  1. This is pretty much a no brainer, eh? AFK player's piss me off... and even when I go AFK I wish the game would boot me after a couple minutes. The worst is when you have a player with 1 or two guests, with only the main profile actually playing. So you have 1 guy playing, and 2 useless cyborgs standing around getting killed. If your friends/siblings leave mid game, then quit!!! Oi vei.
  2. Wen Halo 3 came out, people complained to the bitter end over the inclusion of armour abilities. It was "halo is ruined", "I give up on Halo", "This is unfair", "Bungie blew it" Lather, rinse, repeat. People can't see past the trivial changes to what is actually an amazing game. Only years later do people look back with nostalgia.
  3. Take a break? It's not going to be fun all of the time. depending on how I feel, I'll play a few games a day, and as soon as I get bored or start getting my @$$ kicked i stop playing or pop in another game. No use in forcing yourself to play something that your not enjoying.
  4. If your getting hit by 8 grenades at once, you might wanna reconsider your positioning... Just sayin.
  5. Lol, shut up Tornado. His question was valid, and yours was a convoluted mess. We are all well aware that you hate the new Halo, nobody cares...
  6. I've also been really enjoying Dominion. Definitely a keeper.
  7. Personally I think grenades are awesome. Makes the combat more intense.
  8. You may want to learn how to use capital letters. Sentence structure wouldn't hurt, either. Then you might be abel to maintain some semblance of credibility. Funny how you dub the words of people who like the game as "opinion", and of course whatever your talking about (not that anybody can even begin to understand) is "fact". Lol... some world your living in, all by yourself. I have no interest in reading a bunch of complaints on the forum. The real gamer's are gaming online, or out living their lives until they get a chance to game online. They have no interest in your frustrated diatribe. I "dont care about the game I play"... what does that even mean? Because I'm not on the forums complaining about arbitrary BS, I don't care? I care enough to play it on a regular basis, and enjoy it. Not only that, but I don't run my mouth about minor elements being implemented over the course of 6 years in Halo history. Enough of your groundless complaints. Clearly Halo isn't for you, time to pack yo bags. Besides... your a newb, remember!
  9. So, your saying this happens to everyone... except you? Becasue, if it doesn't happen to me... and it doesnt happen to you... then what exactly are you talking about? Or are you just saying something you hate about COD and baselessly attributing it to Halo? Seems like that is the case... "The majority of the people", eh? You mean, the majority of the people on this forum, the majority of the people playing online, or.... you? If COD wasn't around? What whimsical parallel universe are you babbling on about? I care not to speculate on your hypothetical reality. Are you admitting again that you suck? I'm still convinced that the only reason you hate this game is because your terrible. lol WHATT!! Thats just... ridiculous. Go play SWAT, go play anything... the game plays nothing like COD. once again, your just talking. Yes, they can... welcome to the internet. lol... If a single playlist with different settings really fixes everything your concerned about, then your comparison between Halo and COD is officially BS. You can't have your cake and eat it too... unfortunately... Lack of consistency + Baseless frustration + COD bashing = your a newb. Can't argue with math.
  10. You said (...and I quote:) Then when I explained that you suck, you said (...and I quote again:): You sort of took apart your own argument. In any case, you lied at least once. Then, you had the nerve to say... To which I loled. I submit to you that it is YOU who is the closed minded one, and YOU aught to keep an open mind going into this conversation, because it is YOU (yes, you) who has a problem with the game to begin with. And you can rest assured that I have been playing Halo since CE was released in 2002 (or some odd 1 million years ago). Judging by your use of the word "brah" I will also submit that I am older then you, and have likely been playing more competently then you for a greater number of years... But I digress... For you to say that this game "copied COD" is moronic. Yes, some gameplay elements (that exist in every other AAA shooter... for a reason) have been adapted. Welcome to the world of THINGS CHANGE! The core gameplay experience is still a world apart from COD. Different pace, different strategies, completely different aesthetic appeal... the list can go on. If you don't like loadouts and running and ordinances and wild Spartan fun times, then tough! Your not going to get what you want, no matter how much you complain. I am pretty good at both games. If they were anything like each other, I would probably play them both. But I play Halo.... because its different, and I like it? Dont like my opinion? Suck lemons.
  11. Soooo i guess your "one kill run around and die" statement was just baseless complaining for the sake of grouping in COD with Halo... which is silliness... If people are going to complain, they should at least pretend to be consistent.
  12. Lollll. NOOWWWW I GET IT! all the people who complain are simply TERRIBLE AT HALO 4 and CANT GET OVER IT! It all makes sense now. As for me, I popped on for a single amazing Slayer match yesterday and went 26/6. Eye am the greetest!
  13. Lol. funny how the OP had nothing to do with gameplay... and everything to do with customization elements that are (as they should be) standardized elements of any AAA FPS. You don't like customization and more gameplay elements/options? Go play super mario bros.
  14. Great post, OP. That video reminds me why I love this game so much. Whether or not some whiners on the forum miss Halo 3... who cares? This game is amazing, and people will keep playing regardless. Some people will never be satisfied without a time machine. They will find another game to complain about with time.
