  1. I was really dissappointed by Halo 4. 1. Little comedy relief: Halo 4 was trying to be too serious. It lacks that charm of Halo games. There's little to no comedy anywhere. The only one I can think of is the Mantis thing and even that was easily missed. Cortanta was too busy dying to say anything witty and chief was too human to say his epic one liners. Johnson isn't around for awesome speeches and grunts don't speak english. Marines, where?! Too dark for a Halo game. 2. The music is gone: Marty was a massive loss to the series. There was barley any music that could be heared over that sweet sound railgun and when it could be heard it was just generic. Part of what makes Halo memorable is the music. They should just reuse the old games soundtracks. 3. That was it? No epic battles, no memorable battles(Also partly due to music). I remember in Halo 1 fighting flood and the covenant on the bridge in Two betrayals, Dropping in from a damaged covenant cruiser into a warzone in Keyes and landing for a beach assualt. Halo 2 had me boarding a scarab, punching a prophet to death and fighting in the midst of a covenant civil war. Halo 3 had me leading a tank charge against several Scarabs, Fighting with the flood against a greater threat and clearing a landing zone for a frigate. Halo 4 had me.....ummm......shooting covenant? 4. No AI vs AI. Halo 1: Flood vs covenant. Halo 2: Flood vs elites vs brutes vs forerunners. Halo 3: Elites vs brutes vs flood. Halo 4: Covenant and forerunners together?
  2. If they fix a lot of crap then yes. Halo wars was a terrible RTS game.
  3. Murphy was moving along the ships dorcel highway, engaging any targets of opputunity he saw along the way. He was making good progress considering he had to drive, stop, acquire targets, load the gun, aim and fire all by himself. Repeat for every single skrimish. "Auto loader is the next priority, screw the mini-fridge." He sighted covenant armour ahead, a welcome change from the infected freaks. Patching into the comm channel reserved for ODST's he made a request. "Anyone listening in to this, I need someone who can aim, lift heavy stuff and spot freaks to meet me at junction 221. First come gets to pick what they want to do."
  4. Name: United Colonial Republic. World of origin: Citadel V (Formerly Beta gamma 0045 V.) Primary Species: Humans Other member species and their roles: None Flag: White backround with a black shield and two swords crossed. Fleet sizes: 3 Carrier Battlegroups consiting of 1 Carrier, 3 Battle ships and 9 Destroyer escorts. Population: 3,230,900 Civilan, 2,502,500 Enlisted. Other information: During the covenant war, a large group of colonists saw the state the UNSC was in and feared the worst for humanity. Being led by a group of disgruntaled ODSTs, they set out to get as far away from the UNSC as possible, hoping to avoid extinction. This was 2 years after the war started. After 10 months of hardship, they found the planet they had been waiting for. A small garden world, perfect for habitaion and rich in mineral resources. These people were determined to resist the covenant at any cost and the entire system was based around the military. A number of measures were taken to increase the population quickly An exterme example of Quality vs Quantity, there ground forces are better equppied, trained and motivatied then nearly anything currently known. They fight using guerilla tactics and almost every citizen owns and is trained in the use of weapons. Their one weakness however is their fleet which is underdevolped whose training is only based on theroy. To compensate for this, the planet is protected by several massive anti-orbital guns and many smaller ones, requiring an opposing force to establish ground control before gaining space control, which is exactly what the U.C.R wants. A Terraforming effort is underway on Citadel VI and a mining operation is being conducted on the asteriod belt surrounding the solar system. After years of silence, long range probes are pinging.. They're now waiting for someone to make the first move, be it agression or peace. Military Hardware and programs:
  5. "Hazard that you? I could use some extra anti-freak support, plenty to go around. I'm in bay 43-D, major infestation here." Murphy started the engine of the tank and it came to life with a tremendous roar. "Bee hives loaded, let's do this thing." A mean volley of bullets came from the tank, the bee hive canister ripped through scores of the infection. He awoke the hornets nest and almost endless waves of them came charging towards the tank, with no regards for their personal safety. It wasn't long before he could hear them clawing at the outside. "Hope you like the rain fellas!" He activated the tank's Proximity defense system, which sent burning muntions raining down upon the tank. "If you do decide to come along, please feel free to hose the girl down with the flamethrower."
  6. I've been giving this some thought after playing MGS3. If we go by whatever equipment avaible, Snake has stealth camo and access to the AK-47(Is the M63 5.56 or 7.62?) . UNSC weapons fire 7.62mm AP rounds, which is the same caliber as the AK. Chief would have to close the distance to Snake. It all depends on range fought and how fast chief can close the distance. Snake has no chance at winning in CQC. Snake has a chance at winning, but it's very situational.
  7. "Damn AIs" He whispered to himself. "Anton, that's all well and good, but how about some bodys to use them? Live ones, marines."
  8. It was during all this commotion that Murphy slipped away from the main battle. He had made his way to the vehicle bay where he saw a large flood presence. It was no easy task sneaking around when you're a half-ton metal walking tank, but it was successful. He climbed in his Emperor and started the engine. "NBC check, ammo check, hull strentgh check, sensors check, power supply check......oh right." He only then rememberd he was the only one in the tank. He scanned the area to determine the enemy strentgh. "Alright, time to hull-down. Anton, if you read me, I need some extra guns in the vehicle bay. Big ones if you can."
