  1. Bloody, my plan is ALWAYS to destroy the tank. lol
  2. I'm getting the PC version of the game tomorrow, and live is still functional thankfully. One last time I shall experience the awesomeness that is halo 2 multiplayer!!!
  3. It was a good story, but I really didn't like the soundtrack. The elites glassed the area where flood infected.
  4. Yeah but you gained those advantages on even ground with everyone else. Everyone had an equal chance to get to the power weapons on the map, unless it was some unbalanced map which did happen. It required having a good team and knowing the map/respawn times.
  5. I would LOVE the multiplayer of halo 2 to come back untouched. But they probably won't do that.
  6. It gives me information about what a team might do before a game even begins. I'll give you an example, if I know the enemy team is good in the lobby before the game begins on say exile, I'll know not to rush the scorpion tank because there will certainly be a sniper watching the approach. My Tactics have already changed and the game hasn't even started. All based on seeing what the enemies competetive rank is. I can understand why you don't think it's a big deal because rank meant diddly squat for so long in halo. Truly the most accurate rankings were in halo 2, if you had level 50's on your team or on the enemy team you KNEW they knew their stuff, because they wouldn't stay at level 50 with how harsh the leveling was in that game, they would get demoted. If you say icons beyond 50 like moons and nova's then you were in for an owning, and most strategies would fail.
  7. How the hell do you have no DMR kills is the real question here.
  8. This is the one thing I never understood about microsoft or bungie, if they just made a match making for halo 1, and re-release the game with full online multiplayer it would sell MASSIVELY. THEY WOULD MAKE SO MUCH MONEY, AND THE FANS WOULD BE HAPPY. It's one of the those scenarios that everyone wins. The companies, and the consumers. Ps. I don't care for CEA's sound effects, they are good, but I want the classic sounds of the pistol firing, not the newer sound.
  9. join in progress has caused me infinite more headache then it's actually benefited me. 90% of the time it joins me into one of the following: 1. A game that had one other person that didn't quit, so it joins me into it. So now it's 2 v 8 instead of 1 v 8 and screw that one idiot for staying, making this scenario possible in the first place. Granted this extreme of an example doesn't happen often but lesser versions of it happen all the time, like joining into a big team game 4 v 8, 5v8 or something else significant. 2. A game where the team numbers are actually even (counting dropping me into it) but the score is unattainably, retardedly lopsided, like sub 200 points on my team to 700 + the other team with 2 minutes left in the game. 3. A combination of 1 and 2. Where we might not be uneven number wise but are just getting slaughtered by an organized team, which is why people left on the other team in the first place. Or we are down guys AND getting slaughtered, a common scenario many of you are familiar with I'm sure. 4. A game that currently has Bubbles from trailer park boys hosting in his shed or something, constantly going to a blue screen and being a lagged out piece of crap when it actually puts you in game. And with about a 5 percent probability, we have scenario 5. A game where I get joined into where it's sub 100 points on either side, the connection is not horrible, and the teams aren't incredibly lopsided. Scenario 5 doesn't come up that much. I absolutely ABHOR join in progress. Of all the stupid CoD mechanics added to the halo universe, this is most asinine.
  10. The best idea is no ordnance, just scrap the whole system. Halo has never been a "rich get richer" type of game. And that's exactly what point/score streaks are. I would have liked it better if instead of weapons, you got random stuff like call in NPC spartans to fight or a destroyable pelican is summoned to attack enemy players. At the very least it would have more entertaining then get a random power weapon (or crap weapon)/powerup.
  11. Yeah, its not like we can go to way-point, and see the ranks of people on the other team..while the game is going on, which is the whole reason we want visible rankings in the first place, so you can get a general sense of who is good and who isn't as good in the lobby. It's sort of an important piece of information to have.
  12. Nice, I can see some really big halo maps being remade with this.
  13. The problem is there are no POWER weapons in COD. In halo a rocket launcher or incineration cannon beats everything with minimal effort. The game would devolve into people running around with nothing but launchers or sniper rifles. The sniper rifle is a POWER weapon in halo, sniper rifles in cod are just a type of gun class.
