Forge 3.0 Ideas and suggestions
Jedi Master Tom replied to CrimsonVolver's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
That is basicly my dream wishlist for Halo's Forge mode. With simple tools like those, the forge community would be able to make true masterpieces, limited only by ones own imagination. The only additions I could think of would be bringing back fine tuning (not sure why it was removed to begin with, and terrain editing. Maybe an option to adjust the day/night cycle, and weather conditions along with that. Oh, and this might be asking for a little too much, but how about bots to fight? Add spawn locations for groups of enemies, and then let the community make firefight maps. That would be epic -
What does every one love doing in forge?
Jedi Master Tom replied to PublicAlliance's topic in Forge Discussion
Those are the kind of maps I strive to make. You should check out my newest map called Titan. It currently works for slayer, recommended 4v4. Its in my file share, gamertag is same as username here -
Lockout/Blackout/Eclipes remake done
Jedi Master Tom replied to Benchimus's topic in Forge Discussion
Yeah, very good job on the remake! I forgot how small Halo maps used to be... Also, if anyone is interested, I just finished working on my own map. I took a lot of inspiration from Lockout, but expanded upon it and made it more symmetrical. It currently works for slayer, recommended 4v4. Having trouble getting it working for CTF, and my respawns were a little rushed. So if anyone takes a look at and has any tips for improvement, I'm open to constructive criticism. The map is called Titan, and my gamertag is Jedi Master Tom. -

Jedi Master Tom started following do you think the needler is over powerd? (related to HALO 4) , Lockout/Blackout/Eclipes remake done , Spartan Ops Season 2 Dated and 4 others

I gotta be "that guy" here and correct you. It is not season two. It will be a continuation of season one. Think of it like a mid-season holiday break, I suppose. But thanks for the info! I didn't know the exact date for it, nor did I know they would be rotating older episodes into MM until they resume the season. Can't wait for new missions AND new locations!

I do what a normal person does when they lose. I blame it on my cat, and abuse him, verbally. Stupid Smokey....

Erm... Why hasn't the Boltshot been nerfed yet?
Jedi Master Tom replied to MICKHEAD's topic in Halo 4
Nothing to fix. Its an intention game design, and most people don't seem to have a problem with it. So move along folks, nothing to see here -
Sounds epic. Can't wait to sink some hours into that playlist

Is Halo 5 going to be a Halo game?
Jedi Master Tom replied to Isaac Kleiner's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
What a mature way to open a thread... But yeah, those days are gone. Game franchises tend to evolve as they get older and older, because if they don't then the studio that produces said game will run out of money to make another. It takes a ridiculous amount of resources to develope a triple A video game, and quite honestly, I respect 343 for taking a chance to evolve the franchise instead of playing it safe. If they did just copy/paste from Halo 3 then they would have doomed the franchise to stagnation and you would be lucky to even see half of the current MM population online. Too many people would put it down and pick up Black Ops 2, where they can be rewarded with simple, modern, unlockable weapons and perks. Its a matter of business, son. If you can't accept that and just enjoy games for what they are, then don't play games. Or go back and play your old favorites. I don't care. I just hope they leave the DMR out of the next two Halos. There's no place for that gun and it does the most damage to the weapon balance in Halo 4. -
do you think the needler is over powerd? (related to HALO 4)
Jedi Master Tom replied to PublicAlliance's topic in Halo 4
I see no problem with it at all. The needler has stayed a pretty consistant weapon since halo 3, and I respect that. -
Okay, fair enough. I mostly play SWAT or Flood so my loadouts are often forced. I used the DMR quite a bit when I first got the game, but lately I've favored the BR and Pistol. DMR is too easy to kill with, and I like to challenge myself so I rarely resort to using it. When I do get to use my custom loadouts in BTB or Infinity Slayer, I like to mix it up depending on the map or other variables like the other teams strategy. When the other guys are dominating with vehicles, I use my support class: Storm rifle, Plasma Pistol, Plasma grenades, Regen Field, Mobilty and soon to be the pathfinder support upgrade that allows faster movement with turrets, and what not. I know it doesn't sound like much, but from my experience, this class can literally be the difference between winning or losing a team based match. In general, I like to start out using my BR, AR, Camo, and awareness load out. With frags, of course. I also have a similar loadout with the DMR and Hardlight Shield, and in place of awareness it is grenadier. When I am getting absolutely creamed in Matchmaking, Ill admit to falling back on dirtier tactics with my Hologram, DMR, Boltshot loadout. I believe it also has explosives upgrade and faster shield regen. I also have a specific class for Spartan Ops: Suppressor, Carbine, Plasma Grenades, Jetpack. I forget the support upgrades at the moment. Sometimes I will also use my support class mentioned earlier when playing Spartan Ops. I might have one or two more, but these are the main loadouts I use on a regular basis. Sometimes I might be able to stick to one for a whole match, but more often I find myself switching classes to better handle the situation at hand. And, naturally, even these loadouts will evolve over time as I master more and more of the weapons.
-
I use the boltshot only. For every situation. Because apparently its that good.
-
I didn't think so at first, either. But after a lot of ingame expirimenting, it really does excell at killing other players more so than the other rifles. The only other loadout rifle that even has a chance of standing up to it is the battle rifle, and only if its a close to mid range fight. You would have to be extremely lucky to win a fair fight using the br against a dmr at longer ranges, which is a role only the sniper weapons should be filling. I seriously do question 343's reasoning behind bringing back the dmr from reach, and somehow making it even more accurate. If you really do think it is a balanced gun in halo 4, then just think about it like this. The covenant only have one loadout rifle, as do the promethians. Why should the UNSC get two? Kinda counter intuitive if you're trying to go for a balanced set of weapons.
-
Then use promethian vision. But what if you don't want to use promethian vision? Then use hardlight shield. Don't want to use that either? Then stay the hell out boltshot range and quit complaining. I have no problem with the boltshot because it is easily avoided using many different tactics. I've probably been one shotted by this weapon twice, possibly thrice, in all the matches I've played. I really just don't understand peoples rage...
-
Corrected that for you. I love the little *******. Its always fun to make noobs rage quit because they are still stuck in the old "rush with AR then melee" mindset. Games change, people need to adapt or go play something else. Not much point coming to a COMMUNITY forum to cry about their fails. Here's a free tip for y'all: use holograms to flush out the boltshoters. They will waste half a clip and overheat the gun if you just use a little caution and send in a decoy before heading in to cqc areas.
