I was thinking of this yesterday, and I think it would be a great idea if Halo was remade. Using the same levels from the Halo we all know with extra levels filling some gaps that were not addressed. I am also thinking that the whole Trilogy be infused with stories from different parts of the Halo universe, several levels where you play a Marine and several playing an ODST, after all Halo is not just about the Spartans. I would like to see more from the Arbiter, a level where he is on the Halo destroyed by the explosion from The Pillar of Autumn, where he is hunting the Master Chief. Some people may not like this at all, but playing the Arbiter killing Humans. I would like to see some of the stuff from the book, put in to the game, Major Silva and his ODST's, taking of the hill and their creation of there base, the part where they organise a raid on the crash Pillar for supplies and even the raid by the Elites on that same base. More missions from ODST and Marine squads. One thing I really want to see is a new game about ODST's, but unlike the Halo 3 ODST game, this one will be based on missions and not a story. From Harvest to Earth, play as a ODST squad member and even make it MM as a squad based game, or single player or both. And bring back Firefight, proper Firefight. I would like to see a Halo game where it is 90% based on space combat, Sabre Squad or some thing like that. Maybe even Halo's version of Star Trek Online. You captain a Starship and play different roles from a Fleet commander to ground assaults where yo command an army. Sort of like a Warhammer game. There are endless possibilities in the Halo universe, it just take some one with an active imagination to create some thing great and unique. 343 must not do this, I think they have no idea what Halo is any more.

Anyone disappointed In Armor RESKINS
Richard John Wilson replied to ESPADAS03's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
I would like to see the ODST Armour. And not 343s version of what they call ODST. As it was in Halo Reach, Halo 3, Halo 2 and Halo. "Real" ODST Armour. And, I want my Fotus Armour in Halo 6 and an Assassination sequence where you use the Horn/Blade on the Helmet to kill an enemy. -
No news is good news some one once said to me. However you gone sort of mental with 343s amazing ability to make crap Halo games, and you really lost the plot. I have in the past exaggerated things, but never made up such crap as this. I do not even understand half of it, or all of it really. There has been nothing mentioned about Halo 6, and you have already gone for Armageddon. Nice !!! I will tell you what I would like to see in Halo 6, the return of Firefight. Not Warzone Firefight, but Firefight. I would also like to see better customisation of the loadouts and less Armour Abilities, maybe stick with what Halo 5 has done, but no more Req's, these are just stupid, or it is Microsofts way of making more and more money out of fans. Instead of the Armageddon you are sprouting, maybe you should consider what you would like to see in Halo 6. It is so much more constructive than what you posted.