  15. There's a load out system, and you can run. That is basically the extent to which these two games are the same... two features which should be a part of any FPS. Otherwise, the games play completely differently, which is why I find myself playing Halo. COD boars me, its so bland. Not to say its not a great game. I know plenty of people who play it religiously. Just thought I would point this out as utterly false. The current generation is powerful because both companies designed custom chipsets for their machines, which increased manufacturing costs. The CPU was less adaptive and more expensive, which is why both XBOX360 and PS3 were losing money on each machine for the longest time. The coming generation, both companies will be using standardized, cheaper, more adaptable components, which will make things cheaper for both consumers and manufacturers. At the same time, we might not see the same sort of quantum generational leap that we did between Xbox/Xbox360 (however, this might not be true. they could be very powerful.).
  16. Heres a free tip: don't play at 6am.
  17. I guess its a matter of opinion, I've been having a great time. I feel like they taken the game mechanics forward, with customizable loadoats and ordinance drops and running and specializations and all those little extra tidbits that make the game a little more customizable and on-par with what other shooters have to offer, without taking away from the core experience. Much better than reach. And Halo 3 was so long ago that I can barely remember. Anyways, as much as I would love to continue arguing about the greatness (or lack therof) of Halo's new direction, I've been working for 14 hours and desperately need to mangle some of my more arrogant braincells. PEACE OUT!
  18. no worries brutha, I understand the frustration. But, as I've said, the landscape has changed dramatically since the good ol' day's. Unfortunately, Halo just isn't top dawg anymore. Also, I'm not familiar with the stats for Halo 3. Though, if I do recall, COD was something of an infant back then. COD and Battlefield, along with other XBLA and AAA shooters (advanced warfighter?) have gobbled up the market share that bungie used to bask in. Halo 4 barely did those kinds of numbers in its first week... never mind 2 years down the line. not sure how you arrived at those figures. Definitely using a different set/standard of numbers than me. I used the average daily peak for the past week divided by VGcharts total sales figures, multiplied by 100 to get appx what percent of the total population are online at a single time (nevermind over the course of the day... numbers could be anyones guess.)
  19. Dude... come on. Use the brain that god has graced you with. On day 1, everyone buys it, and everyone plays it. You think that any game, ever, in the history of gaming, has ever maintained even a remote fraction of the online population that is experienced near launch time? Hell NO! I've read that on day 1 of Black Ops 2 release, there were somewhere in the area of 1.6 million people playing on Xbox Live alone... So, 1.6 million then, 250k today, thats a MUCH MORE SUBSTANTIAL decline than Halo's drop from 350k to 80k today. Much more. So, by your logic, every game that has ever existed is terrible because a majority of people stop playing on a regular (obsessive?) basis after a reasonable period of time has passed. I think im probably ****** up the numbers, but MY POINT REMAINS VALID!! What your seeing on that graph its a perfectly normal depreciation of players. check out that gradual slope. doesn't get any sexier than that. In other words: think before you type, mmkay?
  20. I dont have to log on... http://halocharts.co...lpopulation/all Now, do the math based on the peak each day, and a ballpark figure for the number of players over the course of the day... Today was a bad day, and it hasn't peaked yet at 79k. Now.... http://www.vgchartz....e/51758/halo-4/ Look at the number of copies sold worldwide... 7.6 million (yes, i rounded, if anything that hurts my argument anyways.) Run a search for COD BO2: 11.16million units sold on Xbox to date. If you happen to crunch the numbers, about 1% of all Halo players are online (with an as-of-yet lower then average daily peak), while about 2.5% of BO2 players are playing. And, while you may not like the numbers, or the comparison, or Call of Duty altogether, this is the world we now live in. Halo is no longer the monolithic giant that it once was. However, it still has a substantial player base playing every day, and it is still a great game. In any case, you misunderstood (or chose to misunderstand) my statement. What I meant was that those people who are actually playing online aren't just doing it to torture themselves after a long day... they are doing it out of enjoyment. Thats a no-brainer. NUFF SAID! On a side note, all of this being reminded of how much Halo 4 sucks and how Halo 3 is better then butter on toast has caused me to rummage through my DVD case and pull out Halo 3, just to bring about some personal closure. If I find myself impressed and suddenly disgusted by the thought of Halo four tarnishing my beautiful HDDVD drive, I will return with lots of horrible trollesque things to say about Halo, 343i, and everyone who doesn't agree with me. EXCELSIOR!
  21. Oh good lord... Explain to me, then, via link or otherwise, how an individual can display individual bitmap files from Xbox games on their PC without software being illegally installed on their Xbox. I eagerly await a tutorial. So, what your saying is... people complaining on the internet reflects the general feeling of the population of people playing on Xbox Live? Rather than... say... the people on the internet are those who you yourself described as having "given up" on Halo 4, and the large mass of people playing online might ACTUALLY (I know this will be hard for you to comprehend...) enjoy the game!! Who on earth would hundreds of thousands of people, every day, torture themselves by playing a game they hate? Doesn't that seem... counter intuative? Unless your convinced that everyone playing online is simply gritting their teeth and praying that the game they bought will magically transform into Halo 3. In which case, you are deluding yourself. (no surprise there.) There are always complainers. Always people who hate the latest itteration. Always people who despise change, and pine for "the good ol' days". Regardless of what the forums are filled with, logic dictates that the majority of the people who bought the game don't care. In all likelihood, there is zero correlation between the sentiment of passionate haters on the forum, and the nearly 8 million people who own a copy. And why should there be? Halo 4 is a great game. The online content that came on a separate disc, the online suite packed in with ODST, is all of the Halo 3 and Halo 3 DLC in its entirety. ODST is essentially an expansion. So, to expect it to be on the top played list it ridiculous. That is what I meant. You are the one who opened this thrilling dialouge. I suggest you don't start what you can't finish, next time around.
