my most kills are with the BR, if you get to mid field on the enemy its game over. For swat I will always be about the pistol, since it was invented in xbox live custom games in halo 2. I have to use it for nolstalgic reasons.

MLG should work around Social players. Not Visa Versa.
Chris Hansen replied to Baeztoberfest's topic in Halo 4
I just want a damn time machine, so I can go back to my best halo, Halo 2. The maps, the weapons, the player movement, everything, I loved everything about halo 2. I still pop the disk in and play campaign on it every now and then. When the servers went down in 2010 I died a little. -
I could contribute to this, as doing the challenges in conjunction with the legendary challenge makes you seek out additional ammo. In the level composer I did with the famine skull and let me tell you there is hidden weapons ALL over the place. The first hanger where you go to get the shield up you can jump on top of a platform and there's a DMR and two frag grenades just sitting there. Proceeding past that there is almost too many hidden guns to mention, sticky launchers, shotguns, and assault rifles especially litter the ground and in rooms off the beaten path.

Even in halo 3, during the last part of Guilty Spark being alive he stuns chief and says "You ARE forerunner" and then you proceeded to spartan laser him to oblivion, finally.

Power weapons have a huge role/equal role in BTB games. A rocket launcher in B in exile with the ammo mod can potentially get MUCH more kills then one without. The same goes for the fuel rod run as you get a whopping 25 shots with it it out of the box. There isn't a multiplier at all on the increase. It goes up by a set amount, if you find a weapon that someone else was using and you have the ammo mod, you don't gain or lose a proportionate amount of ammo at all, you just have the ammo they currently had, but with your increased capacity. In big team battle if you get a rocket launcher or something similar in ordinance you can pretty much get ordinance again in short order.

For the life of me I don't understand why flood/zombies have shields in this game. Really retarded.

People can say whatever they want, but as someone who has played all the halos, at launch since halo 2, I can tell you I've never seen a population drop off this quickly since halo Reach. There was easily 4 times the amount of people playing this game at launch then what I see now, even on the weekend primetime. Yeah there are other games in the genre now the population is split because of it, but log on to COD right now and you'll see 300k plus players still on, and it's 3 in the morning on a monday. What does you being here for a year have to do with anything? This game has only been out for about 2 months now, and your seniority on this forum doesn't discount the very valid points people bring up about the (mostly) easily fixable shortcomings with the game. Consider this, on consoles for Major League Gaming, it was pretty much all halo in Halo 2 and 3. They didn't even use Reach and for Halo 4 the MLG community is torn on what settings to use, if even adopt the game for competetive play at all. If that doesn't send up a red flag with the state of the game and where it's heading as a whole I don't know what is. For a long time COD and halo, along with most other games have catered to casual gamers, this slowly has killed the competetive gamers, the most impassioned loyal fans, especially when it comes to fans of the halo franchise.

I've never seen more then 500 thousand people online in a halo since halo 2. COD Black ops II consistantly has that much online prime times and more on weekends.

OP I agree with you, but it sounds like the biggest problem is the AMMO mod. This is what makes the IC and Rocket launcher have so many rounds when obtained, and it increases thier capacity as well, so if you find another one you can up to 8 IC shots and TEN ROCKETS.

Plenty of good BTB players are getting screwed by this, myself included. A simple solution would be going back to the old, established ways of halo. REMOVE JIP. If you get matched up against a bunch of babies and they all bail out, then that game is yours to win. I understand it sucks for the remaining people who want to stick it out, but seriously. If you're whole team quits and you still want to stay in the game, that's your prerogative, and is fine in game like slayer as I remember tons of games where bad randoms quit, and we still prevailed, usually in much more epic fashion. On another note they need to go back to the old lobby system that let you plainly see who was in a party or not, so if you solo qued for big team battle you could premptively leave the lobby where all 8 players were in a party together. Because lets face it, playing with random people rarely works out in your favor against an organized team, you'll get plenty of kills, go very positive, you'll even make the game fairly close, but those randoms will get slaughtered the majority of the time.

Yeah, I definitely agree with you here. Even Frankie himself is part of the team, and many of the senior staff are from bungie, and worked on the best halos. That's why people had confidence in 343i in the first place. I can't believe some of the bull**** with the networking in this game, and don't even get me started on JIP. It's also frustrating to know these people CAN give us the settings and experiances of Halo 2 and 3, but want to try "new" things which really just emulate call of duty. And this is coming from a Hardcore halo fan whom played halo 1 and 2 competitively.

