  1. So, for those of you with a PC and Steam. (and who actually read these. ) I've decided to review a free-to-play game on the steam market that I believe deserves a good try. APB: Reloaded Now, APB: Reloaded is a remake of the Ill-fated APB, a subscription based MMO-shooter Produced by Realtime Worlds, the company behind Crackdown. Then, on September 16th 2010, They announced the servers would be shut down. The game had been panned by Critics, largley do to the unrefined driving and shooting controls, and the backlash from the developer denying any reviews until a week after release. Then, a glimmer of hope! A company known as K2 Network purchased APB, and announced that a free to play remake would be released, under the Title APB: Reloaded. The story takes place in a city dubbed San Paro. Where crime isn't just a problem, it's a menace. The city is practically helpless to stop the gangs of the city. Then they enacted the City Security Act, an act which allowed any citizen with a gun to sign up with a Law enforcement agency, take to the streets, and take out criminals of any kind. From vandals to murderers, anyone was open game, and there was no bag limit. Thus, the Enforcers were born. Players start by picking a side, Crim' or Cop, as they are referred to in short, and you make your Character. Now here is where APB stands out. It's character customization is amazing. The amount of, for lack of a better word, Crap you can do with your character is astounding, making every single character unique. you start with a basic outfit, but as you complete a few missions, more clothes can be unlocked. These range from specifically designed clothes, to templates to make your own, using the extensive graphic designer. The customization doesn't end there. You can create your own Graphitti, customize a Car, right down to the sound the horn makes, customize tactical gear, and even make a song to play when you kill a player. APB's major selling point is it's customization. Gameplay has to basic modes. Action districts are Plain old PVP. Shoot them, get shot by them. City districts are objective based games in a large environment. Objectives can range from holding a hill, to tagging graphitti (or covering it, if you're a Cop.) to escorting a car, to raiding apartments. All the while, you and your gun happy comrades blast away at your opposition. You advance in the game by "Pledging" to handlers from different orgaizations. On the Enforcers, The Praetorians and the Prentiss Tigers will be your main source of work. On the Crims', The G-Kings, and Blood Roses will send you out to do damage. Now, playing as Criminals and Enforcers is obviously different. And actually, it is harder to play as an Enforcer, but you level up quicker. Criminals can gain extra experience by mugging civilians, While Enforcers get massive bonuses by using non-lethal weapons to arrest criminals. That.... is..... HARD..... Criminal players know they are worth big cash and standing if they get arrested, so they tend to arm up with shotguns to keep Enforcers out of Tazer range, but non-lethal guns are available too. they just kinda suck. Gameplay - The problems that plagued the original APB have all but disappeared. the game plays a lot better, but rewards a good computer and a fast connection. The extensive character customization will keep you playing for a long time. Graphics - The graphics are pretty good, but still retain a little bit of an animated style. Sound - The gun sounds are passable, and the cars engines all sound different. The sound track is good, but only comes into play in the Waterfront, (The social/shopping zone) And when you are in a car. Community - Some of the people on here are fun to talk to, but there are a lot of people who are really unsavory characters. Don't take this to heart though. it's the same everywhere else. Final rating - 8/10. A fun game, a good time waster, and hey, It's free. See ya next time!
  2. Good for you! Don't let it go to your he-, Too late..... Enjoy the pinkness!
  3. Admiral Parker decided to check in on their new arrival. He found her shuffling about one of the hallways near med-bay. "Hello there. I'm Admiral Parker, the ship's captain. How are you settling in?"
  4. Nope. Go for it showstopper! I'm probably going to run a little mission for my self in the meantime. Helljumper, feel free to PM me if you'd like help with a little brainstorming for your mission.
  5. There is a way to make it so to build, you have to use a sign to stake a claim. I'm not sure how, I'm not good with Mods, but I've been on a couple servers where you claim your spot, and only people you give permission to can build there.
  6. On PC I am assuming? An Economy is always a fun addition...
  7. Little Big Karting. So, off the bat, I love LBP. It's such a fresh kinda game, which is funny because the Side-scrolling Platformer has been around since gaming's inception. But it's not just a Side-scroller. It's what ever you, or the community can make it. And they decided to come out with a car racing game. Now, when I heard about it, I thought, "Oh yeah, Just rip off Modnation Racers. That's just fine, I liked you Media Molecule, now I'm not sure." Well, that was before I heard LBPK was being developed by the same company that made Modnation Racers, United Front Games. As for the "story" its about some kinda group of thingy's called The Hoard. (No, that's not a typo. they spell it like that because it's a group of people who steal things and hoard them.) And you have to race a kart to stop them. Pulitzer winning it is not. Fun? You bet your Soon-to-be-made-of-burlap Behind it is. Graphics - The cartoony fun graphics make a return, but with a lighting change that makes them pop, and looks very nice. Sound - Silly sound effects, and foot tappin' music make this game a blast to listen to. Gameplay - A run of the mill Kart racer, with a splash of major customization. it's a fun experience, and the Kart racing genre is a formula that never gets old. So grab a controller, Grab a friend, and laugh as you hit them with yet another missile. Final rating - 7.5/10. A fun game to play with friends, with a near infinite Replay value with it's track builder, online community, and the fact that you can break the mold to make almost any kind of game. A definite play, but the low rating is only because, when's the last time you've been blown away by a Kart racer? I rest my case. *Makes engine noises and runs away*
  8. 3 days to Mass Effect 3: Citadel. Time! Y U NO GO FASTER!?!?

