Sounds like a very save evacuation point. BTW, how is a plane supposed to land on it if it's tilted like 30 degrees? By the way, I thought online knights was dead. Are they still doing map features? Can I apply for one?
-
Wow. second largest map I've ever seen outside of Forge Island (Second to Tank Superiority by me). Do you get issues with framerate lag w large parties?
-
Nice map. But I doubt anyone would spend all of those resources to build a drilling facility just to test for oil. You'd want to confirm its presence before you build such an enormous, expensive structure

Halo 4 Noble E 2552 presents "Foliage"
ShockBolt21 replied to Creative Gaming Inc.'s topic in Flood/Infection Maps
NAICCEEEE!!!!!! It would be awesome if you made a floating pelican inside of which the humans initially spawn. And we will, by the way, explore the entire finite highway. -
Imagine you are on a ship in the middle of the ocean, and the tides around the boat are ferociously wild. Would you jump into those tides, or stay on the boat (which, as you can see, is perfectly fine)? But I guess that's irrelevant. And the boat still looks nice even with the flat walls. But I did download it and I played 3v3 capture the flag on it today, and I'm glad I did. Nothing wrong with it as far as I can tell, and it was quite fun, so I'll give it five stars on halo customs.

Tested and updated- version 1.1 now available (http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/27846-battleship/)

Map Download Link Gametype Download Link See This Map on Youtube This map is oriented around the UNSC Ghost Ship, one of the last water-based ships in service under the UNSC before they retire their watercraft in favor of the more versatile and capable spacecraft. The map has been tested with lobbies of all sizes and has been tweaked and perfected over time. The Ghost Ship fires its main cannon at the attacking flood. The humans will spawn inside the ship, below deck. They will begin the round by grabbing a few weapons from the stockpile below deck in an area directly next to where the spartans spawn. Weapons up for grabs there include basic guns like the standard issue automatics and pistols, but also provide some heavier stuff- a saw and a concussion rifle. The weapons room, which is only a portion of the below deck area, is shown below. After arming themselves, the spartans will then proceed through the chambers to a staircase, where they will rise through an opening in the deck. On the deck, there are several mounted turrets- two machine guns, two plasma turrets, and a high explosive frontally mounted 120mm cannon. The humans will occupy the turrets and prepare to repel the incoming flood, which will be attacking from the starboard side. Starting from spawn, the humans will have about thirty-five seconds to complete these preparations before the flood start attacking. View from behind the vessel. Visible are the two plasma turrets, the main battery, and one of the mounted machine guns. Not the ship's prettiest angle, but it's the only shot I have that shows the Flood spawn area (to the ship's right). The latest version of the map contains a second flood attack vector at the ship's 11 and 12 o clock (by the stalagmites and further left). The flood will attack from a separate area within the cave. They will be marked by wayponts until they reach the ship so the humans will know where they are attacking from. They will run through one of three man cannons, which will launch them through a low gravity zone towards the ship. The flood can maneuver left, right, forward, and backward to avoid incoming projectiles and make themselves harder to hit. The minimum time it takes for the flood to reach the ship after launch is about thirteen seconds, giving the humans time to shoot them down on their way with one of the turrets or a handheld weapon. The ship's crew utilize a variety of weapons to hold off the incoming flood. The flood damage resistance is 200 percent (normally on flood it's 50 percent), so while it isn't unreasonably powerful, it is still much harder to kill than the traditional flood. This is to discourage players from camping below deck or in one of the buildings, and instead attempt to shoot them down before they reach the ship, and preferably utilize teamwork like an actual ship crew would. Spartans who hide below deck aren't likely to last long, as they will not be able to do enough damage to kill the flood before they get lunged at. But in the event the flood do reach the ship, it is up to those still on foot to use their weapons to take out the flood before they can infect too many humans. There are also several buildings on the ship, as well as the area below deck, to spice up the onboard combat. (Do remember, though, that the flood can destroy the main turret with one slash, so you're not 100% safe inside it.) All of this combat unfolds within the six minute time limit per round. The crew has suffered heavy losses after the flood have bypassed their defenses several times. The last few spartans must abandon their battle stations and try to avoid slaughter after the ship has been overwhelmed by the flood. This map, Battleship, is best played with at least seven players, with the optimal number being around twelve. Because most of the trait zones failed, I was forced to add a separate gametype, "Battleship," to tweak the health, damage, and other traits as necessary, so make sure to download that along with the map. You can download both the map and the game type on my File Share here. Map Download Link Gametype Download Link Youtube Footage Halo 4 © Microsoft Corporation. Why would they abandon the ship in high tides? Do they think that they'd have a better chance if they jumped into the raging waters and swam through it? Besides, any decent ship should be able sail through the tides, as it's no longer the 1600s. Anyway, looks like a nice map. Everything inside the ship was beautifully forged- I'll definitely download it. I was amazed by how well you made the insides and all of the details, but I recommend using curved walls for the sides of the ship, as I have done here. Makes it look much more like a boat.

