  1. I watched this yesterday when him and his "crew" were trying out the new DLC maps. He was just doin regular matchmaking on the playlist, so he was going against randoms. One game I seen him pull 500 points and like 38 kills or something.
  2. Well, did Stongside just play all day every day or did he out play everyone? He is one of the only well established pros in the top 500 on Halotracker, so neither would surprise me.
  3. Why are you bumping month old topics?
  4. When I watch Ninja livestream he will get until 3 or 4 BR battles while taking minimal damage in each one. The thing is he jumps all over the place and he is still able to keep his crosshair on the guy the entire time. He will win the fight and the other guy would barely be able to touch him. Of course, not everybody is a Ninja.
  5. That would probably compromise the system of matching players based on their skill range in place in the background already. Besides, with populations as low as 10,000 you are lucky to even get anybody in your skill range.
  6. The only issue I have that is similar to yours is with the Scattershot. The enemy ALWAYS gets the kill with it. Meanwhile, I try to pick it up and the thing needs 5 shots to kill someone. If I am using a DMR and someone kills me with an Assault Rifle, I know one of two (or both) things happened. 1. He was close enough towards where the DMR can not kill him fast enough, even with a 5-shot. 2. I missed shots. Never underestimate someone else's 5-shot. I can see a real competent DMR wasting a Needler real fast. But like I said, I think you would have had to miss some shots/needles. I don't like Grifball. Too inconsistent, even for a a game as inconsistent as this sobi can't comment. I would suggest changing your sensitivity and working on your 5-shot. Also, this is common sense but don't take on targets within their range of enagements. You know, Assault Rifles at close-to-midrange, DMRs at long range, yada yada. If this isn't lag then I feel compelled to give you this kind of advice as it is the only way anyone can really help you out.
  7. Why should we have to stoop down so low? Besides, PV and BS are just crutches. I am sorry, but it is true. I am not trying to paint some fancy idealized tryhard Halo world where everyone uses Battle Rifles and Magnums only and the sprint and instant spawns are off. I am just talking how we play the game. It should be, I shoot at you, you shoot at me and one of us dies. Not, you hide behind the corner waiting to line up your BoltShot with PV. That just isn't fun for either party. And I don't see how anyone can have "fun" using that tactic unless they just live off making people rage.
  8. Lag has been destroying me lately. I never really had the urge to quit games until recently where the lag has been so bad I am going 3-18. C'mon, I am a competent player and scores like that because of lag warrant quitting.
  9. Firepower? That is actually a great idea. I mean, it won't help me get lightrifle kills, but it should help my survivability A LOT. Now I must debate on a secondary weapon... Probably a Surpressor since I have mastered the UNSC loadout weapons. I am not convinced about giving up Stability though. And if I did, it would probably be for Dexterity--especially if I am going to be running Firepower with a surpressor.
  10. The random thought had occured to me the other day, "What if there was a Halo crossover with a different series?" Like, Mortal Kombat vs DC, or Marvel Vs Capcom, for those unfamiliar with the concept. What would you like to see Halo crossed with? What do you think would be the most compatible universe to even cross with Halo? Do you think it could be a good game? By all means, answer any of these questions. I will start us off and say I would like to see a Halo and Star Wars crossover. Imagine it... Chief is floating helplessly through space (as usual) only this time he has unknowingly crossed a temporal fluctuation causing him to end up in a very unfamiliar galaxy far, far away. He crash lands on a planet to find human beings as he is accustomed to. However, something is different about this planet. The city where he has landed is vitually limitless and he can see no "ground level". He notices technology he is unfamiliar with, like people flying around in airspeeders or swoopbikes. Before he can can make his next move, he is surrounded by robed figures. They declare he is a stranger and he must go with them where he will be questioned. Chief is like, "I am not going anywhere and draws his Assault Rifle, ready to fire. One of the the robed figures flicks there hand and Master Chief's assault rifle is tugged from his hand by some mysterious force and tossed away.... That is all I got. But anyways, at the very least it will let you guys exercise your imagination a little bit. What kind of crossovers would you like to see? It doesn't have to be as detailed as mine either.