  9. So does this play like an TBS or what? I'm not sure how one roleplays a fleet.
  10. "Heh, you hear that boys and girls? Bossman's bringing out the fun toys!" Murphy had been following Hazard since the armoury, although having little interaction with them. It was Spartan procedeure after all, a relic from the S-II phase. He only watched when Ty's wound was shown, nothing he could do about it. He looked towards the acting squad leader and loaded his weapon with devastating FRAG rounds he saved for special occassions. "Let's get this party started!"
  11. Murphy stalked his way along the corridors, evading patrols while he pressed forward. The covies still had control of much of the ship, the battle could go on for days. He made his way to .....somewhere, there was signs of fighting there. He huddled the wall and listened in the open door. Now he recalled where he was, the armoury. "Crap, covies still hold the damn thing." He thought quietly. He moved closer to the door and readied his weapon. He could make out voices. "Freeze you scaly ********!"
  12. "Deathstrike" Murphy, Infinity, en route to S-deck. While other teams were busy with the critical systems, Murphy was making his way to the S-deck. He wanted to make sure the covies had not accessed secure material. "Knock knock, I'm comin' home!" However, he soon found he was obstructed by a heavy door, used in case of enemy boarding teams. It was ironic to say the least. Murphy began to pry the door until he heard an Elite bark orders. He had created enough of a gap to peek through. 12 elites and many more jackels and grunts, all waiting to slaughter whoever walked through the door. Murphy thought about his next course of action and remembered what "shopping" he had done in the ships armoury. He began to set up, all the while trying to create the illusion of a marine squad. "It's jammed sir, orders? We'll need to get it open, get your back into it troopers!" He kept it up until he was ready. "Alright boys, pull it open." The blast tore through the door and whoever was unlucky enough to be standing on the other side. "A litte C4 knocking at your door." He made sure to finish off all the wounded elites and quickly searched for any others. None alive. He proceded to a covenant terminal that was connected to one of the decks main computers. He quickly downloaded what he could and ran towards the bridge. "Anton, I need you and the admiral NOW! Please tell me you're on the bridge!"
  13. ((Bacon, Mantises can't drop pelicans, lol.))
  14. "Ty, let's finish what we started. I intend to borrow a HMG turret, care to come with me? Don't worry, I'll leave some for ya!"
  15. "Hear that? Shows about to start. Just stand up and shout before you go making any rash decisions."
  16. "Heh, look what the cat dragged in! Where you coming from then?" He re-checked his gear and ammo supply. He was down to a single drum of ammo for his SAW. He holstered it and drew his knife and pistol, wielding them together. He was low on grenades too. "Toss me a frag if you can spare it. Don't suppose the LZ is filled with bullets?"
  17. Murphy made his way to bauer's and Hazard's poistion. "Looks like I missed all the fun, How's he doin'?" He looked at Bauer's wounds and then towards Hazard. "I see a babysitting bonus in your future son!"
  18. Murphy couldn't help himself in battle, slaughtering grunts and jackels was too much fun. "Ahahaha!" He gunned down more grunts who were cowering. "Keep a day job buddy!" He engaged several more forces until he came upon two brutes, the last hostiles he could see. It was a longer fight he anticpated which ended in hand to hand combat. He drew his knife from the bigger ones skull and cleaned his blood off his wrist plate. "Good night ladies!" He then listened for anymore sounds of terror and several radio reports came in. "What's everyones status, over?"
  19. Murphy found a group of ODSTs that were supposdly heading for the admiral. "Listen, don't ask any questions. I'm part of your squad for now. Besides, you all look like you could use someone to hide behind."
  20. "Oh this should be fun! I still have no idea what the hell I'm supposed to do! Screw it, I'll find some random squad and follow them."
  21. Murphy woke up at the sound of the announcement. "mmmm.....wha........Oh fine. They better have coffe in sector for. I mean four. Shut up marines."
  22. "This battle is going to be fought on the ground as well. If Anton can program it into the war games, then let the troops get expierence with it. I was planning on taking this thing for a field test tomorrow." He sat down on a nearby ammo crate and leaned back. "You should come with us, it'll be fun. Nothing to start your day like watching covies vaporise. I just need some rest before tomorrow, I can't remember the last time I slept." He leaned further back into the crates and began to mumble something. It was soon obvious he had fallen asleep.
  23. "Nice speech, keep up the morale. I've been thinking, since they're based on Scorpions, why not call them Emperors? Seems fitting. Also sir, you havn't given me an answer."
  24. "It's no rumor anymore Admiral, everyone knows we're prepping for something. While I was out in the field, I came across large armour colums. Wraiths, Scarabs, Spectres even Super scarabs. The covies are prepping too and we're not ready." He looked across at the mechanics who were working on something bigger then a Scorpion. "Look, Warthogs can easily out-class their couterparts, but the Scorpion is out matched against the other heavys. So I present to you this." He guided the Admiral toward the tank and gestured him to inspect it. "130mm cannon, 3 7.62mm Machine guns, dual rail cannons mounted on the turrets side, 20cm of Heavy grade-A Titanium sloped abd thermal resistant ,2 3000HP engines, Extra wide treads and even some cup holders. But this is just one machine. We need lots." Murphy now stared directly into the Admiral's eyes. "Sir, I need access to every resource this base has to make enough of these things in time. It will mean losing all of our scopions, but trust me, These machines can take on scarabs and I'll be damned sure even a super scarab will think twice about taking one on."
