  1. Bumper Jumping is the cornerstone of many player's playstyle. and honestly, if it wasn't for that stick layout EVERYONE would have a Jetpack. do you really want that?

I use Recon control settings so the crouch is on the left stick. I use this to my advantage to get a "dropshot", so-to-speak, on many unsuspecting opponents. Would you say that this strafing/teabagging technique is optimally used on Recon or a different control layout? I ask this because bumper jumper is good but a lot of experienced players are and have been wise to this and massacre bad bumper jumpers. Recon gives you the ability to crouch shot without sacrificing a jetpack.
  3. Well, seeing as how the original point of the topic has already been made moot, I see no problem with speculation... I'd like to see a specialization called "Starwalker" or something to that effect. The perk would give the Spartan a resistance to gravity and would allow for bigger and longer jumps.
  4. Yeah, I actually didn't know about that but it explains a lot. I had gotten Bullet to he Head mastery a few days ago at the end of a specialization. I was only like 1,200 from leveling and then I got the commendation. I was wondering what happened to my other 8,800 exp, but I Hess it just didn't carry over.
  5. Yeah, I see what you are saying. If you think of it that way then they would be in the same spot before the new specializations were released. Maybe they would try to strike a middle ground and give you like, 15-20% of the exp earned post 130. That would seem reasonable to me.
  6. And you're already at SR130. Do you guys think that any exp you get after hitting 130 would then be rewarded to you all at once when more specializations are released? I don't know how the whole 130 thing works, I'm not that high yet. Does the bar with exp just dissapear or something? Or does it display some insanely huge exp value you'll never actually hit as a placeholder until you get more ranks? I'm just thinking about this cuz it would suck if they did go ahead and released more specializations and never gave you retro-exp for everything done post-SR130, if I may make up a term.
  7. Like 75% of my online games are played with my friends on splitscreen. I try not to do BTB for this precise reason as many maps become unplayable. Anyone else notice the same issue for splitscreen on forge maps? I was doing a 1v1 with a friend on splitsscreen on this Guadian remake I downloaded and the framrate SUCKED! I even tried a different version by someone else on a different template map and I had the same issue.
  8. I can't believe they are giving away 6,000+ exp (unless I read the challenge wrong) for 15 secondary weapon kills in one game. I play SWAT today and I find everyone using magnums. It is definitely easy pickings today, so BR/DMR users rejoice. Also, I think the other challenge is 12 headshots in on game and the waypoint challenge is 250 precision loadout weapon kills. 343 is basically saying, "Hey everybody! Go play some SWAT!"
  9. only game I ever did 100% on is Burnout 3: Takedown. very very frustrating game, if you are familiar with the series. Other than that, there has to be a big incentive for me to even consider 100%-ing a game.
  10. Geeze, that sucks. People will steal anything, huh? Well, I love the force lightning ability and it was THE reason I rolled a Sith Sorcerer in SWTOR. However, in SWTOR, the Sorcerer's lightsaber deals so little damage it is really nothing more than a glorified glowstick. I love KOTOR because it allowed you to get closer to being an actual Jedi/Sith than most Star Wars games would allow. You could use force and lightsaber skills effectively no matter what class you played, and the story was always filled with mystery, intrigue, self-discovery, and plethora of moral situations that allowed really gave the characters a 3-dimensional quality. The first KOTOR is so successful at this that they made Revan into a superstar within the Star Wars universe. That is an accomplishment in a story like Star Wars that has so many larger than life characters already like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, and Obi-Wan. And how can you not love HK-47?
  11. @ Grif: SWTOR is free to play and download now. However they still accept payments for sub accounts. @ Director: I've played through KOTOR I and II over and over and each time I do I almost always play darkside. the gameplay is just too fun to resist and not to mention you get the best offensive powers in the game. I have had so much fun playing a Consular/Sith Lord in KOTOR II as I always abuse the Hssiss spawn glitch on Korriban. Running through the rest of the game as a level 50 was just beast. On my latest playthrough, I made a Sith Lord and was able to get his Wisdom stat up to 47. This made Force lightning wreck anything. It also allowed me to use Jedi mind tricks on bosses like Darth Nihilus and Sion so theywould actually be friendly for a while. Darth Traya at the end was able to resist this, however her lightsabers couldn't. I think I also had a strength stat of 28 which made lightsaber combat deadly after master speed was used. Obama, I would suggest buying it for your PC at your local gamestop. I believe they are cheap nowadays and they are still very good games by today's standards.
  12. Teamwork is the name of the game... well infinity slayer is, but you know what I mean.
  13. Has anyone played this series of games? I have seen a few Fallout and Skyrim threads so I don't find it to be a far stretch of the imagination to think there are some people who have played Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic. I myself have played both and I am a huge fan of the story and the rich context behind the Old Republic era in the Star Wars universe. I would generally role Jedi Consulars because I like to beable to destroy mobs of enemies with UNLIMITED POWER (force lightning). I liked The Sith Lords a little better because I found the companions to be less annoying and you and the atmosphere was a bit darker--albeit a little empty. For the record I hate BioWare's decision to make SWTOR the spiritual successor to the series as I feel it wasn't linear enough from the KOTOR storyline to give me a sense of closure on the series, but that's just me. anyone else like this fantastic RPG?
  14. I think what has happened is your hidden trueskill value has gone up in whatever playlists you frequent and the enemies you are facing are clearly of a higher skill level than you are used to facing. This being said, you will have to either step it up and evolve your tactics and strategies to competently play in this skill bracket or just lose enough towards where your trueskill goes back down. I don't know if that is for sure, but that would be my guess as this happened to me. I was owning for a few days and then I noticed all of the sudden my opponents weren't playing like morons anymore and were actually out gunning, smarting, and maneuvering me.
