  1. I personally would find it very interesting to see the Ur-Didact redeem himself. Somehow he doesn't feel evil in the sense of, say, the Prophets, or ONI for that matter. He believes he is protecting us in some way; remember his final speech: "So misguided. Humanity's imprisonment...is a kindness." It would be interesting to see what he meant by that, and what he thinks he's protecting the humans from. It also makes me, personally, believe that he is not 100% evil, just prejudiced against humans.
  2. The Elites can't be dinosaurs simply because they evolved on a completely separate planet. They are reptiles, but not dinosaurs. Also in response to Fred, Halo 3 was for the most part about putting an end to the Flood and the Covenant loyalists for good, and both felt conclusively defeated at the end. If they were to reappear but be quickly put back down then that would be okay, but I don't want them to be a major part of the new trilogy. I think this is a lot like complaining that the CIS wasn't in Star Wars 4-6. They were effectively destroyed by the Empire. Yes, they could still be around 20 years later, but they certainly weren't active.
  3. I teabag when: 1. The person had teabagged me previously. 2. It was a teammate who had recently betrayed me. 3. The kill was a complete accident (like a falling 720 no-scope).
  4. This. The amount of power weapons makes vehicles too easy to destroy. In previous games to take down a Wraith or Scorpion would usually require some degree of teamwork, while now it's usually just a matter of attacking until the vehicle is destroyed.
  5. Halo 2's higher-rank Elites and Jackal snipers were a royal pain in the butt, but apart from that its campaign was pretty easy. I'm going to have to say Halo: Reach; probably the single most frustrating campaign I have ever played.
  6. Seriously, I will be OUTRAGED if Cortana returns becasuse not only is it near-unfeasible (her personality was fragmented and then the fragments were destroyed along with the Mantle's Approach), it will be a giant middle finger to the sacrifice she made...I think her giving her life at the end of Halo 4 was one of the best outcomes they could have had. Would it have been better if hse had lived? I say yes, but having her die would be much better than having her appear to give her life and then return, rendering her sacrifice completely and utterly meaningless.
  7. PETA are really, really angry at Nintendo. They're attacking them, claiming that Pokemon is "animal abuse" and that it should be made illegal. I'm an environmentalist, but this is just ridiculous: This sums it up best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ge4_0jF2nc
  8. This morning, I got betrayed for a SAW, with no option to boot. I followed the guy who took the SAW after respawning and coaxed him into betraying me again. Once again, there was no option to boot. Later in the match, the same guy got into a Ghost and ran down three of his teammates, including me, again. Apparently, none of us had the option to boot him. Towards the end of the game, with 30 seconds remaining, the guy began driving around the map in a Wraith and splattering every teammate he saw. And he got off totally scot free. My question is, has anyone ever had the option to boot? I know I haven't.
  9. Which one of these ships would win? My guess is the MA would beat LNoS, it appears to be roughly assault carrier-sized, but it's extremely heavily armored (the Infinity's main cannon only left a tiny hole) and presumably its shields are stronger. Any thoughts?

    Noobs

Obvious troll is obvious. Seriously, the BR is probably the most underpowered weapon in the game. It's basically the same thing as the DMR, but it has half the scope and appears to do less damage. No way is the BR OP, if someone is doing well with it then they should get some special kind of spree. Nerf the DMR or, um, what am I trying to say, uhh, "de-nerf" the BR.
  11. Okay, here's how I'd like to see Halo 5's campaign going down. Post feedback and comments. The Chief is being debriefed on Earth. Meanwhile Jul 'Mdama is tracked to a previously unexplored Halo (1, 2, 6 or 7). Jul still has the Janus Key. Infinity heads to the Halo to take the key. The Chief along with various human forces begins exploring the ring and fighting the Covenant Remnant. They find that Halsey has sided with Jul 'Mdama and is assisting his forces by remotely sabotaging UNSC equipment. The Chief finds a massive structure, and finds the Ur-Didact inside it. The Didact releases thousands of Prometheans throughout the ring. In space the battle swings in favor of the Covenant remnant (with help from Halsey's sabotage of UNSC technology). The UNSC quickly goes on the defensive. A sub-division of the Covenant remnant who still believe in the Prophets aquire the Activation Index. The remaining Spartans must defend the control room. The remaining ships of the Arbiter's fleet abruptly arrive in orbit and begin assisting the UNSC. The Ur-Didact disables the Arbiter's flagship, forcing it to land on the ring. Covenant Remnant forces and Prometheans attack the crashed ship. The Chief and remaining Spartans assist Elites and Grunts at the flagship. Jul 'Mdama, leading an assassination team, breaks into the flagship and goes after the Arbiter. Jul finds and duels with the Arbiter. He severely wounds the Arbiter (non-fatally, though, possibly cuts off one of his arms), but the Arbiter still manages to kill Jul. The other half of the Janus Key is taken by the UNSC. The mixed UNSC and Elite forces push the intruders off of the downed ship. The Chief leads a push to attack the Ur-Didact, but he escapes from the ring. The Arbiter, disabled, decides to stay behind and destroy the Halo ring. The UNSC fleet and the Arbiter's fleet evacuates the Halo while the Arbiter destroys his flagship's reactor, sacrificing himself. The remaining ships in the UNSC fleet (including Infinity) and the remaining ships in the Arbiter's fleet agree to find the Didact and end the war once and for all. Whether Halsey survived is left ambiguous until Halo 6. In the Legendary ending, the Ur-Didact is shown with another Composer.
