Sgt, Tyler "Ty" MacMillan, 3rd ODST's "Dead Drop Brigade". Requiem Firebase. Ty hopped off the pelican and walked over toward the Mess hall, hoping to get his first meal in a while. "And where do you think you're going MacMillan?" Cortez's voice stopped Ty in his Tracks. "Uh, S-Sir! I w-was headed to the m-mess for some food Sir!" Ty stammered. "W-w-well PRIVATE! you'd better rethink that." Cortez mocked him. "I gave you specific orders to meet the squad in the south pod bay in the Infinity. Where did you end up?" "T-The north pod bay..." Ty's voice trailed off. "What was that?" "The north pod bay sir!" "Right, right. I'm assuming you learned how to use a compass in basic, so you just decided to disobey orders. right?" "B-but I-I..." "I'm not interested in an excuse kid. now double time to the Armory. You're on weapons maintenance 'till lights out. you get me son?" "Yes..." "yes what?" "Yes. Sir." "Good. Dismissed" Ty trudged off to the Armory. "I shoulda joined the air force..." He muttered.

Ty reloaded his AR. He'd never had to use it this much before. The Covies were throwing a lot of troops at him. He paused, remembering a lecture at the Academy. Covenant S and D squads were ten troops max, there were at least a Platoon's worth Ahead of him, and most weren't attacking him. To his surprise, he saw a group of Elites to his right, running past him and ignoring him completely. They were running from something. Ty stopped firing.... they weren't firing back. Why had they stopped? His comm made him jump. "Sgt. MacMillan, this is Archangel 1-4. We see your IFF, coming in for a pick up, how copy?" "Solid copy, Archangel. Good to see you, over." The pelican slid down and hovered nearby. Ty grabbed his gear and jogged over. he hopped in and stowed his gear, grabbing his Scope Lens. "I'm in let's RTB!" "Got it. well be back at the base in about 15 minutes." Ty peered through his scope. What on earth could make the covenant run like that? He saw a silhouette near his pod, he zoomed in on it. "What the hell?!" Ty went over to the Cockpit. "Hey, are you seeing those zombie things?" "The Flood you mean? yeah, you could say i've seen them." "The Flood? You mean the Parasite from the Installation 04 Incident?" "The very same." "S--- man, I did NOT sign up to fight a Zombie Apocalypse..." "No one did, but were stuck with it." "No way man... I'm not doing this!" "Oh, Grow a pair... you're the sorriest excuse for a Helljumper I've ever seen..." Ty tried to respond, but couldn't. The pilot was right, The way he was talking would shame even the newest recruit. He have to face it anyway, There was no way off planet. Ty walked over to his bag and grabbed his cigar. "Everyone has to cope someway, right?" he joked to himself. "Control this is Archangel 1-4, we are RTB. ETA 10 minutes. Tell Cortez we found his new boy. over." "Cortez?" Ty thought "Damn it, I'll never hear the end of this..."
-
"Got it," Ty said, thrown off by the sudden response, "I'm not exactly going anywhere... and I'm not really in any danger..." Almost on cue, a plasma bolt slammed into the pod. Ty jumped to the other side and hunkered down. "Scratch that! I'm in danger! Need evac ASAP!" Ty turned and fired toward the direction of the shot. He'd need to hold out for a bit.

Sgt. Tyler MacMillan, 3rd ODST's "Dead Drop Brigade" Unknown location, Requiem Surface Ty shook the haze out of his head. He barely managed to make it to the drop pods when that spirit showed up in the hanger. He hit the door release and stepped out of the pod, retrieving his Assault Rifle and his gear bag. He had no idea where he was. Ty flipped his comm on. "This is Sgt. MacMillan, I've dropped onto the planets surface at an unknown location, I'm in need of an Evac or a vehicle drop, is there anyone on this frequency? I'm lighting up my I.F.F. tag." Ty leaned against the pod, he might be there awhile.