  9. I've got a host of characters ready to go if you need another person in the mission, or Showstopper can help. Take a peek at my post of NPC's if you'd like, and let me know.
  10. Well paint me blue and slap me silly. On second thought, don't do that. Good for you Church!!!
  11. < No better explaination of how I feel right now. Back to buisness people. Get some posts in the Off Duty, And ask for a mission if you'd like one.
  12. I think you're rather alone on that one. I enjoyed the series, and I don't think an overt focus on action would have been better. They were trying to establish Laskey as a character, and show what training academies are like. Save the action for the game.
  13. I'm not exactly sure what the extent of your work with Halo 2 was, but one thing to bear in mind is, All things must end. Even Halo 4 will eventually be taken offline, same as Halo 2. Halo 3 will most likely be next on the chopping block. I know losing something you worked very hard on is hard to go through. I've had 2 bands with at least 5 recorded songs a piece fall through due to an argument between members. Remember the experience, enjoy what you learned, be glad it happened, and remember it fondly.
  14. Children. Sit. Seriously. Bacon, If your gonna stick around, then do so. Threads die because of people who just go, "It's dead. guess I'll stop posting." People need to realize, if you weren't the most recent poster, make a post, keep it going. And Helljumper, Just leave it be. You're still posting, he's not. leave it at that and just move on. We don't need people at each other's throats.
  15. My PS3's reading laser just died... Now it won't read anything, Games, DVDs, CDs, Nothing. Crapdangle....

Time to order a new Laser unit and break out the soldering iron...

    2. D-38 Boss

      D-38 Boss

Nope... It's a first gen PS3. Be more worthwhile to upgrade, and save the solder for my airsoft guns.

    3. Twinreaper

      Twinreaper

No...lol I meant that you need a soldering iron to remove the static solder point they put on laser units to prevent accidental shorting while handling and shipping..lmao The laser itself will only cost you around $25 plus an hour at most to install it.

  16. Anyway... Helljumper, Feel free to take as long as you'd like. I have no qualms over you developing the story.
  17. I'm not happy about it either, but be respectful. I do enjoy reading what you and Dryskim have been doing. Keep it up!
  18. Yes. yes I would. -------------------- Sly 4: Thieves in Time Now, let me get one thing straight. I love Sly Cooper. It's probably my favorite IP, and character from a game. But I was a little apprehensive when I saw a new game was being made, but not by Suckerpunch. I looked into Sanzaru Games however, and was immediately interested. They are a small, independent developer, That believes every game needs to have a certain level of quality. And they didn't disappoint. Sly 4 is a match fit for the series, Making me wax nostalgic almost every time I played it. truthfully, my only complaint is I wish they hadn't put their logo on so many in-game things, but that hardly detracted from the game. The game begins with a cutscene. Now.... let me first tell you about how these were done. In the original trilogy, the cutscenes that weren't using in game graphics, or a Binocucomm conversation, were done in a comic-y style. if there was any motion, it was minimal and very plain looking. In Sly 4, every cutscene not in game, Is a fully animated, well drawn, cartoon. I'm not really sure why, but this felt like a bonus to me. Anyway, the game begins with a cutscene, talking about Sly's history. And sets the scene. He has been living in Paris with his Girlfriend, Interpol officer Carmelita Fox, who was, until the events of Sly 3, dead set on arresting Sly. He had faked amnesia in order to pursue a relationship with her, and worked with her as her partner at Interpol. After a while, he felt like he needed to pull a heist, as being a thief was (Quite literally) In his blood. Bentley shows up and tells him there's a problem. The pages of the Thievius Raccoonus (The "Bible of Thieving" So to speak, and The Cooper family heirloom) Were disappearing. He tells him that the Cooper history is being erased, and they have to find a way to stop it. to do so, Bentley has managed to build a time machine out of the Cooper Gang's trademark van. All he needed was to get an object from the period of time they wished to travel to, which in this case was feudal era Japan. Sly, with the help of Bentley, and Murray (The gang's third member.) steals an ancient Katana on display in a wealthy aristocrat's museum, but not before being discovered by Carmelita. They then escape the museum's Army-like security, by going back in time to Japan. Having typed that out... I realize how strange this game is when one isn't playing it. O_O Graphics - Take the original graphics from the third game, give them a major overhaul. The cel-shaded graphic give the game a cartoony style to compliment it's over the top action and goofy humor, and the in game cutscenes are actually well made, not recycling animations. Gameplay - Exactly the same as 1, 2, and 3, with some new additions and tweaked to make the controls extremely responsive. A fun Action platformer, and a good measuring stick for the Genre. Sound - The voice acting is brilliant and funny, the music is as catchy as ever, and the minor sound effect and ambient noise are all good quality. Final rating - 10/10 This game is a fresh experience, and a good break from the run of the mill games that have been released as of late, funny, considering this games format is based on Playstation 2 games. If you have a PS3, and you are a fan of the Sony Mascots (Ratchet, Jak, Sly) definitely pick this up. I'm already excited for the sequel!
  19. I can't wait for my loan refund to come in.... Ima gets me a nice gaming compy.

  21. Ty was lying in his bunk. The events of the mission replaying in his mind. A whole ship, covertly infiltrated and every last crew member killed. With their own technology! If the covenant couldn't tell there were stealth elites on their ship, how could he? He rolled over and opened the drawer next to his bed. he reached in and moved the box he used to cover the little hidden pocket he dug in. He grabbed the pill bottle and dumped out two sleeping pills. "I gotta stop with these things... there gonna get me in trouble one of these days if anyone else finds out." He thought to himself. Little did he know, Mathison already knew.
