  1. Yeah that was single handedly the hardest thing in ledgendary. There is a rock formation next to the farthest side turret that you can take cover in without getting hit by pulse grenades. If it wasn't for that spot I might not have been able to complete the level with the Mythic skull on. You have to very carefully use the rail guns to maximum effectiveness in getting the Knights shields down, and you can even turret the first one if your fast. Killing all crawlers with extreme speed and accuracy is a must here too as they will rush you and generally screw with you while you're trying to kill the knights/watchers.
  2. The diadact has the ability to lift chief and move him at will, as well convert matter (at least forrunner matter) into data at will. I don't think moving cautiously would have done squat. In fact it's a plot hole since at any point in that level the Didact could have just thrown chief off the edge or effected how he goes through the man-cannons. OOR, he could have just digitally converted the ground in front of chief into data....
  3. Same, if I had a choice of all of them at 50 I would most likely have chosen Pioneer.
  4. The sense of urgency is just trashed though when Cheif is slowly walking across the light bridge in the in game cutscene as new phoenix is being Digisized or whatever.
  5. Halo 2 had the hardest, and more fun campaign in my opinion. The jackal snipers on ledgendary halo 4 don't one hit you...I thought that was really funny.
  6. Reclaimer was difficult with the Thunderstorm and mythic skull on the for challenge. But ultilzing the warthog to spatter the gold elites after rocket podding the ghosts, and rocket launching the wraiths. The rocket pod is pretty important to keep alive.
  7. Wallhacks begone! It's slightly annoying to be shoehorned into a certain load out to counter an armor ability but at least it exists! I thought that originally they still saw you through walls but only an outline...which seemed not worth it at all to me, but actually using the ability I found that this in fact makes you PROOF against Promethian vision through walls. I call promethian vision "Predator Vision" with it on since you can see them, and they can't see you. Granted I haven't unlocked a second one to play with but I am leaning towards Rogue next. * I know that there is a pinned topic but that was more of a speculative thread at the time before the game came out, and the goal of this one is to get a sense of what people like to use now that mods have been circulating for a while. *
  8. On ragnarok the Active Camo is hands down the best ability.
  9. Oh yeah, I am in no way saying that the bolt shot is as bad as armor lock. Im just saying that when I get killed by it, the only thing I can harkon to in another halo thats similar is getting screwed in an armor lock encounter. Although in Halo Reach when I used armor lock I actually felt dirty using it. Like I was cheating, it doesn't feel like that when I use the bolt shot.
  10. Trust me, I'm the first person to be up in arms and calling something OP. But the mantis isn't. It's pretty weak in terms of armor, and once it's shields are down if it doesn't take cover it's game over. I really love the Mantis because it takes a good amount of skill to use properly, but is very effective when used in an effective way. If 2 or more infantry spartans get within 20 feet of you it's game over for the mantis though. Plasma pistols plus the optional ability to roll with 3 plasma grenades is a death sentence to just about every vehicle, and when coupled with Active Camo to get the drop on vehicles it just compounds the balance on this. I would have to say the Mantis one of the most balanced new vehicles.
  11. Hah, BxR was something cowards used in halo 2. There were plenty of them in clan matches but not so much in normal match making. Now the super bounce, that was funny as well.
  12. My experiance with JIP has largely been bad. When my team leaves, they never get replaced, and when they do, it's too late to influence the game. Sometimes it comes through and you gain a decent player early on in an objective game or slayer. It's most annoying when trying to find games though, getting put into a a dominion game thats 390 to 70 against your favor gets old after the umpteenth time it happens to you.
  13. I agree with you 100% op. Another infuriating tactic on this map is the King hiding on one far side of the map while his team covers with the DMR, so he can get an easy reign of terror and own. I love team regicide on the other maps but not this one.
  14. Update, after using the weapon for a couple of days. I still think that it's range is too good on the charge shot. Its fun to use but I don't think you should have a shotgun type weapon off the spawn. Oh well, if you can't beat em join em. Also I found that if I stop running into the range of it it's not as bad, but it's an instinct that's hard to counter as I have always been a very gung-** player in halo.
  15. This OP sounds like a reach kid....I hate reach kids. Halo 4 has its problems, but it's leagues better then reach. It's much more similar to halo 3 and 2. Although nothing can really match the greatness of halo 2.
  16. Or you could have just left the guy, and got a new match.
  17. Yeah this part sucked on ledgendary. I tryed a bunch of different strategies but if your refering to the part where the elite runs to the banshee, you can assasinate him pretty quickly and then boost straight up into the sky with the banshee, doing hit and runs on the the crap ton of stuff down there and other banshees. when your banshee gets messed up there is another one on a hill thank god. The main problem I had here was dealing with everything else like the ghosts trying to kill me while I was fixated on countering the other banshees. The other areas with banshees are not nearly as bad.