Do you Trust 343i with HW2 and H6
Richard John Wilson replied to ESPADAS03's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Drizzy_Dan, nice reply to my posting. But I disagree with you on the reimagining on the game, as I honestly believe 343 are reimagining Halo in their own image. You said yourself, and I quote "They are trying to build on what they were left with", what they were left with is not what 343 made. Anyone can tell the difference between Halo 3 and Halo 4, or in this case Halo Reach to Halo 4. Completely different game mechanics, yeah, I know, Halo 4 was a complete frack up, 343 completely over did it with their reimagining. Another thing about Halo 4 and even in to Halo 5 was the CoD aspect of the switches, I had expected 343 to have removed that part of the game, it is un-needed and completely un-necessary. Stabilise, I was referring to the loadout for Flinch, I am sure it is called Stabilise. Firefight Vs Warzone Firefight, yes, I see your point now. There is a difference between them both. Warzone Firefight is not a reimagining of Firefight, it is a shortcut to Firefight, like the fans asked for, and instead 343 created Warzone Firefight. Whilst I would prefer Firefight, I am enjoying Warzone Firefight. Halo Wars 2, I am thinking that 343 are reimagining this game, for several reasons, mainly because it now plays like a Command and Conquer game and not Halo Wars, the name maybe there and the troops and the vehicles, but it does not play like Halo Wars. Like Halo 4 and Halo 5, Halo Wars is just Halo in name. This will not stop me from playing them though, all this means to me is that the good name of Halo is being disrespected, even if these games are worth playing time and time again (maybe not Halo 4). If these games had been named some thing else, or had the Halo name added to the titles made by 343, I would not be commenting or complaining. It is like comparing Destiny to The Taken King, they might be the same game, but they are in fact two different games. Like comparing Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3 to Halo 4 and Halo 5, the trilogies are worlds apart. -
Do you Trust 343i with HW2 and H6
Richard John Wilson replied to ESPADAS03's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
I find it hard to take 343 serious, but I have still been buying the Halo games, for what reason I am completely unsure. 343 have reimagined Halo in to their own image, and I do not like it much at all. Spartan Ops lost its playability far too easily, not bringing back Firefight was a huge mistake, and the Loadouts on Halo 4 Multiplayer has to be the worst thing I have ever seen on games and gaming, it seemed to me that 343 had no idea what a Spartan was and how they work. Take for instance Wheelman, I can not for the life of me understand how a Spartan getting in to a Vehicle makes it stronger and better, Wheelman had not right or reason to be in the game. Stability, you get shot and you are staring at the sky or shooting the birds, again another reason that 343 had no idea what a Spartan is. Halo 5 brought is back Firefight, only it is not Firefight, again with the reimagining of Halo, 343 are turning in to a right disaster for Halo. I beg the question, do they have any idea what Halo is. Not Spartan Ops this time, so they never finished the story from Halo 4. More disaster. Yes, I know, SpOps lost its playability far too easily, but they could have finished the story. And then we come to Halo 5 gameplay as it is, what were they thinking, did they learn nothing from Halo 4, again with the CoD FMV switches are dangerous, activate one and you risk death, if you fail to clear the area, and activate a switch you may be rewarded with death when a cheeky enemy shoots you in the back. Prometheans are possibly the worst enemy I have come across, they almost equal the Taken in Destiny, both fracking annoying and cowardly. The closer you get to killing them, the more of a chance they will teleport or run away and charge you, truly disgusting, makes me wish for the Covenant and the Flood, and I hated the Flood. MCC, whilst I have completed it all, I did not have the patience nor the inclination to do the Achievements, there are far too many of them, and at the end of the day, just not worth the time and effort. Nice to see ODST, but, I would have preferred 343 to have remastered the whole thing and making Multiplayer Matchmaking. I have seen and played the Beta for Halo Wars 2, and I am unimpressed, I still play Halo Wars and the only problems I have with Halo Wars are the Base Turrets, they are freaking useless, Leader Powers are unfair Vs Disruption Bomb, so stupid the cool down on that Vs Leader Powers. Aircraft do not fly over Bases, they have to go round, this is pure stupidity. And as for Halo Wars 2, yeah totally loving the graphics, how smooth it plays. But... I hate the way the base is set out, so much prefer the original idea. Love the Turrets, seems as though 343 understood the idea of Base Turrets, which seems a shock to me, because I was so sure 343 had no idea what Halo is and what it is, especially Spartans. I will buy Halo Wars 2, and I will cuss and moan the changes. But I will play it and do my best to get used to the whole change and mess 343 have made. In the long run 343 are a disaster regarding Halo, they have reimagined the game in their own image, which in a sense is understandable, but for a True Halo Fan, it is a change too far. I have little faith in 343, and I doubt I ever will. Unless they understand what Halo is, they will keep reimaging the game to their needs and wants, and not the fans. Firefight is not Firefight, but I have to admit, I am enjoying it, apart from the fact it seems far too hard, unfair in some cases. The Req System seems to not work, for me at least. -
Question i don't know who to ask
Richard John Wilson replied to Lord of the Stars's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Not sure what the last two are, but I can guess they could be Yes and No. However the rest are the Alphabet. I would be surprised if they mean any thing at all. Seems like some thing some one wrote out of boredom. Or failing that, they copied Crop Circles. Well, some of them. -
This game is the lowest selling game from the entire series of Halo, 400 million at launch, I wonder how that truly effects the status as I just noted above. I do think that say, Halo Reach made so much more that this 400 million, maybe four times as much if not more. In comparison it is bleak comparing it to other Halo games. Arena, Warzone and the Campaign is enough for you is it. To me it is lacking, almost like Spartan Ops was. Warzone is not the great game 343 were expecting it to be, I for one am disappointed with it. it is far too big, you spend more time running to find the enemy than you do in engaging, it sort of reminds me of Team Doubles on a Big Team Battle Map. In fact when I first played it, it reminded me of a game I once played on Sidewinder, just me and a friend. Campaign wise, I got to ask, do you find it replayable over and over again. I have already completed Halo 5 on Legendary and on Normal for the fun of it, it is not quite as fun as replaying Halo Reach or even Halo CE. Halo 5 like Halo 4 is missing Firefight, to me, it is the only thing that can save it, otherwise I am more than happy to lay it to one side and go back to Destiny. Even Elder Scrolls Online is more exciting than Halo 5

