Please bring back invasion. It was the best part of Reach. I would really enjoy the grenade launcher back. The sticky detonator is far too slow to be useful against vehicles and is basically just something you rush up to a crowd and shoot jn. The grenade launcher had EMP and could also be used skillfully against infantry. The grenade launcher is different enough from the sticky detonator and railgun that I hope it is added at a later date. I mean, a fair amount of the code for it could be transferred over to the new engine I would think? Please bring a UNSC flying vehicle back. The pelican is already flyable in the campaign so I feel like its inclusion wouldn't be that difficult aside from balancing issues. Maybe with some DLC there could be a game mode where you have to drop teammates into battle with a pelican? That would be cool Other than a few things I am really enjoying the game and this list is more of a "it would be cool if" instead of a complaint list. I already have more hours than Reach by far

I enjoy the game, I really do, but without a visible ranking system the online experience is really suffering. halo 2 and 3 had it and had ranked and social playlists to boot. If you wanted to mess around or relax you would play social. Ranked playlists were fornpeoppe who were mostly serious and cared about their rank. It was much rarer to have people farming achievements/commendations in ranked because they wanted to win. Halo 4's high console competitor for online is black ops 2 and it has a ranking system.. halo had one 8 years ago, but decided to get rid of it. I did not like reach as much for the same reason.

That's the point. It is useless at range on larger maps because of the crappy scope. At the very least it should have a 2.5x scope. A 2x scope makes it almost useless. it already is basically useless when shooting from the hip
-
As it stands now, the light rifle has the slowest unscoped kill time of all the rifles. However it has the fastest kill time when scoped. The issue with the light rifle though is that it only has a 2x zoom. To be competitive with the DMR as a marksman rifle it needs to have a 3 scope or something similar. It is already the weakest of the rifles when shooting from the hip, especially considering its low magazine size so it should at least be the best long range rifle. The DMR wouln't always win at long ramge and the light rifle would still lose out most of the time in close quarters.. which would be the trade off of the 4 shot kill when scoped in.

Combine the best of Halo Reach and Halo 4 = perfect game
wookieeassassin replied to wookieeassassin's topic in Halo 4
I said armor lock was more dependable. I didn't say I wanted it back. I just would like the shield to be more dependable. Also, I was just saying to combine the **best** parts of Reach and Halo 4, not to just stick them together as I know there are issues with both. -
So I went back and played some Reach today and noticed some things that I liked that are not present in Halo 4. 1) Armor customization options. Almost all of the armor customization options in Reach look great. Halo 4 armor customization just looks like the same piece but with the edges being either more round or sharper. 2) playing as Elites. Playing as elites was awesome 3) Invasion game mode. Easily the best game mode in Reach. I loved the pseudo-classes and the asymmetrical teams 4) Evade armor ability. Thruster pack is similar but not anywhere near as good IMO. 5) Armor lock. Ok, ok, don't jump down my throat just yet... but here is the thing.. even though armor lock was overpowered and annoying it served its intended purpose. I feel like the hardlight shield works great sometimes but other times it feels really unreliable against explosives. 6) UNSC flying vehicles. the falcon wasnt anything extraordinary.. just a transport helicopter with chainguns.. but it was still fun to fly in multiplayer. the Hornet from halo 3 was also fun. 7) Enemy AI. I was playing firefight on legendary and an Elite would straight up own you by himself if you just ran straight at him. In halo 4 in spartan ops an elite will just be like "rawwr!!" and throw a grenade at you 5 miles per hour while you shoot the crap out of him. evasive manuevers in the banshee are waaaaay better. 9) you don't have to aim the wraith reticle halfway up the screen just to hit something 20 feet in front of you with the plasma mortar Things I really like from Halo 4: 1) Excessive bloom is gone. 2) Everyone can sprint now. It speeds the gameplay up IMO. 3) Damage bleeding through shields is back! 4) Maps, dear lord the maps. The only maps I dont love are abandon and longbow, and I only think they are not great because 4v4 on abandon has everyone camping the main lift and 8v8 everyone camps the center base on longbow. For any other gametype (dominion for example) they are great too. Halo Reach's maps were pretty awful.. some of them were OK, but most of them were mediocre at best. What made them worse is that many of them were areas that were reused in the campaign, making them feel less special. Pretty much all of the forge world maps were terrible... just a bunch of gray blocks on a grassy field 5) The weapons for the most part seem more balanced. The beam rifle is back. All the weapon models look great in my opinion. There are cool new weapons that have been added like the railgun (a power skillful one hit kill power weapon than the rocket launcher) One thing from Halo 3 I would like to see come back is the Elephant in big team. Having some sort of mobile CTF like Battlefield 2142 had would be pretty cool IMO. Does anybody else think if the best of Reach and Halo 4 were combined (and a couple things from Halo 3) then the resulting game would just about be perfect? Are any of the things I mentioned planning on being added in the January update?

