  1. I always thought his would be OBMA. I have seen that service tag a lot.
  2. Well, Spartans? How would the UNSC identify your corpse on the battlefield, or your teammates in the heat of battle? Mine is F16 'cause my dad is an F16 pilot. Well, no he isn't I just like that quote. But I am a huge fan of Military aircraft and my Spartan uses the Operator helmet so it sort of fits the theme he has going on. One time on Dominion on Exile C was being taken over and I happened to be in a Banshee, so what did Spartan F16 do? He flew over C at maximum altitude and jettisoned the aircraft and free-falled onto the top of the base and cleared it out like Rambo. Was it the smartest thing to do? No. Did it make me feel awesome? YES!!! Anyway, I apologize for the unnecessarily long anecdote. Feel free to explain your service tag too.
  3. Master Chief becoming a Jedi? Sounds like a new franchise to me! *throws cash at it*
  4. What exactly are you looking for? Roll Powertech in the Bounty Hunter Class and Jedi Sentinel in the Jedi Knight class if you want to dominate in PVP. You think people complain about the boltshot and DMR a lot here? You haven't seen anything until you have seen the rivers of tears from the complaints BioWare gets about how overpowered these two classes are. Guardian is a solid option too if you want to tank and people are always looking for tanks on their guilds and teams. Also, Guardians can do some decent DPS (Damage Per Second) as well, though it us nothing in comparison to the Damage output of the two-saber wielding Sentinel. I will be honest, I don't know too much about the Sniper but the Operative is one of the better classes in the game as well. Avoid Mercenary like the plague. It is literally one of the weakest classes in the game along with Sorcerers (my class) and Sages. They play good on PVE, but once you start playing against other players with similar gear you will be destroyed in almost any 1v1 situation. If this effects your decision at all, I hear Operatives/Snipers have one of the better stories in the game. However, that is subjective. My personal favorite is the Sith Inquisitor's.
  5. I hated playing as him and he was my least favorite aspect of Halo 2 and 3 (If he was in 3, I don't even remember). I hope he never comes back.
  6. Hone your skills, boost your KD, unlock all the stances, and get commando armor. That should fill your schedule until those specializations come out.
  7. The similarities are uncanny to me. Anyone else notice this? I mean we all know Halo's multiplayer armor has drawn inspiration from other sci-fi shooters such as Killzone and Haze. If you know if any other helmets resemble helmets from other games, feel free to add them. Those are just the ones I noticed.
  8. *Star Wars fanboy walks into topic and cracks knuckles* Star Wars wins every day of the week and every month of the year. The Chief and his rag-tag group UNSC Marines are cool and all but they are just no match for anything to do with Star Wars. It is simply an unfair fight in every sense of the phrase. Era has nothing to do with it. From a technological standpoint, the Star Wars universe is ahead of Halo's by leaps and bounds. The Empire, Old Republic, New Republic, or any other faction possess advanced vehicles, weaponry, starcruisers, and space stations that totally eclipse anything Halo's visionaries could ever hope produce in both scale and power. Mandalorians, which are essentially the Spartans of the Star Wars universe--if they ever saw the Chief--would gun him down with their EE-3 Carbines before he even knew they were there and then proceed to continuously pulverize him in unarmed combat until he cried for mercy. After which he would be inevitably decapitated with a Vibrosword and his helmet worn as decoration by Mandalore the Indomitable. The Mandalorians were a clan of certified bad***** that were known to give some lesser trained Jedi and Sith a run for their money. They could easily make Chief or any other Spartan wish they had never trifled with their clan. And I shouldn't even have to really mention that just about any force user could single handedly wreck anyone or thing in Halo. The Emperor himself was so powerful he was able to destroy planets with his force lightning alone, he never even needed a death star; that was just a symbol of the Empire's power to keep planets from rebelling. And he was only one of many powerful Sith Lords and Jedi Master that had such power. Forerunners? Pfff. Star Wars had the Rakata and the Infinite Empire. they constructed machines so great they were able to generate limitless numbers of armies, starships, and weaponry. A lot of their technology was so advanced it actually derived its power from the force itself. They built power generators that drew energy from hyperspace, and if overloaded, would destroy star systems entirely and the effects of which would spread to nearby star systems. they created mind prisons that would trap even the strongest of wills within the confines of a tiny cube for the rest of eternity until some other fool decided to play with it. Any way you dice it up, Star Wars always comes out the winner. I am sorry, but it is the truth. The creators of Star Wars have had almost 40 years to polish their lore while Halo has had a little over 10. It is just a far more advanced story. In fact, one can even argue that most of everything that has been done in Halo has already been done in Star Wars with different names attached. Maybe with time Halo's lore can grow to rival Star Wars, but as it stands right now SW is the clear and decisive victor.
