Halo 3 ODST Audio Logs
Richard John Wilson replied to BlackAce's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Once you complete the game a new option is available, the ability to search the entire map. It is this time when you want to collect all the Audio Files, then go and get the last one. -
Who Wore It Better? (Spartans)
Richard John Wilson replied to Wam's topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
The Halo 4 Armour is the worst the Halo Universe has ever seen, everything basically looks the same and it looks nothing like it is supposed to. Take for instance Mol IV, looks nothing like the Armour Master Chief wears in Halo, and then there is the ODST, which in my opinion is a totally new invention based on the ODST Armour (which I am guessing because there are no more ODSTs. Halo 3 had a nice diverse set of Armours, the Customisation was great too. But in have to admit that Halo Reach has the best Armour sets available. I am a fan of the ODSTs, both Armour and players, so I choose the ODST when I can. Except of course in Halo 4. That said, Fotus Armour I truly like, yet if you look at my Spartan in Halo 4, you will see a mix match of Armour pieces. In conclusion, and in my own personal opinion, Halo Reach is the winner here. -
Difference between weapon clip ammo and weapon ammo?
Richard John Wilson replied to Steve Stacey's topic in Halo 4
Whilst I have no idea what you are talking about here, I can tell you the difference between Ammo and Ammo Clip. Ammo is the Ammunition required to make your weapon do its job, such as bullets. Ammo clip, which are barely used anymore, as they are replace by Magazines, although some Magazines actually contain a clip, which defeated the object of a Magazine. Magazine is just basically a box with a spring in it pushing up the Ammunition in to the breach of the weapon. In short, a clip holds Ammo. Which has been replaced by a Magazine. -
I hated the Armour Abilities on Halo 4, half of them were unneeded and the other half were just copied from Halo Reach (which I have no problem with), I was glad to see back of Armour Lock. The Armour Customisation I was not impressed with at all, most of it looked the same and even as much was just plain ug lee. And to top it off ODST and the Mk IV looked nothing like the Armour we were used to. For some unknown and strange reason 343 decided to make these Armours theirs. Totally ugly and totally crap. All in all I am not impressed with 343. Halo Anniversary should have been completely remade, instead of just tarted up and Halo 4's Armour Abilities were just some thing created from Christmas cracker jokes.

It is simple. If you cheat, you are a cheater. However, if a game has inbuilt cheats, then they add some thing extra to the game to prolong its lastability. I like games that have these things, such as the first time I come across such a thing was in Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation, the Bandana. This gave the game so much more freedom and with it lots more fun. But this is a single player game, where no one is effected by this cheat. For some one to actively create a cheat, lets say for Mutliplayer, then you are just some one to be despised. I have come across lag induced cheaters, and it is not nice at all. Modders is just as bad. In simple terms, if you have to cheat to win, then there is clearly some thing wrong with you, and maybe you should just give up on the gaming scene. Because you are just not worthy of the title, "Gamer"

I have a love hate relationship with this game. I love it and I hate the nonsense that is "Loadouts" There is an overdose on Loadouts, most are not even needed, some of them are just plain stupid. And, that I hate about Halo 4. Flinch should never have been added to the game, it is pure frustration, Wheelman is a complete joke, and not needed at all, you are playing a Spartan Super Soldier for craps sake Theses are just a couple, but at least 40% of the Loadout items are just pure crap, not needed and in my opinion are there just to make Halo 4 dynamic. Failed !!! The Multiplayer is great, the Campaign is great, sadly Sp-Ops is no competition for Firefight, it lost its playability too quickly. Whilst I would like to see a conclusion to the Sp-Ops storyline, I would rather prefer the return of Firfight. I am planning a return to Halo 4 one day, as it has been at least 8 months since I last played. Every where I look I see the number 117, I am thinking it is a hint. Lol...