  22. evidently, you cannot. Lol, i know enough to know when your talking out your @ss. Individual bitmap files? I assume then you have modded your box, set up an FTP server, and are actively comparing the individual bitmap files on a PC? Otherwise... you can't compare the files at all... I've played both games thoroughly. Reach is undoubtably better looking then Halo 3. Not by a huge measure, but this is the same console, same hardware, and basically the same engine, so... I'm not sure exactly what you were expecting. Game looks good. period. Erm... actually people CAN say for sure. Of course the gameplay is essentially the same... its the weight of player movement and darker/more rigid aesthetic that make it feel a bit more solid as far as shooting/moving mechanics. In any case, I have always enjoyed the gameplay of Halo titles, and nothing has changed in any considerable way... so what exactly are you complaining about? The game plays well and is fun, nuff said. OST's online suite IS HALO 3. Halo Wars was produced by a different, and now defunct studio, is an RTS, and by any and all qualifications is not a core HALO game... so for you to keep it on that list is grasping at straws. Apples to oranges... remember? Halo CEA is not an online game... its a remake of the campaign. I still count 3 online halo FPSs...... comparing them to the 6 identical COD FPS's is moronic. Besides, COD is a staple in the video game industry... of course more people are gonna play it? Perhaps because people who enjoy the game are playing it, while people who hate the game are online ranting about how its not Halo 3.... There are a million good reasons why the population isnt what YOU expect it to be... and nobody cares. 80k players at high time on a regular day, 7.6m copies sold. Thats about 1 percent of the community online every day, probably 3-5% over the course of the day. If COD sold 11.6m Xbox copies, and has a high time of about 200,000 every day (probably generous), then thats 1.7% of the population at peak time, and probably more like 5% over the course of the day. So, compared to what many are considering the most popular game of all time, I would say that HALO is holding its own. Especially with exponentially more AAA shooters that it has to compete with when compared to Halo 3, which was basically on its own at release. So, people are playing, lots of people, and I suspect that they dont sit there hating the experiance while they play... Numbers are certainly not an issue. 3rd most played on XBL, only behind minecraft and Blackops2... explain to me how thats a bad thing, again? What I mean is, the community is big enough that it wont be sad that one player who spends his time complaining about a perfectly good game stops playing. The community will not miss you, and it doesnt care what you think about what it thinks... about what you think. Lol. Im Canadian, *******. Take your shallow political diatribe and kindly shove it in the usual place.
  23. You mean like... every AAA shooter imaginable? Lol. Its common knowlege that Reach, halo 3 Halo 4 are the ONLY halo games currently operating their online service... so if your expecting 4 Halo games to be among the current ranks then... well... ahahaha. Apples to Oranges. This is a ridiculous argument. How is third NOT ok? The only two games ahead of it are video game staples. If you dont understand that, then tough. So... what your saying, in a convoluted fashion, is that there are over a hundred thousand people playing Halo every day, and most of them hate it? I would hate to think your projecting your preconceived notions of the game onto players you'll never meet. that would be absurd.... Lots of people are playing, lots of people are having fun... shame you cant... Because the game has been patched? Game looks pretty damn ***** to me, certainly an improvement over Reach. Isn't it always the case that pre-release teaser stills look as good as they possibly can... for obvious reasons. Not to mention that 343i made it abundantly clear that Halo 4 was always intended to be released on the 360... as stipulated in the terms of their long-term deal with Microsoft. Really, all you said was that the game is patched, people aren't playing it, and the graphics aren't everything you want them to be. Not a single argument to do with actual gameplay, which is where this game evidently shines. Perhaps if you spent more time playing it and less time complaining about it you might not hate it so much? Basically, it doesn't matter anyway. The game has already been released. 343i can only do so much with patches, and in the end the overall foundation of the game will remain largely intact. They will not take your advice and make it exactly the game your looking for. So, if you really do despise it so much then why not give it up? or go back to Reach? Or Halo 3? You won't have anything to complain about (hopefully...), and the community certainly wont miss you.
  24. Those exact issues have always been issues... every Halo game has had issues online. I'm just happy they fixed it so that people who quite get replaced. People always have problems with one or two of the weapons... and people will always have problems with the matchmaking system, because it is inherently restrictive... and they always manage to bone it one way or another. In Reach I always hated how the objective BTB games were mixed in with TDM, and they fixed it. Quite frankly, I think Halo 4 is great, a step in the right direction, and a ball to play. That is all.
