it fit with what happened between Halo 3 and halo 4. The Covenant are disbanded entirely. All of the Sanghelli left, or at least on the arbiter's side, have to re-learn how to use and repair the technology they used for so long. The arbiter himslef is also still at this point in relation to halo 4, trying to reunite Sanghellos, and therefore would not be bothered to even try to track down MC, which would be impossible anyway, since he or anyone else on Sanghellos does not know where or what Requiem is. The particular Covenant branch we face is an old offshoot branch that has been in deep space since right before Reach. They simply sided with the Didact since he is Forerunner, something they worship. it is likely that the Covenant had communications with the Didact prior to Chiefs arrival. Why do you think the Covenant attack Chief? If they had been from the same branch and place where halo 3 and Reach took place, they would be well aware of what has happened. but they seem to only know and call Chief "Demon". Aside from that, they still have the same "kill" order on his head. That fact alone **** ahuge whole in your story. Aside from that, c'mon...Cortana would not be easily fooled about a cure for her Rampancy. She was unique..one of a kind. only one person knows enough about her and her creation to fix her. She wouldn't have been fooled...not even in a rampant state. -
Yeah I see what happened. basically the xbox collects and stores all your data, and then syncs and updates your Waypoint profile to reflect your achievments. The dumb part is, unless those achievments or milestones are completed while connected to Live, it does not give you the credit for them. I feel your pain for that one my friend. It sucks about the router issue. If your open to it, I would be more than happy to try to help you with it. If you decide to accept the help, just shoot me a PM with info like router model, how many pc's or devices are in the house etc... I'll do my very best to help you out.

Thats just the thing Riseing, you didn't even clarify a point, nor have you backed up the point. The post was just all opinion, with nothing to showcase why your opinion formed the way it did. making statements like "It plays like CoD", without showing anything to back that up, just makes you sound like a whiner with no thought behind his reasoning. THAT was the point I made in my post. I even went so far as to explain how and why you may be possibly feeling the way you do in MM...but whatever. if you want to just come in here and ***** mindlessly, feel free to do so. And Dawn Wolf, well put my friend. Good to see we didn't gain yet another mindless, thoughtless member.

Fixed = No physics/collision move it. In previous games it was labeled as "Unmovable" in the tags. Fixed will make any object not respond to physics or collision...aka hitting and moving it with stuff. Phased = Means that you can just simply make it spawn or appear inside of other collidable objects. Because it is made to do so, any physic or collision responses don't move it. If it could recieve said collision or physics, it would be thrown out of the map, or take off like a rocket due to it recieving the collision response from the object it is phased into. Normal = Means that any physics or collision response the object has, simply operates at it's default settings. Not all objects are designed to be moved, and some of them may have had theat aspect removed. While yes I agree that it can be frustrating, I'm sure they did for a reason. Again though, they could have simply increased the mass of the object, requiring more force to move soemthing. Hopefully this helkps you understand what you were trying to point out a little better.

Bigger question is, why is Xbox Live not signing you in automatically? Anytime someone logs into their Xbox and loads up their profile, Live will sign you into the Live servers so it can sync your player data. So the big question is, why did you play offline in the first place? I'm suspecting there is something not 100% about your xbox....

Riseing, your argument is completely without any merit. Simply because you cannot successfully combat people who you claim are "newer" to the franchise, just simply shows that you cannot and could not completely adapt to the new gameplay, nor successfully outwit or properly pay attention to players loadouts. The reason they give you access to multiple loadouts, is sot that you can choose counter-active measures against players who give you a big challenge in-game. By not utilizing a proper loadout, you fail to completely compensate for any issues you may face in battle. As for the PP, it does not stun long. They changed the vehicle reaction time to stunning to be quite a bit less than in previous Halo's. The reason behind this was likely the fact that players could spawn with one, and they saw the PP spam fest coming ahead of time. Also, charging the PP takes a slight bit longer, and also drains the energy of the weapon as you hold the trigger down. So in reality, the changes negated anyone from charging one, and just sitting there waiting to spam people with it. Again, a moot and not very thought out response on that one my friend. For that matter...when and where are these "power weapons" that are handed out like candy? Last time I played....people were fighting tooth and nail over the spawn point of the power weapons on the map by default. Also, where do you get off thinking that just because you play Halo for more time than someone else, that it should equate to you being better? Time put in, does not make you better than the next person in anything that you do. It is all about how you effectively apply the expereince going forward. Not everyone can effectively apply what they learn, or retain that knowledge. It is human nature, and it works against us at multiple times. As for Halo 4 not having Halo roots, again, Halo means different things to everyone. Yes it will not please all people, but you cannot say that a game has no "Halo roots". It is Halo in the end, and it was made in the same fashion as the others. Newer features or tweaks does not make something not a part of the original expereince, it is YOU who sees it as such, and your opinion cannot be counted as fact nor proof that Halo 4 has failed. If you want to prove that Halo 4 is just bad or wrong in any aspect, you need to show data or examples that clearly dictate the point you are trying to make. For example, look at my posts about Halo 4. I can give and cite a myriad of comparison data and proof to show why I feel the way I do, and prove where they took 5 steps back with the title. Again people...unless you can contribute something meaningfull to threads like this, stay the hell out and keep it shorter than it becomes. Spamming and posting nonsense makes it harder to read thru these threads and find relevance.
-
Jan, how does this even apply or help with the thread. if you can't post any information or help the OP at all understand what is happenening, then stay out of it. As for proof...you can google tons of XEX hacks for aimbots, as well as a few standalone applications for tweaking map files. I would do the leg work for you...but that wouldn't teach you anything...you know..having others do your work for you. As for my skill, I don't play matchmaking. I dont care for it, and never will. I much prefer fun customs and campaign.

Looking For Game Dev Team For PC/Xbox 360 Indie Game!
Twinreaper replied to Slenderman's topic in General Discussion
C++, and C# are not scripting languages...they are frameworks (base code language). Scripting would be LUA, XML and Unicode. Right now, LUA is the most widely used scripting language. Additionally, if your going to make a complete new game or tweaked or modified source base, you cannot use Cryengine, as the absolute source requires a licence...which is pretty steep atm. Unreal is ok, but for graphics, particle effects and animation, you want to stick with Cryengine.- 30 replies

The entire problem stems from their switch to the newer Azure Cloud Sevrer models. When Bungie had control over things, they kinda dictated to Microsoft what was needed, and made sure they released a Beta to help support and to work bugs out of, said servers and netcode. Halo 4 was a huge switch to Cloud Server based OS, and the fact that they did not release a worldwide public Beta, did not help them at all to identify problems or hic-ups early on. Now that the masses have flooded the MM, they are stuck trying to resolve problems that would have likely took 2-3 months to fix up perfectly after a beta. But now with people gaming it changes the way they need to fix it, and how they go about it. it is going to be a long bumpy ride my friends...

Always haters when it comes to CoD. Aside from pointless garbage, can anyone fully explain how it does not deserve the amount of money it makes? All I see is a game that gives it fans what it wants...