A'ight, you can move it to minigames if yo think that's where it belongs. I never forge maps that use the traditional halo style combat. My forge maps always resemble actual, more realistic combat in some way. If this is a minigame, do you think that battleship should be also? (Battleship- 3/31- (http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/27846-battleship/))

Yes, it sounds a bit too familiar, as I have also uploaded a map called Tank Superiority, having derived the name from battlefield 3 just as you have. (http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/27746-tank-superiority/) My version is better! Haven't looked at yours yet, but I will. it would be so much easier though if you uploaded some images, so i can at least see what the map looks like.

Well, it doesn't use its own gametype- it plays on Infinity Slayer. So i think it's technically a competitive map, just laid out very differently. But you're right in that it plays more like a minigame. Not sure if I can call it a 'mini' game because this map is larger than any other (until the forge island maps came out) but I guess that's irrelevant. And on a side note, I disagree with that signature of yours. i think that humans will eventually conquer nature. We already made significant progress. And it's not infinite- it's quite limited (you could say that the universe is, but we'll eventually fully/almost fully explore that also). But soon, nature will have no control over our lives, and things like climate, weather, other life forms (plants, animals, etc.) and even sunlight levels will be completely controlled by humans. And our minds are not limited or linear. we are probably the first life forms this intelligent/capable to ever exist in this universe, and we will expand our population to occupy other planets throughout the galaxy, and maybe, eventually, beyond. Also, we'll soon be able to make ourselves immortal. And, by the way, mathematically speaking, you can't explore a fraction of the highway if it is infinite. Any amount of the highway we do manage to cover (x) could be written as x over infinity, which will always equal 0/1, or zero. (Unless x=infinity, in which case the fraction would be 1/1, or one. So either we cover 100% of the highway or 0% of it.) So you really can't explore a fraction of infinity.

First, a link to my File Share, where you can download this map. View the sequel here! (Scorpion Dominance) As you may know, the only thing that can stand up to a group of scorpions in halo is another group of scorpions. And then they fight a ferocious battle. This map provides you with the perfect battleground to fight that tank battle, and all the room you'll need for it. The battlefield occupies both asteroids on Impact, as well as a large open plain built in the space between them. The battlefield, with the red base shown closest, the jail in the middle, and the blue base slightly visible behind the embedded structure. The map is larger than it looks. When the round begins, both teams will spawn in their bases, built on opposite sides of the map. Each base contains four scorpions and eight scorpion vehicle pads. When they exit, the first phase of the battle will begin as they fire at each other from across the map. The distance is too far to aim accurately, so only a few scorpions, if any, will be destroyed here. The tank groups will then close in to finish each other off. The battle. The tanks are engaging each other from across the map as they slowly move forth. The camera is zoomed, making the distance appear much shorter than it really is. There are several team strategies and personal tactics that can be used. The map is enormous, so the scorpions can choose to separate and spread out along its width. Or, you can have a few tanks move forward and attack, and a few stay farther back and provide support from a distance. You can also split into a few small groups and cover different flanks, or just stick in one big mass. Tanks from the red side mobilize onto the battlefield. The map is meant to play scorpions only, so don't try to fight on foot. There are teleporters outside of every base exit, so if you try to leave without a vehicle, you will be teleported back in. Also, a second set of teleporters covers the rest of the battlefield, so if you step out of the scorpion, you will be sent to the jail, which is located in the center of the battlefield. You will serve a ten second sentence as you wait to be killed by the soft kill boundary, then wait a few additional seconds from the suicide penalty before spawning back in your base. This system not only keeps the battle as tanks-only, but also prevents the bases from running out of tanks, as they won't be left out on the battlefield. Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? These spartans must taste life behind bars for bailing their tank like little wimps. The map plays best with at least eight players, but the more you add, the more fun the gameplay is. The game plays on infinity slayer, so there is no need to download a separate game type. I will optimize the map to play capture the flag and king of the hill, but until then, make sure to change the settings before the game so that there are two lives per spartan, five minute time limits per round, and five or so rounds. Also, the game has been thoroughly tested and fixed, so I can confidently say that it has been, essentially, perfected, and everything works as it should. And also, make sure to check out the map "Battleship" for some naval combat against the flood. . .

A spartan defends himself against the flood after it bypassed the turret fire and reached the ship. A couple minutes of 5v5 gameplay on this map was uploaded by Sinotsuj and can be viewed here (From 3:02 to 5:14 in the video). Unlike the images in the map post, the gameplay is shown on the latest version of the map- V 2.6. You also get to see a portion of the defender's base interior here. Don't be deceived by the low quality of the video.

Still no feedback. (http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/24890-armored-strike/)

I hope nobody says cortana.

Arent you trying to take out elite terrorists in spartan ops? If so, those might be your elite enemies.

I've added some higher quality images and a link to the map on my file share (http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/shockbolt21/halo4/fileshare#!/?section=GameMap&SearchDate=7&SortBy=2&view-select=Tile&startIndex=0). Please me know what you think- I haven't received any feedback yet.

According to Moore's law, after eight years of improvement, the computers in the next xbox should be 16 times more powerful than the xbox 360. So there is no way they can release halo 5 on both and actually call it the same game. I expect another two year intermission (it better be at least that much) until the fifth, so it should come out way after the release of the next xbox.

I think the special effects should be capable of only influencing a certain customizable area

The arbiter would be fun to have. But I do not want to see the flood again, and I certainly do not want cortana back
