People need to understand, the faults and differences we bring up on these forums aren't complaints. They are concerns. I get on the forums and go on about shield recharge delay, ordnance, and other things that annoy me because I LOVE the halo franchise. After playing each title since the series' inception, for multiple years of competitive devotion to each title, you start to notice when somethings are just...off or clearly shouldn't be as they are. I could start rattling off the things done wrong in this game, but I could also do that just as much for halo reach. And maybe, just maybe someone from 343i frequents these forums just for the hell of it, and will see one of bloody initiates posts or others and be like: "oh my god! What have we done?!" and try to address some really no brainier issues effecting the game right now. Initiates Exile point is one such thing, it should require very little to alter what spawns where on a map. Another thing that's been really bugging me, they go with a perk system in halo 4, but it's not nearly as good as the games it copies. They copy custom classes, but once again not nearly as in depth as the main custom class game. They copy instant re-spawning in slayer, but it just feels out of place. 343i Had a chance to go back to what made halo a industry leader in the first place, I swear to god the most successful halo will be one that returns to it's series roots, as Halo reach and Halo 4 have both lost the spirit of halo in my eyes with their WORSE game-play ideas implemented. Armor abilities anyone?

Try the game with Mythic tilt tough luck and thunderstorm. It's actually easier at some points as Chief gets the effects of mythic and tilt it seems. A melee from a knight doesn't even drop your shields with those skulls on!

Yeah, Halo reach began the downfall of halo with the introduction of Armor abilities. The old guard/fans of halo all saw this coming. If I had to pick one thing that Reach broke from the halo formula for success (aka a FUN, Competitive game), it wouldn't be the fact that spartans were slower and couldn't jump as high, it wouldn't be the retarded bloom on weapons, and not even the massively overpowered banshee or the stupidly broken shield melee mechanics. No the biggest gripe I had with the game was Armor abilities.

As long as the compensation isn't as drastic as COD's system these days. It does much more lag then it prevents.

Sometimes I'll do stupid things to abuse instant respawn system and the increased shield delays. On exile there were two guys camping with DMR's near the Gauss hog base on the approach leading to the scorpion tank, so I suicide sprint and toss two grenades as they quickly dmr me to death, I instantly respawn (in range of them naturally) and dust both of the guys off with a DMR head shot to each one. That would have never been remotely possible in other halos. I wouldn't have been able to RESUME my previous life's damage on the enemy team. They would recover, and I would be a grenade happy noob; that is, if I employed such tactics in other halos.

Load-outs, along with ordnance are a travesty in a halo title.

I thought the PREVIOUS shield recharge delay was annoying. So you can imagine how much I hate this one. It doesn't even make any sense from a canonical perspective either. Newer generation Spartans have inferior shield charge delay?

Wait...there is a commendation for perfections...there are CHALLENGES for perfections, but there is no perfection medal? That is one of the dumbest things I've heard of in this game. Medals are just messed up in this game. They have a different medal for getting a generic kill with any weapon, or a special weapon, but not incremental sprees like Slice and dice, or Hammer time, or open season.

Whats really been ******** me off lately about the bolt shot is it straight up beats the scatter shot. Bolt shot vs. Scatter shot the bolt shot comes up on top almost every time. The bolt shot needs to be not a spawn weapon. It functions fine but you should never be able to spawn with something that can OHKO, no melee, no further input needed to kill. Why not spawn people with scattershots for secondaries? The bolt shot beats it at close range so who cares at this point? I'm being sarcastic but seriously...nerf this weapon, and make it worthless, or remove it from loadouts and make it a weapon on maps and ordnance. The one hit kill range is too long. If you disagree then you obviously haven't been hit or hit someone at it's maximum distance, it's pretty insane. Maybe double the one hit kill threshold for the scatter shot and maybe a 1/2 range farther then the Shotgun, I'm ball-parking these numbers obviously but what is definitive is that the boltshot DOES have a farther one hit kill range then either gun.

The timing is slightly different, but the explosion the hammer causes is best used at a 45 degree angle downwards towards the enemy. I found thats the best range to wreck people.

THE BRUTE SHOT. Seriously screw the concussion rifle, the brute shot is a million times better and had a kick *** melee. The halo 2 carbine The halo 1 Pistol The halo 1 shotgun The Halo 1 plasma pistol The halo 2 Rocket launcher (it seriously owned) The halo 2 sniper rifle (sweep em up) The halo 3 SMG The halo 2 Brute plasma rifle (Suuuuuper fast fire rate) The halo 3 spartan laser The halo 2 Battle rifle I'm sure there's several I'm forgetting like dual wield needlers from halo 2 but those stand out as well. The halo 2 energy sword, easily the most powerful variant of the weapon. Honorable mention: The Scarab gun easter egg in halo 2.

I remember when halo was good enough that it was one of the most popular games, without: Armor abilities/perks, instant respawning, ordnance. In a time where these features existed in other games like COD modern warfare. These 3 things stand out to me as the biggest problems with the series as whole, in terms of multiplayer balance, and competitive balance. Jet pack absolutely destroys map design, why have barriers or different levels to a map? Bypassed by jet pack. Sprint and instant respawn destroys small arena style maps. Random ordnance creates an unbalanced system where I could receive a concussion rifle or some other garbage while my opponent gets an incineration cannon or rocket launcher. 6 second shield recharge delay just means I need to camp even more with a DMR since aggressive play-styles are punished by the increased shield delay ( It used to be 4 seconds in other games) making going on sprees Rambo style (a trademark of the series) is almost impossible. But you know what it's OK in halo 4, because instead of fighting for map control I can just sit with my DMR to get to throw the whole game off with magically deployed power weapons. I don't like built in sprint, I just think Spartans should move faster like in halo 2 and 3. These are all my opinions of the biggest things glaringly wrong with the game that COD has been using for years, minus the shield Recharge delay.

Many of the fans would be happy if this happened. If Halsey didn't know that chief was on infinity, does that mean she also had no info on him fighting the Didact? Or the Didact himself for that matter? It also means she probably isn't aware of Cortana's fate. It's entirely possible that she has methods or even the ability to rebuild her. -

Please, plasma grenades are at their weakest in this version of halo. In previous games the area of effect on the explosion was much larger, and more deadly. There are so many legitimate problems with halo 4, but grenades aren't one of them. Grenades are one of the 3 main facets of halo gameplay, the other two being Melee, and Guns. Guns, Grenades, Melees. The triple grenade perk isn't even that overpowered, you can't use it in conjunction with grenade resupply, (which would happen by default on other halo games, well rather you were just getting what the guy had on him but still.) and in other halos before halo 3 you could use FOUR of each grenade type. You have no idea what true grenade spam was.

Mutual kills are another issue altogether but it is biggest in flood you're right.

Single wielding the SMG from halo 3 was actually very effective.

People don't want to move on for a reason. I've been a young adult playing these games since the first title. I clearly remember each game and each experience, Halo 1, 2, and 3 were all MASSIVELY better then Halo Reach and unfortunately Halo 4. Halo 4 wants to be good, I can feel it, and it is a much better then game then Reach, but they seriously need to ditch armor abilities, and the ordnance system. Sometimes less is more and I feel this is definitely the case, I feel armor abilities were lame ever since they were introduced in reach and created a crutch for several players and I only accepted Equipment from Halo 3 because you had to go find and utilize it. -