Halo 5: Guardians Live-Action Trailer Revealed!
Richard John Wilson replied to VinWarrior's topic in Announcements
Kill the Master Chief, and you will kill the Halo franchise for good. He deserves to go off in his own way, and not hunted down and killed, if that is where it is going. I rarely play Halo now, since Halo 4, I really did not like the CoD in space thing. But if the Master Chief is to be killed off, then it is curtains for Halo for me. I am off for good. I am happy to play Halo with no Master Chief, but not at the price of his death by this so called Locke. I have not seen, nor do I know of this Locke, but I can tell you I do not like him already. -
I have played Destiny since day one, and recently slowed down on it. But, to compare Halo to Destiny would be hard. Destiny is made by Bungie, the same people that made Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach, also in some respect they made Halo 4 (if you count the people that left Bungie to carry on with Halo). So, there is some history there. However, Halo made by Bungie had Microsoft backing them and telling them what is and what is not suitable, but mostly, I believe Bungie was left alone to complete the game. With Bungie, Destiny and Activision, thing's are different, as Activision had more say and more instruction's to add. To me, this is what has ruined a great game. So now, we have a good game, that was mean't to be great. Destiny's Campaign is weak, to say the least. In my eye's, the game is not even finished. The game we play today, is not the same advertised and promised. PvP and PvE are the same, which does not work (in my opinion), following a recen t patch to nerf the Auto's, just because PvP are crying over it's OP status, has in fact changed it's performance in PvE. A lack of customisation (virtually non exist, actually) and a lack of thing's to buy in the tower, people forced to farm materiel's to upgrade weapon's and armour, which in my opinion does not belong in this game and glimmer cap that is too small. There seem's to be a lot wrong with this game, yet I do admit, it is still a good game. Now, compare all this to Halo, and let me compare it to Halo 4. Halo 4 I stopped play a very long time ago, because, Spartan Op's is not Firefight, Sp-Op's lost it's playability too soon, and mostly because of the load out system. I stopped playing Halo, as I believe it was ruined by the CoD style load out and the unnecessary thing's in the load out system. Wheelman, this to me is complete stupid, an implant that make vehicle's better and stronger, even for an arcade this is pure conjecture. Stability, another stupid addition, why, simply because you are a Spartan. If you get shot in the head, you either die or just shrug it off, until you are hit in the head again. Instead, some bright spark decided, if you are hit in the head, you can look up in to the sky, maybe shoot the bird's. Clearly this person has never played Halo, or has no idea what a Spartan is. Come to think of it, half of the load out's are so stupid, I am sure the developer's were having a competition to decide on the dumbest load out. EVER !!! I believe some of the people that came up with these idea were CoD developer's in their previous job. To me, Halo is a unique game, so it their load out system. Stupid idea's have no place in the Halo universe, yet they made it in there anyway. Halo 5 will be make or break for Halo, and if Halo 4 is any thing to do it the Halo universe, then RiP Halo. Because a very, very sad day is coming. I loved Halo, right up to Halo 4. I like Destiny. Halo's future might be coming to an end, of which I truly hope not. Some of my fondest memories stem from playing Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach (Halo Wars included), for it all to end because of Halo 4 and Halo 5 following suit. Well, a sad day indeed. Destiny has not started off so well, but it has the chance to one day be the great game it was supposed to be. Halo, could be on a downhill roll. Or Halo could be saved, if this is the case, then Destiny Vs Halo. Halo win's. Halo has more to offer, and has more depth and a potential to spread. Expand.