Editable player traits by loadout would be cool
wookieeassassin replied to wookieeassassin's topic in Halo 4
I'm thinking it would be awesome to be able to have a gametype/playlist with wildly different classes. You could have some sort of class-based game mode like team fortress 2 or something haha. It would be really interesting to see a bunch of different Spartans running around with different health, weapons and movement speed. You could disable weapon pickup so people can't take the weapons that the other classes use. Imagine someone running around at 250% speed with a suppressor or a storm rifle while another player is trying to connect with the gravity hammer haha -
I am thinking this could be used in matchmaking and definitely used in custom games: base player traits can be changed currently pretty easily. However, it would be cool if you could change a player's traits (movement speed, etc.) based off of what predefined class they are using. So, for example, you could have a scout class that moved at 150% speed but only had automatic weapons. On the other hand you could have a player with a SAW (damage reduced some in options) and have them move 90% normal speed, but give them 125% shields. This would be great for custom games but I can really see this shone in matchmaking. A game mode could disable player loadouts and offer predefined classes with damage, speed, etc. modifiers and it would make for some interesting games. Another option that would be cool to add is the ability to make certain classes not show up on radar. For example, an assassin class could have 75% health and an automatic rifle, sticky grenades and the stealth perk for fast assassinations. What does everyone think?

It can seriously be killed in a matter of seconds just by having a couple people shooting a DMR at it. DMR should still hurt it but not as much.
-
The thuster pack needs to be buffed. It doesn't move you far or fast enough to be super useful and having it run out after using once is lame. Also, it should be allowed to help people cross wide ledges to give it a little bit of the advantage a jetpack has. Thanks.

Really, if a team already has a sniper, shotun, rocket, etc. they should not get a personal ordinance drop with another sniper , shotgun, etc. It is no fun at all to play a team who has three snipers. It gets even worse when teams decide to use active camo. On a similar note, cloak needs to be drained after your fire or at least deactivated when you zoom in with a sniper. This was a problem in Reach and camo was taken out of game modes where there were snipers.
-
Having weapons disappear in a matter of seconds once they are dropped is incredibly annoying. It happens in Spartan ops and matchmaking. It is entirely unfair that if someone has a rocket or sniper and gets killed that they don't get punished for it by having someone else pick it up. Please fix this.

Is anyone else sort of irritated that a map pack has been released a month after launch, but things like being able to view your FileShare on the waypoint website, in-game file browser, etc. aren't working? Also, things like the boltshot's overpowered nature haven't been fixed yet. The dialogue in Spartan Ops definitely needs to be re-done as well; as it currently is, it is quite childish in nature. The dialogue is very cheesy and feels like it was written to appeal to pre-teens, which **technically** shouldn't even be playing the game anyway. The humor that the writers also tried to include is fall-on-its-face fail as well... in my opinion, I would rather not have Spartan Ops at all if 343 is going to do a mediocre job with it, as I feel like that actually detracts from the game's overall value. 343 could be spending time doing research and looking at player feedback to come up with new maps, new game modes, new weapons, how to balance the weapons better, etc. instead of Spartan Ops and I would guess that would be much more appreciated by the community as a whole, although I could be wrong.

I really enjoyed 1v1 in Halo 2, but there hasn't been such a matchmaking playlist for a long time.. I understand the issues with 1v1 and camping after you get ahead, but that happens in doubles too. Perhaps having the game mode be like team regicide (without the regicide bonus points) where they have a marker that shows up over their head if they are winning. However, if possible it should only show up when they stay in that area of the map for too long (e.g. staying in the same room for 30 seconds or more).

Yeah I really want some ranked playlists and a leveling system. I really enjoyed trying to get my skill level up in Halo 3. Also, I would like for my overall kill/death ratio not to count when I get added to a game and put on the team that is getting stomped. I also would prefer it if my overall K/D wasn't affected by what I do in CTF, Oddball, King of the hill, Flood, etc. It should be shown post-game for sure, but having it go towards your overall K/D gives some players an incentive to play those modes as if they were slayer and ignore the objectives... Is there any solid date in January it is coming? Thanks.