    Tips anyone?

I don't like vehicles cuz they feel like a crutch. I like to be able to perform well in any circumstance, and if there are no vehicles then I don't want to be screwed. Same reason I don't use Jetpack, because most competitive settings don't allow them. So why even practice with it?
  12. Ah, that is funny. Where did they find all those FOTUS users? I like the Harlem Shake vids. My favorite ones are the Marines and Air Force editions.
  13. I really want to like this gun, but I always seem to find myself getting picked off quite easily the second I get a kill with it. It's almost like, "Hey, that guy over there has a lightrifle. GET HIM!" My current class looks like this: Lightrifle Magnum Frags Active Camo AA Efficiency Stability I use Active Camo because I had assumed that it would probably be the safest way to play with this class... But, AC only really gets you your first surprise kill before someone else notices the highly visible beam of hardlight coming from my direction. Or maybe I am approaching the gun the entirely wrong way and shouldn't be using it as a long range pseudo-sniper class? Maybe I should use it with closer ranged engagements in mind? Haha, I don't really know. Anyway, anybody here that IS successful with this gun have any suggestions? I Could really use them.
  14. I own would-be sword users with my Magnum. Especially when the shotgun is not always available. Since most sword users charge you, it makes landing every shot with the magnum fast very easy.
  15. My most aggressive loadout class to date utilizes active Camo. Battle Rifle Magnum Frags Active Camo Mobility Dexterity As you can see, it is not your typical Camo camping class. This class is meant to actually hit the enemy hard and fast and disappearing when you are in trouble like a ghost. Camo is used to make clean insertions and exits, rather than "holding a position", which is the classical approach to the armor ability. It doesn't feature a DMR or a BoltShot as this class was designed for Midrange engagements on small maps, particularly. So in conclusion, I think Active Camo has legitimate tactics that can be ran with it aside from just camping. That is just the way most people tend to play.
  16. BoltShot is cool when you are trying to punish AR/Surpressor bumrushers. However, it tends to get out of hand. I will see people using ONLY the BS. Like, people trying to use it on me when they are bottom center of Haven and I am happily BRing them from the edge of the map while they try to hopelessly charge at me with it. Like, what are they trying to accomplish?
  17. It encourages more "skillplay". Don't shoot or throw grenades where you friends are at. Obviously, the system gets abused but hey, it's Halo! Where everyone gets a free shotgun with their free invisibility!
  18. The only thing that makes this game a success by any means is that it made money.
  19. The nerf already took place? Didn't even notice. I stopped using it in loadouts a long time ago. And if I did pick it up, I would probably only use it within the 15m range in the first place.
  20. My friend plays on 10 and every time he goes for the sniper rifle--as he is so often compelled to because "sniper" is part of his GT--and he starts missing, I shout "Jeky Aim Montage"! Another issue I am finding a lot is I tend to play a decent amount of Splitscreen online and I find that I always have to bump up my sensitivity when I do. Then when I play by myself on the big screen I am missing shots because the sensitivity is higher from my norm. I also seem to find that higher sensitivities benefit different styles of play more than others. I am tempted to just generalize and say people that play on higher sensitivities are using Automatics most of the time. I even find this property with guns in the same class Like, I think that the Battle Rifle is awesome for me at a 5, but the DMR needs a 3 or something. I hate this inconsistency.
  21. I generally make posts on the board in-between games. No one ever said being SR130 meant you had any skill. If anything, all the SR system really amounts to is your Spartan's mileage with a very low cap. And I would find XP penalties would be very ineffective. The game is just too easy to gain xp, even if you are not even trying. 343 basically throws it at us.
  22. Setting your Xbox connection from Xbox live to My Xbox 360 in the start menu.
  23. Regicide isn't the worst gametype for catching up, especially with a nice fat bounty on his head.
