Only E3 will tell what's to come for Halo. Well not only E3, but around that time is when Microsoft and a bunch of game companies reveal their confirmed future plans for games.

Same game mechanics, just updated graphics. I could honestly live without the button glitches like double shots, quadshots, BXR, etc. But if they make it it's own game with it's own separate multiplayer, it'd be cool to have a slightly improved version of Halo 4's forge in there.

Hmm I've never played Starcraft, I'll have to look in to it. Perhaps it will make me change my idea.

I was thinking about this the other day, and I think that for the next Halo Game, the competitive aspect of the multiplayer will and should try to compete with Call of Duties League Play (If COD decides to make this a permanent feature). I feel as though the "good ole" 1-50 skill ranking system isn't going to make this triumphant come back like people hope, and I think that 343 feels as though the system is inferior or something like that. I think if Halo had their own version of league play, it could be kinda cool and fun. I just hope they don't screw it up like Bungie did with the arena in Halo Reach. I think the main problem of Halo Reach's Arena was that your skill rank reset after every season, or whatever. I think if 343 were to do another league play/arena type deal, they would need to incorporate some sort of permanent skill ranking system in to it. As well as many other features like team rating and such. It could go over really well if it was done right, you could even incorporate some playlists like an MLG type of playlist (and yes I know MLG dropped Halo but you get the point). Personally, it doesn't bother me when games don't have a skill ranking system, but I know it bothers a lot of other people, especially a lot of Halo fans.

I agree, they buy it probably because they can't do it themselves, I assume?

Yeah de-rankers became pretty big annoyance, I'm pretty sure alot of people use mnodded controllers in Halo 4 now

I don't really think the game's ranking system is what caused this, but it did really make me mad. But I've never seen anyone boost their K/D in Halo 4? I'm not saying it doesn't happen but I don't think it's a prevalent as de-rankers, and boosters/ account salesmen was in Halo 3. If you think about it though K/D boosting is just for looks too.

Im so glad armor lock was basically replaced with hardlight shield, I hope to never see it in any Halo games again.

I love how people are complaining about this whole Competetive Skill Rank thing, at least 343 is giving you some sort of skill rank. It's better than nothing IMO.

Oh, how could I forget the de-rankers, I actually played Halo 3 the other day and ran in to a few of em. I couldn't agree more.

You people are so ignorant on the subject matter (excluding the first two gentlemen I discussed this with), that I'm not even going to dignify you with a proper rebuttal, and believe me there is still so much I could say about the topic at hand. So before I start my spiel, I just want to say that I loved Halo 3 and it is still my favorite 360 game to date. There is one thing I hated about Halo 3 though, and it didn't have to do so much with the game, it had to do more with some of the players. It used to urrk me when I would see these skilled Halo 3 players who would sell Level 50 accounts to people, for Microsoft point, subscription cards, paypal payments, whatever. It used to bother me because one, the people buying these accounts were usually players who were level 20-40 tops, so it was usually pretty obvious they bought an account or cheated. Secondly, these "salesmen" usually weren't selling there main accounts, they would usually make a new account just for the sole purpose of getting it to a 50 (usually in doubles) and selling it. I never said you should play the game a certain way? I simply said that people who only play the games for the true skill and MLG playlist are playing for all the wrong reasons, basically. For instance, I enjoyed Halo 2, and Halo 3 but not because they had true skill ranking systems or MLG playlists, those features just became sort of added bonuses for me. I played the game because I enjoyed the experience as opposed to other FPS on the market at the time. Now Halo Reach on the other hand I hated not because it didn't have true skill or MLG playlist right away or anything like that, but because I just didn't enjoy certain aspects of the multiplayer. Now we have Halo 4 on our hands, and I like it alot. I do think it could use some added features, but I think the game is overall a good game and I continue to play it because I like the multiplayer.

But we're already talking my friend, plus I shouldn't have to quote you insinuating something especially when it's on this page. Oh, and that's Mr. Mays to you.

Who am I? Who are you to try to tell people that a competitive playlist and ranking structure need to be added to the game for it to succeed? Why should you need a rank to want to improve your gameplay? Theres been tons of games that I've played where they didn't have a true skill ranking system (some of them didn't even have a ranking system at all) and I wanted to improve my gameplay? You should play games because you enjoy them, games don't need these modified playlists to be competitive. If a number that is virtually worthless next to your name makes or breaks the game for you, I'm sorry that's simply pathetic. Lastly,If you want MLG so bad then a get a team together and do gamebattles or something similar, it's not very hard you don't even have to actually compete in anything you can just go around and scrim and it's still competitive, and you still playing these modified game types and maps you desire so much. THIS IS FOR ALL OF YOU: I'm not hating on MLG or the whole true skill ranking system, i rather enjoyed fighting my way up to my 45 in doubles in Halo 3, and I thought the MLG playlist was awesome when I wanted to try and feel like a Halo pro or something (I was such a low level in MLG that I always played the worst people haha). I'm just saying that there are many other issues and Halo 4 doesn't really need these things, but I wouldn't mind seeing them around. You should enjoy the game for the actual gameplay not these modified ones or a worthless number next to your gamertag. Perhaps you charming gentlemen should take your argument to the Waypoint forums, where 343 industries might actually read it

Personally I like Spartan II's.I feel like the Spartan IV's have no respect to previous Spartans though, I mean look at the way some of them treated Chief.