  18. Can you even tell me what it is? Neither can I. I loved the campaign, but this new music is seriously bad. It's not memorable. It doesn't sound like halo. 343i has access to the old music, you hear hints of it in halo 4, the ending credits, the intro scene, the part where chief is passing over one of the Installation Halos. I can go listen to the sound track of halo 2, and I get lost, I cry nolstalgic tears. I can replay the ENTIRE campaign by listening to the music. I don't even remember music in halo 4's campaign. Please, please!!! Bring back the music we know and love. Do what they did in halo 3 and remix/create new awesome versions of classic tracks. I could start linking music from previous halos, but it's honestly too much to mention. The music on the level high charity where you're running through the Convenant holy city, the gutteral and awesome bass line while dodging jackal snipers in New Mombassa (new mombassa suite). The flood attacking for the first time in halo 1 (Demons! Monsters!), getting the tank on delta halo in halo 2(heretic,hero). SUCH Memorable music backing up the gameplay. The highs and lows that would sync up when you killed a group of enemies, the flow of the music. Halo 4 has none of this. And that was less then a fraction of the examples I have in my head. The previous halo music had momentum to it. You could rock out to it. It could inspire you to go great epic things in the face of Legdendary. My rant is over, and it might be nolstalgia fueled, but even listening to the sound track of halo 4 and previous halos it's just no contest. Just no contest.
  19. Post game is the best! In the old halo as soon as the round or game ended people generally try to kill eachother. Its a strange kind of end game ritual in that's a much a part of halo as the Master Chief himself.
  20. Join in progress absolutly sucks. It's like communism, fantastic on paper, but ruined in practice by people. 9 times out of 10 you will join into a game that there is just no chance of winning, but more importantly, no chance of fun as the enemy team is usually fully organized, already set up and encamped with power weapons/ordanace. Recomended fix: Remove Join in Progress, or make it so after a certain amount of time or points join in progress is disabled.
  21. Allow me to explain. I am not comparing a weapon to an AA. In halo Reach the biggest problem I and many others had with armor lock is in essentially you could have had an enemy completely beaten, and dead to rights, when they not only survive but go one to cause your death (inadvertantly with buying enough time for team support or directly in a close quarters situation with the emp function). The ability to negate a stick was also super annoying and anti-halo to the extreme. This was and always will be frustrating, although its worth mentioning that Armor lock was eventually nerfed by 343i. So here we are in halo 4, and although there is nothing close the scale of broken like armor lock or Reach's Banshee; a very familar feeling a frustration and feeling cheated started to stir within me. The Bolt Shot. The charge function on this weapon is just outrageous. It's too strong overall for a secondary weapon. There have been countless examples of my getting someones shields down in not open spaces with anything, a Saw, assault rifle, DMR, battle rifle, only for them to get around a corner or platform and instantly kill me with the bolt shot. I have NO problems with any of the other weapons in this game, in terms of balance and strength. I usually don't accuse weapons of being too good as there is usually a playstyle and other guns that trump it and that's true, except you don't spawn with anything thats a direct counter besides another Bolt shot. Anyway the thing has slightly better range then a shot gun shot and it's pretty much bull****/annoying everytime I get killed by it. I've played all the halo's and love them, well not Reach. But all the other halos. And I love this one too. So in summation, I feel cheated, and annoyed whenever I get killed by the bolt shot, much like armor lock. Not because the weapon is powerful, but the range and damage allows it to get people out of situations they have no bussiness surviving, much like the AA. It's not as bad obviously, but still pretty damn annoying. The weapon could be balanced easily by simply reducing the range slightly on the charge burst, thats it. I don't even want the damage reduced.
  22. Weapons actually do stay around for a fair amount of time. I killed an enemy sniper and had enough time to run down the entire map, (A to C run on exile) before the weapon despawned. I've had time to reclaim my lost weapons as well as long as you B-line to them. The real problem I run into is the weapon despawn rate on CAMPAIGN. It's honestly retarded. You can clear a whole group of enemies on ledgendary but by the time you're finished with the last one in a group or even just hesitate to scavenge the battle field POOF, all gone. So in matchmaking, I don't see a problem at all with the despawn rates of weapons. But something that does annoy the crap out of me is the utter lack of basic things like BRs, DMRs, and grenades on the map. These things should be common place just like every halo game. There have been several times that I've actually exhausted all my ammo on gametypes where you cannot recieve ordanace and it would be REALLY nice if I could at least find a friggin assault rifle. It boggles my mind as to why maps are so remote in terms of weapon placement. This doesn't feel like halo and needs to be changed.