Resolving chatter yet?
Richard John Wilson replied to FutureMrsMasterChief's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
I love my Mute button. Useless chatter, kids screaming, music blaring in the background and peoples television too loud so you hear the echo of the game you are paying make me go for the Mute button. Try it some time, you will learn to love it too. Most of the time people have the microphone on for no apparent reason what so ever, this I find rude. A Jedi uses the Force, I use the Mute button, both are equally powerful. (Did I rattle on too much there ???) -
Microsoft are just after the rewards and expecting fans to buy the games just because it is Halo. It is not a case of Microsoft giving up, it is a case of the game developers remembering what Halo is. There are countless stories out there, and potential for great games in the Halo series. I wrote a post about Halo ODST, maybe it is time for a break for Halo, until some one comes up with an idea that is Halo, and start some thing different with in the Halo Universe. My idea is a great start. But, there are other options, such as, we have not had a Space Combat game yet, Sabre Squads Vs Sabre Squads or Covenant Vs UNSC Starship Battles. Just thoughts. Halo is not done yet, it is just the game developers that are done.

Stepping Down from Site Moderator
Richard John Wilson replied to Absolute Dog's topic in Announcements
Some people are never forgotten, and you have to be one of them. I remember the message you sent me once, and it has forever stayed with me. Wisdom, friendship and a peacemaker to boot, you Sir are a hero to the Community. Take care, and good luck to your future, where ever you end up. -
What Halo 5 lacked was Firefight, immersion and a story line that is Halo. Since 343 took over, they have done there best to turn it in to a Spaced Call of Duty, although I have to admit Halo 5 is showing less of CoD, gone are the loadouts, but instead we have that dreadful Req Sys. I do not like Warzone, it is like nothing we have never seen before, but it is so big, it is just ridiculous, and I do not know about other people I am getting killed by Marines as I have no idea who is and who is not the enemy. Warzone would be a lot better if it was some what smaller. It reminds me of Team Doubles on a Big Team Battle Map. 343 have done a terrible job on Halo, it is like they forgot what Halo is. Spartan Ops lost its playability too quickly, and Firefight was forgotten. Big mistake. As a Halo Fan, Halo started to go wrong with the lack of Multiplayer in Halo 3 ODST, and it was not helped by the Community Maps on Halo Reach, in fact I stopped playing Halo Reach because of almost every game being on a Community Map. I paid for the DLC's and instead constant Community Maps, not what I wanted at all. The original Firefight was the best but its lack of an end almost ruined it completely. 343 are bad for Halo, Bungie seemed to have gotten bored making Halo, and when they parted ways, those same bored Halo makers went over to 343. I will get the next Halo game, but only because to end the Trilogy, but as a fan, I am deeply disappointed. If the story line is not improved, and Firefight is not returned, Halo is done for me. The Halo from the past will remain there, but is will be forever remembered as the best Halo games in existence. And 343 will be known for killing off Halo. In my personal opinion, of course.

