  1. Okay. Derranged, mutated grasshoppers from the outer solar system come to Earth and begin a campaign to kill every living thing on the planet. The military tries to respond but is totally destroyed instantly. In the end a salesman breaks into their spaceship, kills the queen and takes the queen's place in control of the grasshoppers. He then orders them to surround the White House and pelt it with their own feces, leading to his arrest. And yes, I know there's no such thing as a queen grasshopper. That just makes the movie sound more terrible.
  2. Who else thinks that ONI would make a great secondary opposing force in Halo 5? By this, I mean a bit more directly than they are in Halo 4. So ONI is trying to keep the Elites disorganized so that they do not pose a threat to humans again. During the Sangheili Civil War, they killed hundreds (probably thousands) of the Arbiter's followers to eliminate a threat that most likely exists only in their own minds, and by influencing and assisting the Covenant Remnant and Servants of Abiding Truth, have also put many human lives at risk. In fact if it weren't for ONI the Sangheili rebels would probably not be nearly as powerful as they are in Halo 4. So in Halo 5, while we probably won't be fighting ONI directly, it might be interesting to see them opposing us more directly.
  3. Once I put down my shotgun to pick up a SAW. After fighting another player, I turned back to swap my DMR for the shotgun and it had vanished. Yeah, weapons dissapear too fast. Especially shotguns. Is it me or do they dissapear faster than the other guns?
  4. He was referring to the Flood and the threat of it spreading, not out of any hatred or grudge against the human species. I remember one book explaining the infectious potential of a single Flood spore, and 'Vadum even made reference to that. When dealing with a Flood outbreak you simply cannot take any chances. If you give them even a single chance, the Flood will grow exponentially in more or less no time at all. This is further backed up by the way 'Vadum praises the humans during the battle over the Ark (which you can hear at the crashed Pelican on the level The Ark), and refers to John as "Spartan" rather than "Demon", wich is a trusting, if distant, way of addressing him. The in-game dialogue between the Elites and other humans also shows little sign of distrust, continued grudges or anything of the sort for the most part, but there are some exceptions, for instance the Major on Floodgate. As far as I know he only speaks to John once and refers to him as "Demon". So that does suggest that he still is not a friend of the humans. He seems likely the type to join the Remnant. Apart from that individual, none of the Elites in Halo 3 hate the humans, although most seem to not trust them completely, which is understandable. If anything the humans seem to be holding a grudge against the Elites, not vice versa. Thel 'Vadam is not the only Elite who wishes for peace with the humans; not even close. http://www.halopedia.org/Sangheili_civil_war I had no idea that the Arbiter in fact lived entirely by himself over four states.
  5. If 343 does not include playable Elites and friendly AI elites for Halo 5 or 6, a significant portion of the community, including myself, will not be happy. In Halo 3, being alongside both humans and Elites was one of the best parts of the campaign. Playable Elites for 3 and Reach also made for great machinimas. Now, in Halo 4, Elites are more or less gone, except for as hostile AIs. Now I don't personally have that much of a problem with that, although it does mean that you need to also have Reach on hand if you want a machinima featuring them. I understand the reason for no Elites in War Games. I understand the reason for no friendly Elites in the Campaign (the Arbiter's forces presumably have their hands full dealing with the Covenant remnant elswhere). But 343 really does need to bring back friendly and playable Elites for future releases. They are an excellent campaign ally, a handy enhancement for Machinima, an overall good story element, and there's a good-sized portion of the community that takes on Elite-like characteristics (I don't go that far, although Elites are by far my favorite species in Halo). The bottom line is...343 NEEDS TO BRING THEM BACK. I'm sure many people agree with me on this. What are your thoughts? P.S. People who are opposed to me, post a GOOD, SERIOUS REASON why 343 should not bring back friendly elites. If there are any of those weird human supremacists who get outraged over the presence of friendly aliens in a science-fiction video game on this forum, please just don't reply.
  6. Yes, that. Thank you, expect to see the machinima up by Wednesday.
  7. Season 2 could involve the Infinity searching for the other Forerunner planets, or it could involve helping the Arbiter's forces against the Covenant Remnant on Sanghelios. Personally, I'd like to see some more Prometheans. They truly test your skill, and sometimes, your patience. I'm sure we're all familiar how annoying it is to have to focus on Watchers and Crawlers or Knights at the same time. Watching the sky and the ground at the same time is a serious challenge, a lot of the time too much of one, lol.