  12. I was wondering where the Arbiter's forces are during the Battle of Requiem. Presumably they're fighting the Covenant Remnant elsewhere, maybe still trying to clean up the mess on Sanghelios or on other Forerunner installations, but I was wondering if there is any other information on what they're up to. Maybe the final book in the post war trilogy will shed some light on what's going on?
  13. No, he's not the Didact, they just share an immunity to the Composer.
  14. I found some more 7 references in the campaign: There are 14 CRS-class cruisers seen in the campaign: Four on "Dawn", three on "Forerunner", three on "Infinity", and four on "Composer". NOTE: The cruisers on "Shutdown" are massive, about the size of the three primary towers, so they're probably CCS-class. Also in the level Shutdown, you have seven targets: two gondola overrides and the carrier wave generator in the first tower, three power cores in the second, and the spire controls in the third. In the level Composer, the Broadsword is in Hangar C 11. C is the third letter of the alphabet. C + 11 = 14 / 2 = 7.
  15. I personally don't feel the Ur-Didact is completely evil. His fears about humanity abusing the Mantle is not unfounded, given what ONI is doing to the Elites, and the way they consistently have tried to destroy each other in the past. However, turning humans into mindless slaves with no self awareness or any sort of consciousness is not the right way to go about preventing them from abusing their power. Who knows, Halo has had enough plot twists that maybe the Ur-Didact will redeem himself somehow. If not, then might be interesting to fight against the Bornstellar Didact in Halo 5, however.
  16. IMO... Halo 2=Halo 3>Halo 4>Halo Reach>Halo:CE and CE:A>Halo:ODST>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Halo Wars
  17. On Legendary H2 was a pain in the butt. Reach was pretty annoying as well.
  18. Someone has been playing too much CoD. Yes, it's a decent game, but it has fans that believe that every single video game needs to be turned into it. Deathstreaks is a stupid idea. It rewards bad players and punishes good ones, and creates an imbalance. If someone gets 6 deaths in a row with 0 kills, they can just quit and try a different match. Plus Halo 4 has a shielding loudout that causes increased resistance to damage, basically the same thing. Besides, if Halo 4 had many more elements of CoD in it then it actually would be CoD. In summary, deathstreaks = terrible idea.
  19. I believe she is trying to avoid being kept as a prisoner by Jul, and trying to get the other half of the Janus Key. As for ONI...well, they are just being ***holes, ordering an execution on a civilian, killing the Elites who want peace with the human species, encouraging and assisting the ones who don't, and just being generally evil.
  20. I always loved the Hornet. However, it didn't require too much skill to use. My favorite vehicle for Halo 4 is the Mantis unquestionably. Probably many people disagree with me on this, but to use the Mantis right does take some skill. Used with skill it can take out a Scorpion, used casually it's hardly more dangerous than a Warthog.
  21. I agree with these points. I don't know what was with that guy who sniped me in the head, or why they'll shoot dead bodies six times or so.
  22. Okay, I was playing Cauldron Base on Legendary this morning. I exited the heavily damaged Mantis I was driving, walked two steps, and one of the Marines sniped me through the head. Has anyone else noticed that the friendly AI is horrendous? Marines just get in your line of fire, empty their clips into dead bodies, and shoot at you for no apparent reason. Spartan-IVs are terrible drivers, and not much better in combat. I think this needs to be fixed, no?
  23. They did say that Halo 5 will be the darkest of the Halo games. Also, the Elites deserve to be eradicated? Even the ones who are still loyal to the Arbiter and want an alliance with the humans? That would be like if we were to kill every Russian because of their former hostilities with us. It's just impractical and illogical.
  24. Read the post again. "So in Halo 5, while we probably won't be fighting ONI directly, it might be interesting to see them opposing us more openly."
