Alright. I know not everyone will agree with me on this thread. So all I ask is that you refrain from flaming and personal attacks.
I've been an avid Halo fan since the very first Halo. I've played them all, even though waypoint doesn't show that I've played Reach, that's kind of weird. Anyway. In previous games one person could change the tide of a game with a shotgun. In Halo 4, I don't really see that anymore.
There will always be those few people that will wait behind corners with them. But for the most part, that rarely happens anymore. It seems like in Halo 4 the combat style is very different. The majority of players start of with a BR or DMR, which gives people the ability to take down a shotgun wielder form a distance. In the previous Halo games everyone started with an AR until you could find a long range weapon. I think that forced people to get up close and personal with the person they were attacking, which made close quarter weapons much more useful.
I know they've integrated a few new shotgun type weapons in this game, the scatter shot and bolt shot to be exact. I have only been killed by the scattershot a few times and the bolt shot a handful of times. And to be honest I don't ever remember being killed by the UNSC shotgun. I'm sure I have, but I just don't remember it. Now this thread is based on my experience playing the game. I tend to play Big Team Battle, Slayer, Capture the Flag, and Oddball. And again rarely see shotgun type weapons. Except for while playing Oddball, and even then the weapons aren't very effective.
I'm curious if others have had the same experience as I have. Again I know a lot people don't agree with this. And topics like this can get very heated. Please be respectful. If you disagree with me, I understand but can you elaborate as to why. I know every person seems to have a different experience when playing the game.