It's people throwing a clutch last ditch effort grenade as they die, it's been in all the halos. It's a fantastic way of saying screw you to the sword or shotgun guy as they go for the kill shot. how is this is a noob tactic? It's been present in EVERY halo. If you can't deal with it stop being point blank when you kill someone. Problem solved. Grenades are one of the golden branches of halo, some fools seem to have forgotten that. Guns. Grenades. Melee.

Most hacked game EVER- 343i, patch this crap already
Chris Hansen replied to DN2012's topic in Halo 4
I haven't encountered a single thing in game that I couldn't explain through simple lag, or a perk. Most people crying about infinite ammo are just playing against people with the ammo perk. It gives you a TON more ammo for things like the rocket launcher and incineration cannon. Also twinreaper, listen to what you're saying. Most of us have experianced hackers in our games, but we didn't notice? So the hackers were manipulating the game to have no effect? I've been in other halos that were being hacked, and let me tell you, that **** is noticable. If people are hacking halo 4 in the ways you describe, then they can go ahead and keep on doing it as far as I'm concerned, because it seems to have no gameplay effect whatsoever on my games. Or maybe I'm just "lucky". -
Ok, so I got the Rogue stability perk today. This completely changed the Carbine, I was able to scope in and follow through all my shots without being hindered by any outside damage sources. In other words I understand why the Carbine is the custom skin gun of Rogue now.....
-
I don't want the weapon to have more power, but there are times that I feel like I should be in range to scope in a shoot someone, and the reticule isn't red. I am biased though as I loved the halo 2 battle rifle, and the halo 2 carbine for that matter.

Am I the only one who thinks the campaign was pure ****?
Chris Hansen replied to moo10032's topic in Halo 4
My biggest problem with the campaign was the music. And I liked ODST's campaign, the only problem with it was you were a weak slow marine. But the music was solid in that one. I've been playing the halo's since halo 1 launched with xbox consoles. Most of my time has been spent in Halo 1, and halo custon edition on the PC, and Halo 2. It's hard to beleive, but most of my adolescent and adult life has been spent around this series...I'm 24 years old, that means I've been playing halo for 11 years....holy god. -
You are forced to use explosives.... That's bad

Exactly! The core mechanics of this game destroy reach. For many purist halo fans, those who spent most of thier time with halo 1 and 2, 4 is a thousand times better then Reach.
-
Not to mention regret teleports on legendary so you have to board and beat him multiple times. The Elite heretic was a boss fight too now that I think about it, you have to kill his copies but they all have active weapons as they flew around.

TWEAKS, BUFFS & ADDITIONS THAT I'D LIKE TO IMPROVE MY HALO 4 EXPERIENCE
Chris Hansen replied to DREGGSTA's topic in Halo 4
Jesus...I disagree with almost all of this lol. Don't buff the assault weapons, or add scopes to them. -
Just make the boltshot ordanance and a placement drop on maps as well. 90% of my bitching will cease.
-
Just make the carbine how it was in halo 2, I felt like it was perfect, it was less accurate then it is now, but hit harder.
-
Stripping the game down would be massively welcome. Have a playlist that has fixed weapon spawns on the map and fixed loadouts, a precision weapon and an assault rifle. Remove armor abilities as those only remind me of halo reach. Somehow remove sprint and make spartans as fast as they were in halo 2 & 3. Increase the amount of normal weapons on the map like DMR's battle rifles and Carbines, along with the 3 assault weapons and secondaries. I would play this playlist.

The one thing I will agree with the OP is that many people haven't played halo 1 lan parties and halo 2 online. If you are 18 years old or younger then you would have been TEN YEARS OLD when halo 2 came out, nevermind halo 1. This generation of gamers missed the best multiplayer experiance that the halo series had to offer. It's why I get the responses that I do sometimes when I decry things that are or were woefully wrong with the franchise (Armor lock, weapon bloom, melee system, overpowered banshee, and thats all from halo reach). Halo 3 introduced some annoying things like equipment and boarding stuns but it was still a ton of fun to play. Halo 2 had clans, and clan matches. It promoted competitive play. The skill ranking system was insane to boot, if you saw someone level 50 you KNEW they were good. It was difficult to hit level 50 and each playlist had its own rank.

The strength of the weapons are fine, my problem is the DMR has almost double the range of the battle rifle, it feels like the BR and Carbine don't have enough range.
