ONI have always been villains. Kidnapping kids, trying to wipe out the elites, (Though personally I think the elites deserve it.) everyone in the UNSC hates them.

All prometheans wepons as Power Guns.
PlexVanguard replied to Spartan Rider's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
English please? Though I like the crysis-esque making of the alien guns super powerful, thats not halo. (And quit complaining about the DMR.) -
Commando or JFO.

Bring Linda,Fred and Kelly Into Halo 5
PlexVanguard replied to ALIEN INVADER X's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Totally, it would give chief reason to fight again if he knew the rest of blue team was alive. I want to see the Spartans working together. -
I know it was stranded without a shaw-fujikawa drive, and I know 3 years after the event on the flood controlled shield world they were marked lost-in-space. But I wonder if it may ever be found by the UNSC.

Only for passengers and gunners. -

Why did the UNSC never try chemical/bio weapons?
PlexVanguard replied to Benchimus's topic in Halo 4
First off, the Bio weapon would only ever infect one species. Secondly, it would only affect a very controlled area, even with a super weapon, all they could infect is a whole planet. I am pretty sure the UNSC has gased covenant barracks, and then sent in HAZOP kill teams to dispose of the grunts. (Who gas would not effect.) the fact that sanghellios is the home world of the elites is the only reason ONI is trying to use a bio weapon. -
I did something like this, but I could kill engineers. I lasted an our before I got bored and left.
-
But they never worked well in the first place. It takes at least 3 marines to be effective with them.
-
In the human covenant war they clearly demonstrated that they are significantly sub-par in fighting covenant when compared to other weapons in their arsenal. Other than its reliability and cheapness, I don't see any reasons to use it. Heck, in halo 4 the pistol is more practical and it costs less. Anyone have an explanation for why they still hang around? (Other than gameplay reasons.)

ONI has always been pricks. No one likes them, not even the Spartans they created. They are having the elites beat eachother so badly that they cannot wage war for centuries. Smart? Yes. Cruel? Also yes. But I don't sympathize with the elites, I have hated them since halo 1, even though the sided with us in the end, they still committed genocide for decades, killing trillions. They brought this upon themselves, and they deserve every inch of death and suffering they receive. (Dont think I don't like elites as characters, they make wonderful villains, and the Arbiter is one of my favorite protagonists. They are, in their own words, paying for their own trangressions with a sacrament of blood.)

RoTS, an amazing machinima, and one of the few good serious ones.

I feel like it has some sort of use but I can't figure out what.

I propose an alternate idea, remember how in the first ODST their original mission was to board a covenant ship? How about the plot to ODST 2 be set earlier in to the human covenant war, with a company of ODSTs attempting to board a covenant destroyer, upload an AI to take control of the ship, and fly it back to human space, so that they can study it and use it to listen in on covenant transmissions. You typically use silenced smgs and silenced pistols, but also have the AR, and a DMR(plus a silenced DMR found in a secret location.

I liked it. It showed people what the war was like in the early days of the human covenant war, and tells a good story in the process.

The Official What You Do and Do Not want in Halo 5 Thread
PlexVanguard replied to SatanicBagels's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
More diversity on spartan ops/firefight. How about a stealth mission where you free UNSC troopers from a covenant prison. By the end of it you could have an AI army of up to 40. Then you have to launch a massive attack against a barricade to end the mission. I want more diversity. -
I say bring back the falcon and the hornet. Both were teamwork based vehicles with different uses.
-
The flood can't be in spartan ops, because any infestation would be eradicated by the Prometheans ASAP. The flood is only deadly because it can take root and mutate.
-
I only wonder why. Granted, the role of superior friendly AI has been taken by the spartan fours, but I feel like the ODSTs were far better, they could actually aim, they took cover, ect, ect. But the spartan fours seem like the special Ed Spartans, their range is so bad, and they hesitate to shoot so often. I don't care if they have shields or not, they are a disgrace.

Is Halo 5 going to be a Halo game?
PlexVanguard replied to Isaac Kleiner's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
As a child I got halo 2 as a gift, and loved it. I continued enjoying every halo since then for what is was worth. Granted, I find the multiplayer lacking, but for different reasons. Perks are so insignificant that they don't make up for lack of skill, sprint adds a great new combat dynamic, and none of the armor abilities are crutches like armor lock was in halo reach. Honestly, if you can't hit a guy using a jetpack, then you have no right to be playing competitively. I do want a barebones gametype, and I do want the removal of kill streaks, but they aren't what makes the multiplayer bad. The enormous lack of good gametypes is the problem, but that is for another thread. -
TL;DR at the bottom. This is an asymmetric gametype between a team of 8 Spartans, and a team of 8 Prometheans. The Spartans spawn with custom classes of their choice, and have 3 objectives to complete. These objectives vary, but consist of stuff like, capture this area, or plant this bomb. the third objective is always an EVAC. Each spartan has 3 lives, including the one you spawn with. The prometheans have a resource pool of 10,000 which cannot be replenished. Various Promethean units have varying costs, and some are not unlocked until the later stage. Prometheans get these classes by stage 1: Crawler (Boltshot, sprint, very weak, can climb walls) for 10 resource points, or a crawler alpha, which has a suppressor for 15 points. Also avalible are Promethean knights with either suppressors or light rifles for 100. On stage 2 they unlock a watcher (can fly, only has a boltshot, but can spawn crawlers, reverse grenades, and give shields.) For 500. sentinels for 100. And Promethean Battle wagons and commanders for 300 and 750, respectivley. They keep the stage 1 prometheans as well. On stage 3 they unlock an enforcer (remember him from halo 2?) for 2000, a crawler sniper for 1000, a promethean stalker for 1500, (a cloaked very fast but melee only Promethean) and a promethean Commander heavy (with incineration cannon.) for 2000. TL;DR: Limited life spartans are hunted by promeathans with a resource pool and varying types of enemies to hunt and stop the spartans from completing their objectives. What do you think? This is just my rough outline of the gametype, and If i was in 343, I would want everything to be fully customizatable. For a rough concept, how does it fare?

The Official What You Do and Do Not want in Halo 5 Thread
PlexVanguard replied to SatanicBagels's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
More prometheans. The three kinds we got were awesome, but eventually got repetitive, and less diverse than covenant. How about a promethean stalker, with cloak, holograms, and as fast as a sprinting jackal, but with only melee. Or a promethean juggernaut, which is kinda like a hunter, only it has a hardlight turret (like a plasma cannon but with less shield damage and a faster fire rate.) SMG needs to return, and so do ODSTs. Improve the friendly AI, they are dumb as can be and have the aim of a cross-eyed bull. Bring back brute weapons (and brutes for one or two campaign missions.) Multiplayer elites/ prometheans. For invasion. Make a better forge.