343 have almost killed Halo, if not killed Halo. So I think I am done with Halo, unless they bring back the Halo we all loved and with it Firefight. Anyway, my post and my idea. I liked Halo 3 ODST, the story whilst broken was a good one, I loved the stealth em up type of game play, you chose to engage or avoid at times and the moody music. At times I miss that game and would love to see an Xbox One version. It took for ages for Halo Wars to come, and I wonder if ODST would be the same. Yes I know, there are none any more, but that is why my idea is call Chronicles. I propose a game that is focused on missions instead of one huge continuous mission with 10 to 15 levels, so instead we have 10 to 15 missions that are different. Starting with a mission on Harvest and working the way through to Earth, and yes a mission on Reach too. Each mission will have several chapters and unlike most games the boss is not always at the end, I would like to see a boss in the middle of a mission once in while, as well as the enevitable boss fight at the end, maybe even two boss fights in a mission. The weaponry will be the usual standard Halo weaponry with drops in some missions and caches in others for heavy weapons and stuff. It will be a squad of four and you can play one player or four, if you play single player you get to issue orders to your squad either all at once or one at a time (like Desert Storm on the Xbox), if you play with a friend, you control one each, effectively having two teams, so you can work together two by two or split up. If a player or yourself is hit badly, you go down, say a threshold of 90%, you will need to be helped by another player to get back in to the game. If you die, you will respawn in a safe place, or not. Before each mission start you get a loadout option to choose weapons for each character, and you will have a Rifleman, Sniper, Heavy Weapons and a Medic Class to choose loadouts for. Each character has a different type of weapons loadout, but, you can change weapon out in the field, or even swap them between characters. I would like to see a Tutorial before you get in to the Missions, because any Halo Fan knows Harvest was a hell hole, and I would not expect it to be any different in the game. So instead, I would like a Boot Camp, or Training Grounds where you get to learn how to play working your squad and each and every character. This is a Covenant fight, there will be no Flood or even Forerunner, even if they exist in the timeline. This game would be a straight up Human/Covenant fight. The ODST will be just like the ODST in Halo 3 ODST, using Stamina instead of a Shield. As usual you can pick up Covenant weapons and Tech, and what I mean by Tech, I am talking about the Jackal Shields (which you would use with a one handed weapon) and the Tech available at the time, such as Invisibility and Bubble Shield any thing within reason. Remembering you are playing a Human. And Firefight will return. DLC's will be extra missions and extra maps. All ODST's will be fully customisable, in Armour, Weapons and Colours. Emblems too Anyway, this is my idea, and I have no idea where this should actually go, or even forwarded to the proper people. So, I post it here. Love to hear any thoughts and ideas.

343 killed Halo, that much is certain. They tried too hard to compete with Call of Duty and other games in the same genre, and they failed badly. They did not learn from the mistakes from Halo 4, and look what they did to Firefight, err, there is none. Probably would have saved Halo, probably. Warzone is far too big, and at time confusing (for me at least), many a time I have gone in tot hat game and got lost, and in some instances had no clue who I was supposed to be fighting. Got killed by marines, when I thought they were on my side. Yeah Multiplayer took a hit there with Warzone. Not had much luck with Arena either, had some Big Team Battles, and was not impressed, and it seems odd I was missing Halo Reach and Halo 3. Campaign was ok and awful at the same time, stupid story line, which could have been so much better, it also reminded me a little of Destiny, or Destiny reminded me of Halo, not sure which one is really relevant here, but what I did find really annoying was the Spartans you control, it is like playing with marines, the stupid ones in all Halo games. Oh, and mostly if you play with a friend, who ever is player one gets to control ALL the Spartans, this I find annoying and stupid beyond all belief. Yes, in single player you will control all Spartans, but even this is retarded in a sense because you really do not have control over them. In two player mode, you should have a team member each, so you can play in a two by two manoeuver, if you play like that, or just split up. But no, 343 knows best. Or is it just sheer laziness, or worse, they rushed the game. Halo 5 could have been better, it could have been much, much better. Halo and CoD competing against each other has just killed both games, I do not even like CoD any more, this Advanced Warfare crap is just soldiers with some Halo Tech wearing exo skel braces. Yay. What a load of crap. There are people out there that think Halo should and need to move with the times, well, I do not, moving forward has just killed Halo. The same thing is happening, or happen to CoD. (although I may be wrong, because of BlOps III) My opinion, of course...

Halo 5 Multiplayer Balancing Issues
Richard John Wilson replied to Douglas Ward's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Personally I would ignore the nutter. Not every one plays with friends or even a team, and in some cases you get ignored. A lot of grief can be given and taken in online games, social gaming is not really social any more. On with the post, internet connections are usually the biggest culprit here, and not skill. Remember you are playing with people from around the world, some with slow connections speeds and some with faster speeds, all this comes together in to the servers where the problem starts to go for you or against you. Lag, cause by these competing speeds, one has to slow down so the slower connections can keep up, it all takes a toll. Ever been in a game where people are teleporting around the map, and then you get cheaters using lag switches, this is just some one messing around with the speed of their connection speed. In my honest opinion, there should be a minimum speed for certain games, if you can not keep up, you are either not even allowed to play, get booted or are teamed up only with slow connection speedsters. Skill as a whole, is not a good enough reason because every one has their peak. And then you have to factor in also moods, you are not going to play well if your not feeling well, stressed or just plain not in to it, and on good days you play like a pro.- 4 replies

