Are you seriously saying that he should have let the entire planet be composed? The Didact was going to leave for the Composer and then Earth as soon as he failed to destroy the Infinity. Disobeying a direct order is pretty insignificant when the fate of your species is in your hands. As for not turning over Cortana...If she had been deleted on the Infinity, and John had gone alone, the Didact would have killed him, there is simply no arguing with that. If you watch the final cutscene, the Didact defeats John effortlessly. And of course with him dead there would be no one left to stop the Didact, and the planet would have been composed. And before you say "then the Infinity or another ship would have destroyed the composer", according to Halopedia, the Composer "locks up" when it's not active, leaving it pretty much indestructable. So basically, if he had obeyed Del Rio, then it would have been adios, Earth.

Yes, true, their word alone may not have been enough to convince everyone, obviously including him. Del Rio did what he thought was right, and as you have made obvious, he is not alone in his values. However I still believe trying to ensure the protection of the Infinity while putting many more lives at risk was still, arguably a coward's move, in my opinion. Arguably Del Rio was responsible for the deaths of everyone on Ivanoff Station and New Phoenix.

Well the Mammoth is big enough to hold several players, so I'd expect at least a few players if not the entire team to be on the Mammoth at the same time. Then again, your teammates might just wait for you to die and then take the controls themselves.

Thanks Sarge. Spartan Ops is one of my favorite game modes.

34. Letting Kat drive.

Is there any information on when Spartan Ops Season 2 is coming out? I can't wait for it!

My personal faves are Bioshock 1 & 2, Battlefield 3 and, of course, the Halo series.

Will There Be a Halo 2 : Anniversary?
Seeker of Truth replied to jackhall603's topic in Halo 2 + Anniversary
A Halo 2 Anniversary would be fantastic, I think. I'm really hoping there will be one. -
Yes, they wield plasma pistols, but then so did Ultras in Halo 2, occasionally. It's by no means a weak weapon, as Mr. X pointed out. A charged shot followed by a few regular shots equals a pretty quick kill, especially on Legendary. Plus most Warriors still use fuel rod guns, energy swords and the like. It could be that the ones using plasma pistols have been stripped of their honor, and hence they no longer have the right to use powerful weapons.

And by doing so put the entire human species, and probably many more species (such as the elites) at risk. Yeah, that's a great leader.

Here's what I would like for Halo 5. Please reply and leave feedback, criticism etc.! Weapons SMG. That thing was awesome, and a good alternative to the AR. It had a more rapid ROF and a larger clip size, but was weaker, and had a stronger kickback. So the two handheld machine guns were actually different, as opposed to the AR and the SAW that we get in Halo 4. Brute shot. A great weapon against light vehicles like Ghosts, and good for countering n00bs that camp with shotguns. Pulse turret. Basically a Promethean counterpart to the mounted machinegun and plasma turret. Not sure if it appears in multiplayer, but it does in Campaign and Spartan Ops for Halo 4. You know, the white orb that charges up and then fires a continuous beam? Vehicles Shadow. Not sure if many of us remember Shadows, but you fought several of them in the highway tunnel in Halo 2. They're large, dark purple, transport Ghosts, and have a plasma turret on top. Having those back in Halo 5 would be awesome, at least at some point in the Campaign on your side. Locust. Scarabs, I believe, are too powerful to make driveable. However being able to drive a locust would be a good compromise. I'll bet it would make a good counterpart to the Mantis. Seraph*. These are pretty tough opponents in Halo Reach, and would be pretty good for use in space maps. *See the Maps section in my next post. I'd like some space battle maps, and I don't mean on space stations, I mean actually fighting the other team in outer space. Star Wars Battlefront has this, and it would be great to see it in Halo as well. Playable Characters The Arbiter (Thel Vadam). It was great playing as him in Halo 2. Maybe Halo 5 levels could alternate between John and Thel in a similar way. Other elites (in multiplayer). No elites in Halo 4 multiplayer? Really? Brutes, Hunters, and Prometheans (in multiplayer). Friendly NPCs Marines and ODSTs. They may not be the best allies of all, but they're still fun to have around. Also, I'd like to see the return of large squadrons, like the ones you see in Halo Reach and CE. Spartans. I'd like the return of significant Spartan characters, like in Halo: Reach. ELITES AND GRUNTS!!! They were all-round great allies in Halo 2 and 3, and WE ALL WANT THEM BACK!!! PLEASE!!!! Hunters. Putting too many in would probably make the game too easy, but a few here and there would be cool. Sentinels. They never attacked you in Halo 4, but AFAIK, they didn't fight alongside you, either. It would be great to have them fighting with you again. Hostile NPCs Covenant. I'd like most of the elites and grunts to be on your side this time, however. Flood. They are absolutely amazing enemies, add an eerie feel to the game, and fighting them is a lot of fun. Prometheans. Once again, they're epic enemies, and present a real challenge. Especially the Watchers. I'd love to see them return, and see how they deal with the Flood. Maybe a few Brute terrorists.

IK, and of course he doesn't look like a Promethean, which is why this thread is funny.

The Covenant in Halo 4 are rebels. Last time I checked the Arbiter and quite a few other elites (and presumably the grunts, hunters and jackals that remain allied with them) still want to remain at peace with humans. As for the appearence, I think the grunts are, visually, cuter than they were in Halo 3 and Reach, (although I'm kind of sad that those funny one-liners are gone). Their armor makes them look fat. As for their in-game capabilities, I've noticed that they seem to be a lot smarter now, probably because they aren't on the food nipple (which contains narcotics) anymore. The jackals look fine, although I miss the Skirmishers. In-game they're basically identical to Halo Reach. Also, has anyone else noticed that the grunts seem to outrank the jackals now? Just putting it out there. Hunters...are the same as they were in Reach, although the Lekgolo worms are more defined, which adds a touch of realism. As for elites, I think they look like frogs now, as opposed to reptiles which they're supposed to be. But they're still impressive and challenging in-game, especially the zealots.