  14. I suppose you're opinion is your own, but I had so much fun with halo 2's campaign your opinion is crazy to me is all.
  15. I found the patch notes, sounds good, the Gauss will still one-shot players, but be less effective on vehicles, which is fine, since it 3 shots a tank.
  16. You better be kidding about open loadouts...being able to just spawn with power weapons? the game will be destroyed to the point of not being able to be salvaged.
  17. Map balance is only really screwed on exile. In call of duty there are rounds added to many gametypes switching the sides because maps are so lopsided, its ridiculous lol.
  18. The campaign was awesome dude. Not like campaigns today where you need to play the linear path the developers lay out for you. In halo 2 you could actually explore, and there was a TON of stuff to uncover/mess with as a result, unintended or otherwise. The game has the biggest diversity of enemies to fight, elites (more then 7 different types all with different resistances and abilities), grunts, jackals, hunters, drones, brutes, combat flood, elite combat flood, infection flood, carrier flood, two different types of sentinels, sentinel enforcers (which never showed up again in any other halo title for some stupid reason). I think that's everything but I might have left out some obscure things. Not to mention the way all these different units interact creates some of the most memorable and entertaining campaign play of all the halos. Flood vs covenant vs sentinels, Flood vs covenant brute faction vs covenant elite faction, Covenant vs heretic covenant (making some really interesting fights). So anyway...how are enemy encounters less dynamic then other halos? The most epic moment in the game comes from some of the enemy encounters...the scarab sequence and having to board it with a TON of enemies inside, the mausoleum sequence, where epic music comes on as you decide which side to attack. Not to mention boss encounters with regret and tatarus. It sounds like you really didn't get into halo 2 that much. Playing fusion frenzy instead? What other xbox 1 games were even remotely as popular as halo 2 online Crimson skys? LOL. Pandora tomorrow splinter cell? Even remember that game had online? lolz. Rainbow Six 3? I think I've made my point here in terms of online game popularity, and those games I listed came out BEFORE halo 2; there weren't many people playing them before it came out and I can imagine there was even less after its release. You mention xbox 360 so you didn't have an original or got the game back in 2004?
  19. Halo 2 is the most important game of my online life. Hands down. I've played so much online that I deeply regret not playing it religiously until the servers were brought down. It also had the most fun campaign by far in my eyes. It's the only game where you go to high charity for gods sake! I honest to god wouldn't have a problem if halo 5 was just halo 2 with updated graphics.
  20. In halo 3 they were way too easy to kill. In halo 2 they actually had some tricks up their sleeves and berserk was actually BERSERK. They got utterly owned by the carbine though. And double needlers, and plasma grenades...
  21. In comparison to halo 4's campaign, I was having so much more fun. But I couldn't really figure out why. I chocked it up to nostalgia but then it hit me like a brick wall. It's the music. Halo CE and Halo 2 had dynamic music in their campaigns. I'll give you a good example: When fighting the several waves of covenant when first boarding the truth and reconciliation, Covenant Dance will start playing, when you kill the two hunters that spawn, the vocals kick in. It's little touches like that, that made the campaign in the older halos feel alive, I felt like the battle field was shaping itself to major things you accomplished in the campaign or reached a certain area. I don't hate the sound track for halo 4, but it's just not the music I've come to expect from a halo game. Halo 4's campaign had a good story. That's it. The missions were rather dull and the music was largely forgettable except for the final level really. I really miss Marty.
  22. Plasma grenades are the true pro grenade. I pride myself on my sticking ability, and not as a last ditch effort either. But if i do get caught in a situation that someone will kill me up close it's ALWAYS a mutual kill if I have a plasma grenade on me.
  23. Beazel it's not that I have problems, and the plasma pistol is on EVERY one of my loadouts. It's just BS that you can spawn with one period. You never could before, and it's anti vehicles role is the same/just as good as it was in previous games. And yeah I even made a thread speaking of the greatness that is explosives/wheelman combo.