I Miss Firefight !!!
Richard John Wilson replied to Richard John Wilson's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Halo is not exactly the great game it once was, although it is not actually dying, it is changing to the point where it is forgetting what Halo was. Bungie fan biy, eh, yeah, sorry I do not think so. Just because I loved what Halo was, does not mean I like Bungie. 343 has not made Halo any better than it was once, and if I was to love the new Halo, created by 343 would I be a 343 fan boy. Stereotypical. Nonesense. Bungie made a lot of mistakes in ODST and Halo Reach, they did the same thing for Destiny. So, I am sorry to burst your sighing bubble. No love for Bungie here. Good news though, I used to love Call of Duty too, Black Ops was a turning point for me. But hey, I am just another fan boy here. Lol... -
I have tried and tried to play Warzone, but I am not impressed. I actually think I hate it. Arena is ok, but I have to admit I think Halo has gone to the dogs. Seems to me like 343 have created a new game, and the Halo I knew is dead and buried. Firefight was, is one of the best additions to Halo. Halo Reach got it right, in a sense. The Original Firefight was easily the best, apart from the fact it went on and on. Too much... Halo Reach did it right, but I was sad to see the original Firefight get left behind. I miss Firefight, and can not wait for Microsoft to pull out its finger and put Halo Reach on the backward compat list, then Halo 5 can happily die off.

So far I do not like the Promo Soldiers. They remind me of those teleporting irritating Taken from Destiny. I despise them. I also do not like how you have to choose Locke as your main character, and also if you play with a friend that the two remaining character follow Locke. It should be that you get one each to follow/command, allowing you both to split up and fight in a Two by Two manoeuver. I have not completed Halo 5 yet, but so far these are my main problems. Multiplayer, I have not delved in to that much, so I have no idea so far if 343 have kept those ridiculous loadouts they thought up in Halo 4. I hope they did not, they ruined Multiplayer for me in Halo 4.

How to Bring the Heart Back into Halo
Richard John Wilson replied to BlasterKeef's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Bringing heart back in to the game. In my opinion the problem is 343, and as far as I am concerned, best way to bring the life and heart back in to Halo is to sack the whole lot of them, or at least the ones that have no idea what a Halo game is. Halo 4 had parts of Call of Duty in it, the FMV and the Loadouts, and speaking of loadouts, half of them had no right whatsoever to be in the game, they were a complete waste and an insult to the Master Chief, and even the Spartan IV's. A Halo game that is Halo is a game so unique, it does not require some idiot to copy CoD to make it better. In my opinion it made it horrible. Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3 improved with each release and Halo 4 in some way improved also. Campaign was great, except it was ruined by cowardly Knights. Multiplayer was great too, but even that was ruined, by those stupid loadouts. Wheelman - how does an implant make the vehicle better, made no sense to me, total waste of time. Stability - It is a super Soldier for crying out loud, yeah, you can see where I am going with this. And what did they do to the Jetpack, in Halo Reach it was good and useful. In Halo 4, they halfed its time, making it almost useless. So I ask, what happened at 343, why did they employ ex CoD developers (because it seems that way), and what is with the FMV opening doors. 343 are the problem here, and I am hoping they have not ruined Halo 5. Because Halo 5 is make or break for the Halo franchise for me. -
I would be happy if the turrets actually worked. The range of them is disgusting and the fact they barely do anything makes me seethe. Matchmaking was disappointing, and it is the only reason why I never 100% completed Halo Wars.

Anyone else notice there is no Bandanna on the MCC Halo 3 and Halo 4, yet it is available for Halo and Halo 2 Anniversary. This to me just does not make sense. Or do we have to wait for a Anniversary for Halo 3 and Halo 4, which would make even less sense. Damn, now I am getting a headache. I request Bandanna for Halo 3 and Halo 4. Anyone else concur ???

Halo 3 ODST Audio Logs
Richard John Wilson replied to BlackAce's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
I would have thought in the MCC that you are to complete the game to unlock all areas when you play Mombasa Streets, it is here that you want to try the Audio. But, I have to admit, I spent more time since downloading ODST playing Legendary than looking for the Audio Files. That is the next step for me.