"Anything to get us out of here. I can't fly one of these though..."
-
On the bridge Ty moved in with his Shotgun aimed toward the front of the command console. he spotted the chip on the floor. "There! Grab it and lets go!" ((I have to go. Feel free to use my character as you see fit for now. just please don't kill me. lol))
-
"Alright let's move before this ship gets wasted."
-
Ty hit his Comm. "Sir this is Sgt. MacMillan, 3rd ODST's. we need to go retrieve Anton, Can you Buy us enough time to get him and get out?"
-
Ty looked over to Murphy. "Looks like it's you sir. I'll back you up."
-
"uh, yeah... thanks." At the armory Ty grabbed shells for his shotgun, Grenades and an Assault Rifle. "Whenever you're ready to go..."
-
Ty thought for a bit. "If you're up for it, we can use the Orbital Drop Pods..."
-
Ty woke up with a groan. Someone was carrying him. "Uh thanks but you can put me down now..." He hopped into the pelican and unjammed his shotgun.
-
Ty spun around and pointed his shotgun at the Arbiter, CHUNK! His shotgun jammed, he charged toward the arbiter, trying to tackle him. The Arbiter turned and punched him, sending him tumbling back. Ty's head slammed into the command console, knocking him out.
-
Before Ty could even react, Avictus's team had burst into the bridge. He stood frozen to the spot, Afraid to move. Just go! He told himself. He moved into the Bridge, Shotgun pointed forward. A jackal to his left leaped at him, without thinking he turned and fired, splattering himself with the covie's blood. "F---!" He turned and was hit by a plasma blast from a grunt, dropping him to one knee. He leveled his shotgun and fired, dropping the grunt. "This sides clear sir!"
-
Sgt. Ty MacMillan 3rd ODST's --- UNSC Infinity Bridge 0400 Ty gripped the Shotgun in his hands. He turned to see Avictus arrive. "Sir! Sgt. MacMillan 3rd ODST's. This doors sealed. what should we do?"

Sgt. Tyler MacMillan. 3rd ODST's "Dead Drop Brigade" --- Pelican 3-2 "Freebird 2" Requiem Orbit Sgt. MacMillan pulled the Cigar from his dufflebag. His first deployment, And the way the reports looked, his last. Non-Spartan forces were being decimated on Requiem. His hands shook as he lit the cheap cigar, a habit he had formed talking to the commanders back at the Academy in Ireland back on earth. The others in the pelican eyed him closely. They were thinking the same he was; What the F--- am I doing here? Surely there are more combat hardened ODST's to send to Requiem? No. There wasn't, not anymore. they had already been killed there or had been promoted to Non-Combat roles. He turned to look out the view port, There it is, the UNSC Infinity. The Lead pilot's voice crackled over the radio; "UNSC Infinity Control, This is Freebird Squadron. Requesting Docking Clearance. Over." "You are cleared to dock in Hanger 3 Freebird, Welcome to Requiem. Over." "Just dropping off the Kids Control. Would be lying if I said I wish I could stay Over." "Copy that Freebird. Control Out." Oh yeah, Ty thought, It's real funny when you're losing troops like it was the new fad. How long would it take before his name was just another KIA report? Who would remember him? Ty was so lost in his thoughts he Jumped at the hiss of the ramp dropping. His soon-to-be Brothers in arms looked at him sternly. He was just a rookie to them, the First In First Out, and who was he to complain? He was just an Acting Sgt. He had only reached this rank in the Academy. His squad mates had fought before. they had bled before. He was nothing in their eyes. As Ty descended the ramp into the Hanger a few of the crew members stopped to see the new arrivals. At least that's what he thought until he saw what they were looking at; Coffins. 10 of them, being loaded into Freebird 1 for transport back home for burial. "Oh F--- no..." Ty said with out realizing. He felt a sharp elbow to his ribs. It was his CO, Lt. Cortez. "Show some respect kid." He said in a gruff tone. "Y-yes sir! sorry sir!" "look kid, I know you're nervous, But you're not gonna get a free ride, as far as I'm concerned you're a Private. you need to earn those chevrons." "Yes." "Yes?" "Yes sir!" "good. now put that damn cigar out and stow your gear. we got a briefing at 0600 tomorrow." "Sir Yes Sir." Ty jogged off to the Barracks. Great, first day, get chewed out and treated like a child in front of his whole squad. maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he was killed tomorrow... He shook that thought out of his head. Best to just keep his head down. Things would get better right? The Intercom crackled on. "Medbay! Standby, incoming Casualties!" Wrong.
