My three categories are pretty unrelated, list-wise, but here-goes... Overall: Muse They just make some amazing music. They can write heavy, soft, mellow, crazy, happy, sad, catchy, offbeat, or anything in between and put on an amazing show while making it look easy. Full discolure: My love for their is probably pretty biased. Knights of Cydonia's intro was the first guitar riff I had ever played, and now I'm two years into playing the instrument. --- Hard Rock: Avenged Sevenfold They just have this way with writing music that makes me want more. (@ the OP: I saw them with Three Days Grace at Uproar 2011. Both were equally amazing live.) --- Musically: Red Hot Chili Peppers They carve their own path, and actively search for new ways to make their songs better. They find ways to elevate their writing to new, weirdly-high levels. All that, and all of them are passionate about their roles in the band, and the instruments that they are working with.