XD But seriously, please don't attack the newcomers, even if we ask stupid questions.

Things that would make Forge better.
Seeker of Truth replied to SuperStuJack's topic in Forge Discussion
As the OP said, AI spawning and a connect tool would be nice. -
My personal favorite is JFO.
-
I agree, the Falcon encouraged teamwork. But in Halo 4 I do notice that whenever I'm in a Mantis I tend to get a little escort around me. Although, I'm not sure whether they're trying to support me or waiting for me to die/leave the mantis so that they can take it.
-
I hate that. You're carrying your team, and all your teammates are doing is getting themselves killed and trying to betray you for powerful vehicles.
-
I don't think so. She died in the best possible way, saving the Chief and Earth.
-
Do you aim for the head? A couple of headshots will take down an enemy's shield, leaving him/her vulnerable to a single killing shot. Also try pausing and re-adjusting between shots, it increases your accuracy.

Who is your favorite spartan from reach?
Seeker of Truth replied to lilsilmarillion's topic in Halo Reach
Yep, I'd have to say managing to drag your opponent down with you after having half your chest boiled away (which is what the energy sword does) is pretty impressive. Jorge is still my favorite character from Reach, though. Personally I didn't like him that much. He was cold and distant with all of the other Spartans. Well, most of them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed that he seems to have a thing for Kat. -
Halo 2 Anniversary Rumor Confirmed
Seeker of Truth replied to SykoWolf's topic in Halo 2 + Anniversary
I really hope that they do make a Halo 2 Anniversary. That would be awesome. IMO Halo 2 had one of the best Campaign modes yet. The matchmaking was a bit of a letdown, though. -
True, although they could always make a bigger map I mean, look at the size of the largest multiplayer maps in Halo 2 compared to the size of the largest multiplayer maps in Halo: Reach and Halo 4. Halo Reach's Forge World is probably 2-3 times bigger than Blood Gulch or Headlong.
-
I remember people complaining this way when Halo: Reach came out. "Go back to Halo 3," everyone was saying. And to be fair I really don't have a preference for one over the other. Reach and 4 both have their pros and cons. I like the darker, more solemn multiplayer maps of Halo 4, as opposed to the bright and cheery ones on Halo: Reach. They give the games a more intense atmosphere. However, I felt that the Halo Reach maps were more intricate, in-depth and sometimes more visually appealing. If you take a moment to look around maps like Meltdown, they're actually kind of drab and sometimes boring. However other maps, like Ravine, manage to have a solemn feel, while still being interesting enough in terms of graphics. Now, the weapons. I liked having the option of choosing from a heavy, medium, and light rapid-fire weapon in Halo 3 (Mounted machinegun, assault rifle, SMG) and Halo Reach (Plasma turret, plasma repeater, plasma rifle). However we don't get that in Halo 4. The SMG has been replaced with the SAW, which is a good weapon, but the only difference between it and the assault rifle, AFAIK, is clip size. Which makes you wonder: why would you want to use an AR when the SAW is basically the same thing with a larger clip? The plasma rifle is also gone, instead it seems that 343 threw the plasma rifle and the plasma repeater into a blender, creating the Storm Rifle. Once again, I have nothing against the SR, but why no good old-fashioned plasma rifles? However, I like the fact that your HP has been reduced for Halo 4, to about the same level it was in Halo 3. In Halo: Reach, it took forever to kill someone (you had to empty 2/3 of a DMR clip for one kill) unless you were using something fairly powerful. The starting weapons (DMR, AR and Magnum) were too weak, or your HP was too high, one or the other. And that was, once again, fine sometimes (it made it so that it wasn't down to who shot first), but other times it was annoying. Plus, I've found that the lower HP in Halo 4 encourages more teamwork. Vehicles. Halo 4's vehicles are pretty powerful, but trying to splatter someone with them is a total joke. I think splattering in Halo 3 was too easy, so they put in armor lock for Halo Reach, only making the problem worse. You could be literally crushing the other team with splatters, until some n00b ends your spree with the press of one button. Armor lock was a good idea, but I think they overpowered it. Now, armor lock is gone, but trying to splatter someone is next to impossible if they know you're coming. One way around the problem that I found is to just attack with the vehicles weapons, move slowly towards them and then surprise them with a burst of speed. I agree that it should take some amount of skill to splatter someone, but this is kind of over the top. Betrayals. There's nothing I can say about Halo Reach's betrayal system that hasn't already been said, so let me just whip it out there: WTF??? If a teammate runs up to me and fires a shotgun into my face to take my sniper rifle, that isn't their fault and they should get off totally scot free, but if I throw a plasma grenade into a gravity lift on Spire and it sticks my teammate after almost a minute, that is my fault and I should be booted. Yeah, that's perfectly fair. In Halo 4, there's no friendly fire at all. That's a coward's way out. Now, if there's a battle going on, you can just spam grenades without any regard to the presence of your teammates. I have been betrayed by players in vehicles, but I've never got the option to boot. So both games are stupid when it comes to the betrayal system. So, that's that, both have pros and cons.

Halo 4 Legendary Ending is an Insult Rather Than a Reward
Seeker of Truth replied to TunnelRat's topic in Halo 4
I was going to say that, but you worded your post so brilliantly that it puts anything I could say to shame...
