  1. Here is the link to the forum post where I announced it and posted pics and coordinates. Let me know if you have any trouble finding it. CV :wallbash:
  2. There should be a Forums award for exceeding the Like limit more than once. I would definitely qualify for that.

Then people would spam for that award, bad idea :P

I know, but I just laugh whenever that message pops up.

  3. Back when I was still playing Halo 3 someone loaded a modded map on Valhalla that had hundreds of extra trees. It was the BEST Team Snipers map ever. If I could add trees to the Halo 4 version....... CV
  4. I like Fog. Lots of Fog. And yes, Fog and other weather effects would be a wonderful addition to Forged Maps. CV :wallbash:
  5. I like your suggestions. I know the Forge could be so much more powerful than it is. One of my suggestions over the years has been to have a novice or beginner mode, such as the one we all use now, and an advanced mode, with several functions that require time and learning. I think the Forge as we know it is dumbed down on purpose, so giving Forgers the option to use Basic and Advanced Forge Mode might resolve this issue and give so many hardcore dedicated Forgers what they have been asking for while not alienating beginner Forgers. I don't know. Just a thought. CV :wallbash:
  6. I think there will always be people who want to complain. Personally, I grew so bored with Reach that I sold the game and bought Battlefield 3 while I waited for Halo 4. I was struck by the lack of distinctive coloring--the grey blandness of it all. Halo 4 has surpassed this fundamental flaw, and maps can have much better distinction and less blandness when done properly. Forge will never be everything we want, and the limitations are actually a benefit at times because limitations sometimes force creativity. CV
  7. Will it have a retractable ladder? Well, seriously, I would love to create a map utilizing the elevator trick. Seems a tree house would benefit from elevators. CV
  8. Bacon, Did you ever get your question answered? Weapon placement is not my strong point, but I have been forging for a long time and can give some advice. It would help to preview the map together in forge. That is the best way anybody can offer real advice. CV
  9. When I started out in November I was primarly in Impact--my first two maps--because I like the way the lighting plays out--but then I took an interest in Erosion--I like forging up in the ceiling with the stalactites and the stone pillar that touches floor to ceiling. And of course there is the tower. I know this post is old but I am bored so I feel like refreshing it with my own thoughts. At this point this thread could be updated or restarted with Forge Islands included. CV :wallbash:
  10. I will check in with you once my xbox is up and running (old one blew the vid card, new one in the mail). CV
  11. One can only hope that the magnets will be fixed based on all the feedback from the forge community. I think they are a great idea, but I agree that they should be placed using precision, not guesstimation techniques. I hope with the next Forge the magnets pull objects a little closer together too, And it might be useful to give forgers the ability to add magnets to objects or modify magnet locations for specific forging elements. CV :wallbash:
  12. I haven't seen it yet. Saw it on the local Blockbuster shelves, but it closed before I could pick it up to preview. I will have to get it on Netflix. CV
  13. I just use Forerunner vision before entering buildings and other potential camo campers. You just have to change your tactics depending on the situation. For me I usually get the kill on campers, even when I don't employ Forerunner vision, because they usually camp out in the same spot, so I just nade the crap out of them, use forerunner vision to watch them die or move, than persue for the kill. Also, heavy weapons like rockets and fuel rods come in really handy for forcing campers out of their holes. CV
  14. Cool. There can never be too many places to submit maps to. I have one with a custom gametype that only needs the spawn points set, but unfortunately I am waiting for my new xbox to arrive (old one bit the dust, not willing to get another refurbished one from Microsoft again). I am following this post so I can follow the links when I am back on xbl and H4. CV :wallbash:
  15. I will definitely be breaking into the interior of the islands, esp the largest one. I have some ideas for large and small styled maps, but unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it until I have my new 360. CV
  16. You can also hold an object near the island, just like the stalagmites in Erosion. In fact, in Erosion there is a hole in the top of the largest rock pillar where you can fly inside with the monitor. CV
  17. If you haven't seen this thread in Halo4 Forge, check it out. OOB area on Islands: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/27578-forge-island-broke-birth-of-the-bog/

  18. Well, not true for me. I actually enjoy being infected more with Halo 4 Flood--they've leveled the playing field a bit. As for the gametype, it is an honor game, which just means when people play it they agree to the rules. That is the only way it could work in Halo 4, assuming we can change it to allowing team changing in custom settings. I can't remember and I won't be able to check till later this week. I don't know if people would get it, or wouldn't break the rules, but I will try and set it up once I get back on. CV
  19. Well, whenever my xbox gets here I will give it a shot. I had just finished the architecture on a map (very detailed) been working on since December (and a gametype I created in Reach) when my xbox burnt out. All I needed to do was finish setting spawns. Grrr. CV
  20. I will have to check it out (when my new 360 finally arrives, a week and waiting...). I was thinking, as far as a basic Flood variant like I described goes, it would have to be under the current limitations, as you stated, an honor game, but I think it would be possible by having team switching open (if that is possible with Flood). I can't say this is possible right now because my xbox is fried, so my only connection to the game now is the forums, but I will check when my new one arrives next week some time. I have an idea for a map utilizing elevators, switches and other methos of trapping Flood. If team switching works, than when a Flood is caught they just switch teams and become a survivor. Frustrating not being able to Forge and play competitive gaming when I want to. Oh well...... CV
  21. Oh, that's right. I saw a few ads for the new Alien's game. I have been wishing for many years that a truly decent Aliens FPS game would turn up. I still want to try out the game. I think the makers of Battlefield would be the best qualified to make it happen, in my opinion, but I think 343 could pull it off. CV
  22. I love Alien/Aliens (only those two). I will have to check out that book(?) CV
  23. Hey, what was it called. I missed that post you made. Repost to this thread and (when my new xbox arrives--old one fried) I will look it up. Sounds really interesting.CV