  9. Yeah, it is rather redundant considering you can 1v1 anyone on your own terms as long they accept the challenge.
  10. I have a hard time seeing how people perform consistently well in this game, other than farming kills in vehicles and and with a DMR and camo in BTB and objectives. Granted there are some guys out there that are just genuinely really good at this game, but from what I have seen they're far and few in-between. I play strictly Regicide and Team Slayer, which IMO are the most unforgiving gametypes on one's KD. Regicide is just a meatgrinder, and Infinity slayer is hit and miss when you play with randoms and without a mic. Especially in maps like Complex where you could win any 1v1 fight, but you better pray to goodness that you are not out in the open when you are one shot because you can almost COUNT on someone finishing you off from across the map with a DMR. I am in he same boat as you. I don't do consistently good or bad. Sadly I don't think there are any fixes for this either as the randomness is just intrinsic to the game design. If a visible trueskill rank were to ever come out, which I doubt will happen much to the dismay of many people, I doubt there would be nearly as many 40s and 50s as there were in Halo 3 and I don't think It iis because of the population numbers
  11. Wow, I have a 29? What a shame. I remember having a 43 in Halo 3. Can't believe how bad I've gotten.
  12. Guys, guys. We're forgetting to give credit where credit is really due here: the warthog.
  13. Major League Gaming: where all the pros and would-be pros play.
  14. I agree. I for one am sick of us Warthog drivers always getting the short end of the stick. what map were you playing BTW? I am gonna take a stab in the dark and say Harvest.
  15. not only did you post this in the wrong forum, you posted it on the wrong website entirely. I don't think 343 Industries is affiliated in any way with this forum. That would be waypoint.
  16. Are these kind of threads even allowed? If that was the case I would have been trying to rally up users to get on some Dominion going. You know, hustle for that sought-after Commando armor. Better than playing with randoms.
  17. I figured it might just be me. well at the very least some people might be able to get some laughs at my expense, if nothing else.
  18. And no, it isn't because I am being killed like a ****. I notice every now and then when my Soartan dies that he sounds like a female when he utters his death moan. It is weird, and I know there are a lot of bugs with this game so it wouldn't surprise me if some audio files got mixed up somehow. It has gotten to the point to where I have checked my Spartan's gender a few times after matches just to make sure. Anyone else notice this or is it just my perception fooling me?
  19. This isn't even about rank or exp, it is about having a very buggy game. I imagine people could care less about the exp. they just want to have a functional game. that horse has been beat to death too, however.
  20. R u for realz??? No, seriously I am going to try this. This isn't really for my benefit anyway; I am actually like under 40 away from mastery, but that would speed it up. If anyone can confirm this it would be nice because I won't be playing until much later.
  21. I know a lot if us would like to have that Assualt stance since it is he easier of the stances to unlock. So here we'll discuss good ways to get the first strike in a given map. My favorite map for first strikes has definitely got to be Adrift. what I like to do is NOT take the upper tunnel at the beginnig. Instead go through the the tunnel on your level that leads to the open center and put your crossshair on the enemies upper tunnel. Generally at least one guy takes that tunnel to try and get the high ground or the sword (if you are not playing SWAT). You can generally get a free headshots on the dude that takes it (if on SWAT) or use nades to soften them up before the kill. Beware, if more then a few seconds have elapsed then they are probably not taking the upper section and are most likely taking the narrow hallway on their side. In which case adjust your crosshairs accordingly or get out of dodge because they can take you by surprise. I will post more as they come to me.

So I went back to bumper jumper (it has been a while) and I realizes that the crouch is on the left stick too, just like on Recon. So I would like people to disreguard my first post as it seems the benefit of Recon also is shared with Bumper Jumper. I still believe recon is better than default however as the crouch is on the left stick and you can still use the Jetpack.
  23. I know i was just trying to point out the inconsistencies in story vs game mechanics to explain gameplay.
  24. I don't buy the "the suit keeps them jumping" argument cuz then why wouldn't they be able to sprint forever? the suit doesn't let them do that...