  15. Currently, my only issue is I REALLY REALLY hate running out of ammo and grenades. I hate having to use up package slots just to keep a decent amount.
  16. I use the BR most of the time but it really varies between map and situation. Sometimes I will just find myself hopping around with a magnum. I bet a carbine would wreck in SWAT
  17. http://www.examiner.com/article/halo-4-title-update-planned-for-february-specializations-unlocks-coming-soon "343 Industries has been on vacation with the holidays but they returned Wednesday with news on what's coming up for "Halo 4" in the next couple of months. This includes weekly Spartan Ops and multiplayer playlists updates plus the long awaited Specialization unlocks. There's also a title update planned to come along with the Majestic map pack. The "Halo 4 Infinity Challenge" still has a couple of weeks to run but season one of Spartan Ops and the multiplayer playlist updates will return to their regularly scheduled Monday updates starting on Jan. 21. This will also be the first week that Specialization will start unlocking for everyone with the Pioneer and the Pathfinder Specializations on the docket first. Grifball will finally be making an appearance in the playlist rotation as well. The Majestic map pack is coming in February for "Halo 4" with two small maps and one medium-sized map. A leak previously dated the DLC for a Feb. 25 release and that's when we expect the new Title Update mentioned by 343 Industries will come as well. Details of what's being fixed, added or changed have not been revealed. You can take a look at the "Halo 4" weekly schedule of releases below. Week of 1/21 Spartan Ops Episode 6: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. "Forge Test" playlist (name not final): A rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps such as Relay. Help us test these maps by providing feedback and reporting bugs that will assist us in getting them ready for Matchmaking! Specializations: Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations unlocked for all players. Week of 1/28 Spartan Ops Episode 7: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. Grifball playlist: A rotational hopper featuring everybody’s favorite virtual sport. Catch the disease! Specializations: Engineer and Stalker Specializations unlocked for all players. Week of 2/4 Spartan Ops Episode 8: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. Team Doubles playlist: A rotational hopper for those of you that like action of the 2 vs 2 variety. Specializations: Rogue and Tracker Specializations unlocked for all players" I don't know if this has been posted in a different forum. Either way it was news to me when I read it and should be welcome news to anyone who is stuck at SR70 or is looking for more maps and playlists to break the monotony of gameplay as of late.
  18. People want those weapon skins, arnor pieces, and emblems faster. This has to be the reason cuz I know they're not trying to get to SR130 for the "prestige".
  19. I heard the suppressor skin is pretty wicked. However I doubt I am going to be a tracker for while. I really like the alt skin for the carbine, plus rogue has one of the better armor suits.
  20. Was there ever an xp cap for double xp weekends?
  21. You know, you seem to be a pretty vocal opponent of the DMR. I can respect that as I understand that in a game where bullet magnetism and aim assist are ubiquitous, it can be tough to develop true skill when the game is giving you guns with training wheels as a loadout weapon. I would like to know some of your insights as a BR user. How do you use your BR so effectively in a game running rampant with DMRs on 2 sensitivity? What tactics do you use to outgun or outsmart other players with a gun that provides such a huge advantage to even the worst Halo players? As I said I'm interested with any advice even if it doesn't conform with the norm.
  22. Yeah I agree with that a case can be made for every tactical package when designing a loadout. I just often find that shielding and mobility seem to compete with each other the most on certain classes. Like, let's say: DMR Boltshot Frag Jet Pack Mobility Dexterity This is a very common loadout I see for Regicide and Slayer. I think Shielding would probably be most people's next choice on a loadout like this if they were to forego mobility. And the same can be said for many loadouts where the two are both highly competitive choices. The decision can be difficult for some players.
  23. I find that to be a huge factor in gametypes such as Regicide because someone not being very mobile is very prone to being made into swiss cheese by DMR/BR fire. However, on modes with team mates on these very same maps, I could see mobility losing importance because of teammates to cover you. In that instance I can see where shielding would be desirable as well as extending individual KD which is very important in Infinity Slayer.
  24. Hello. I tend to play a lot of Regicide and Infinity Slayer. Anyone who plays these two game types frequently knows the maps are generally Haven, Adrift, Abandoned, Solace, and sometimes Complex. I was wondering which tactical package you use for these maps if you're choosing between Shielding and Mobility. I usually pack at least one class with firepower and resupply and those two tacts don't generally compete for the same spot on a class because they serve such different functions. The same can be said for AA Efficiency as it doesn't face competition for niche class slots. I tend to find the choice to be difficult when I have to choose between shielding and mobility on certain classes because they seem to have the same role in combat situations--increasing survivability. Sorry if it seems dense but I was just trying to articulate my main point. Which tact do you generally pick and why when they are in direct competition for a spot on the same class? Do you feel it is dependant on the armor ability such as jet pack, active came, or PV? Like I said, I struggle with the choice myself but I have been picking mobility more often lately because the extra seconds shielding gives you on your shield recharge rate can also be made up for by running like mad from a battle. It also gives you the edge in getting to the King faster on Regicide and covering more area for securing power weapons on Infinity Slayer. The only thing I miss about shielding is not having to stay behind cover as long and getting back into the same fight again. However, that is my opinion. I'm interested in others as well:
  25. Stability and wheelman are both viable in certain circumstances. Can't make the argument for the others unfortunately. Leveling up in this game however really just amounts to xp gaps in between getting new emblems, weapon skins, visor, and armor.