  8. Only 6 seconds? It always feels like 30 seconds in the heat of the moment, lol. The shotgun does appear to be slightly OP for Halo 4.
  9. So I'm making a Halo machinima using both Halo: Reach and Halo 4. I finished the first episode this morning and I'm working on editing. Here's my question. What is the name of the music track from the end of the level Composer, where the Didact uses the Composer on the scientists? I need it for my machinima. Thanks guys.
  10. AFAIK the SAW is just an AR with a larger clip and slightly increased damage. The SMG meanwhile was balanced. Please replace the SAW with SMGs for Halo 5, 343.
  11. Well with Requiem destroyed, I can't picture the Didact alive. He got composed at the end of Midnight, and with the shield worlds destroyed or decomissioned I don't see how he could be resurrected.
  12. Yes, Commanders are tougher and even the name implies authority. I think it's Knight-Lancer-Battlewagon-Commander. Edit: Is it me or have you noticed variations within the Knight ranks for camouflage. I.e. they have a gray tint on Forerunner, green on Infinity, reddish on Reclaimer, white on Shutdown, and gray on Midnight.
  13. Title pretty much says it all. Is there any info on when Episode 11 is coming out, if it is?
  14. You human supremacist, you In all seriousness, it wouldn't make sense to have Elites in multiplayer MM as there are not any elites on the Infinity. It would be nice to have an "Elite Ops" for Halo 5, where you are playing as Elites working for the Arbiter against Jul 'Mdama.
  15. I have a very hard time accepting this as canon, yet according to Halopedia, it is :S But look at all of the mistakes, discrepancies, and contradictions. Shields. This is clearly before the Fall of Reach judging by how young the Spartans look. Yet their armor has shields. Is there some kind of temporal paradox going on? Elite attitude. One of the bridge officers refers to the Brutes as "our brothers". Strange, considering their age-old rivalry. And no, there were no Elites in sight in the rear of the cruiser. So unless he was talking about the Grunts, then that's another glaring error. Overpowered prowler. Umm...how is a single UNSC vessel designed for covert insertion going to take out a fleet consisting of several dozen cruisers and at least one assault carrier? A UNSC destroyer, far more powerful than a prowler, is not a match for a single frigate. Halsey looks younger than the Spartans. WTF? Personally I don't accept The Package as canon.
  16. Worst lag I've ever seen was when a player on the other team and I ended up controlling the same character. Lots of betrayals for both of us that match.
  17. So if you're losing a fight, being able to do jack about it is a good thing? Armor abilities do require skill to use. Sprint, for example, can be used by anyone, but from what I've seen only a few use it skillfully. For instance yesterday night on Halo Reach, someone used Sprint to blindly charge me with a shotgun. That's not proper use of it. From what I've seen the use of Sprint to close the distance or escape from attack requires some degree of skill. It's the same deal with the jet pack. If an idiot is just flying high over the battlefield with it, you can pick them off easily. But if it's used properly, it can be used to avoid attack, as you pointed out, although I mostly use it for boarding tanks. The only armor ability that does not require skill, IMO, is armor lock. Fortunately 343 threw armor lock in the trash where it belongs. Armor abilities have made the game more complicated. "About to shoot someone with a rocket launcher? No worries, he can just fly up with his jet pack" Wow, using a rocket launcher requires skill now. What a terrible thing. Don't you miss pulling the trigger and getting rewarded with at least one kill 100% of the time?
  18. http://www.halopedia.org/Sangheili_civil_war Do I smell a plot twist on the way?
  19. My thinking is no, I don't think they loved each other in the way that two humans would. However they were close.
  20. True. She seems the type of person who'd kill her own children if ordered to. Yes, she is obeying orders which is fine, but in this case I think ONI is being unreasonable. They have nothing to gain by killing Halsey, and, although they don't know it yet, with her dead they would have lost the key. And the fact remains that killing a civilian is just...well, wrong, as Lasky said.
  21. Palmer is a bloodthirsty b*tch. I hope she ends up with an energy sword through her chest. Unfortunately that's not going to happen because 343 wants her to be the new Johnson. Why did Bungie have to kill Johnson in Halo 3? WHY?
