  1. Anybody with some Dew and Doritoes and some time to kill on Spartan Ops can easily climb the ranks to SR130 in a couple of weeks instead of working their way up by besting other players. That in itself is disappointing.
  2. Customization in itself makes gameplay fun. Not everyone sees this, I get it. However many people get kicks from making their Spartan an expression of their individualism. Adding more stances, pieces of armor, and more emblems to unlock only appeals to a specific segment of the Halo population that appreciates the option of being able to separate yourself from other players. If someone doesn't care about customization, then they can just play in recruit armor forever with the basic color scheme and this topic is irrelevant to them. I think there should be some comic relief stances too--like a teabagging stance.

  4. What was that? Stances are definitely not useless. They are a part of customization, which is a big portion of Halo's appeal. They also effect the game indirectly because of players using certain weapons in matchmaking just to achieve an ordnance mastery. It may not be a game changing mechanic, but it isn't useless.
  5. A sword stance would be the new Assassin/Last Stand. Guarantee it. It would also provide players added incentive to master certain weapons, or possibly even vehicles, I daresay.
  6. I like to start my games off with this loadout: Prim: DMR Sec: BoltShot Nades: Frag Armor Ability: PV. Tactical: Mobility Support: Ammo The bottom line of this package is getting to a power weapon or position quick in the beginning of the match and having the utility and firepower to hold and survey the area with PV. If you choose to take the Power Weapon, Ammo gives you the most out of it and your DMR which will lose ammo quick if your outlive the capacity.
  7. I hope they add some more in future content releases. It's just a little disappointing, with all the combinations of armor pieces, colors, and emblems a player can choose to customize their Spartan with, the only stances I see people use is Assassin and Last Stand. Assassin Last Stand. Last Stand Assassin. Recruit. Last Stand Assassin. Including myself. You have some people rockin' Assault and maybe a weapon mastery stance, but those numbers are minuscule reatively. I mean, I'd like to see a stance where a Spartan is Dual wielding some weapons (even though you can't) or holding a grenade. I'm sure it couldn't be that far a stretch of the imagination to think more may be released within the near future.
  8. Do you change your NAT type on the 360 Dashboard? Mine seems to be stuck on moderate and the in-game menu options don't change it.
  9. Ragnarok is controlled chaos. It is about as close as you can get to a "good old-fashioned, the whole neighborhood is invited" free-for-all. And the best part? IT IS NO HOLDS BARRED! Ragnarok is like the Wrestlemania of Halo 4.
  10. I hope they keep the instant spawn. I'd rather not know if I am getting teabagged. At least it all gets saved for the end.
  11. I've played many guests that performed better than their host accounts.
  12. One time I played against two SR130's in a team slayer match with my cousin. I was crouching around a corner in Haven. I'm thinking I'm save because I'm not seeing any visible enemies and no one is on the radar. So I turn and look at that ramp that leads to the next level and some dude flies across my screen (he jumped) and nails me about four or five times in the head with the DMR, dropping me before I even knew how to respond with perfect accuracy. My cousin got so mad he threw the controller and shouted, "these guys are using aimbots!" I don't believe those guys cheated, I just think they were that good. I think the same may apply in some of the cases you were describing. I'm sure if there were some hard glitches that were being exploited or abused, 343 and the community would be aware and there would be some action taken if it handn't already.
  13. I would love to have the option, but I probably wouldn't use it too much. I'd just like the comfort of knowing I could.
  14. That option sounds expensive, as alluring as it seems. I play Halo on the cheap. I appreciate the input Bloody Initiate. I think I will chug on with Bumper Jumper. It seems to me, and what your post made apparent was that being good with the jet pack provides you with circumstantial results. However, getting good with Bumper Jumper would allow me to raise my general skill which should help my performance in all other aspects of the game--especially SWAT.
  15. I've been playing between bumper jumper and default controller layouts for about a couple of weeks now. I have to say, I absolutely love it. The ability to jump and aim at once has saved my hide on many occasions. My aim isn't tight enough yet to where I can get headashots as deliberately as I like to, but I imagine that comes with practice. However, I'm also quite fond of the Jet Pack and the many advantages--albeit situational ones-- it provides. I don't do clawing, I'd prefer to either play one way or the other. My question is how do other players reconcile these choices and decide which one to choose? My playstyle is about medium range. I hate long ranges because targets often elude me behind cover before I can deliver the killing shot, and short range is risky with all these pesky pocket shotguns everywhere. Assuming I am using a DMR or Battle Rifle as a primary, what would be a good substitute armor ability since the jet pack isn't an option for me on the bumper jumper. I would like one that pairs well with bumper jumper and would provide some extra utility or mobility. If not I'm inclined to switch back to default. Any input from anyone that has also struggled with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