There is a place for armor abilties in Halo.
Richard John Wilson replied to sindronian's topic in Halo 4
I had never thought of it that way, Sindronian. But I got to admit some of the Armour Abilities should stay in Halo, whilst most need to go. Halo 3 did excellent with out Armour Abilities, and that has to be the best ever Halo game, both Campaign and MM. Now the Armour Abilities are here, it would be wrong to take them away, but right to get rid of some of the stupid ones, this includes Packages too. As I have stated before some Armour Abilities/ Packages are just plain stupid, the ones that should stay are... Jet pack. I find this an excellent AA, especially for Snipers, whether full on Sniper or DMR. Height is key and flight is might, Jetpack is a keeper. Camo. Whilst this can be a pain in the Arse, it has its tactical uses. Regen Shield. This has great uses in games such as Objective Games. Decoy. Its uses are obvious, but I added this with a 50/50 thought in mind. It is not often it is used, so it has a 50/50 usage. Basically, I would not care if it was never used again. Sprint. I am not sure about this one as a AA, I think it should stay a permanent thing. After all, you are a Spartan, which has that ability anyway. I am not going to get in to the Packages, but half if not most should be gotten rid of, they have no right to be in a Halo game, they are just leeched from CoD, and if people want to play CoD style games, then they know what game to play.- 22 replies

Reach was destroyed after Noble Team were KIA
Richard John Wilson replied to Guts's topic in Halo 3 + ODST
Non of the Human controlled planets visited by the Covenant were destroyed, however they were completely Glassed. Exposure to great heat melting rock, sort of like Lava from a Volcano, or in other words Obsidium. Black Glass. Holy Charity has a room where the walls are lined with Glass from burned worlds. Reach was the only world, I believe, that was not completely Glassed. The Covenant are on a Holy Quest to gather as much Forerunner Technology as possible, and Reach is one of the places with Forerunner Tech. Almost like Humans Holy Quest for the Grail, sort of... -
Is halo 3 multiplayer going to be canceled?
Richard John Wilson replied to Shun 'Kanamee's topic in Halo 3 + ODST
I liked Halo 3 Multiplayer Matchmaking, but it is almost impossible to play now. Not sure if it is due to lack of servers, but it is just a lag fest. I miss the game online, but it will be no great shock to me if it is closed down. Besides, I can wait for the Anniversary Edition. Or the Xbox One Edition, depending how it is re done. -
I enjoyed Halo 3 ODST, but it was ruined by the Multiplayer part of the game. I would still be playing Firefight if there was an actual Multplayer Matchmaking option, but what we had was nothing more than a chore. Also, MM would have been great if you could play in Vs mode ODST against a Covenant Squad in stead of the usual Spartan II Vs Spartan II, or in this case ODST against ODST. Halo 3 ODST 2, in my opinion should keep the Firefight, add MM and most importantly get rid of the Campaign. In its stead, you should be given Missions, large missions, where you are either Dropped (Limited ability to control the HEV) in to action or Pelican Dropped. These Missions will range from Reach, Earth, Inner Colonies and the Outer Colonies too. Buck could even be the main Character, or just have different Characters from different aspects of the Halo Universe. Basic Loadouts, which are customisable, Silenced SMG, Non Silence SMG, Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, maybe DMR, Magnum, Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle and Spartan Laser (An ODST is basically a Spartan II without the modifications, or Armour) I think a very limited amount of Utilities too, Jetpack and Sprint, maybe Decoy. Maybe... Also I would like to see Duel Weilding SMG's Fully Customisable Characters and Armour. Most importantly, a new name. Instead of Halo 3 ODST II, I think ODST: The Chronicles, or ODST: Missions Obviously what I have suggested is just a portion of what could be, this is just a basic set up. But either way, I think it is a good start.

Which Halo 3 mission is your favorite?
Richard John Wilson replied to Ghost Recon's topic in Halo 3 + ODST
The Ark. Snipers at the beginning. Warthog, Rocket Launcher passenger and Chain Gunner, perfect combination. Later on Gauss Warthog or Tank. This is a huge mission full of the things I like the most in Halo. Covenant. This is another huge mission, again full of the things I like. Vehicles, Snipers, but with a Spartan Laser in exchange for a Rocket Launcher (another passenger weapon) Halo Halo is not one of my favourite levels, but I got to admit I really enjoyed the Achievement with the Ghost. This made that level more enjoyable, if not frustrating because of the odd Lone Wolf. It is in comparison with Halo 3 ODST Mongoose Run, last level -
If they make a Halo 3 Anniversary, which I believe they will, it will be for the Xbox One. Halo Anniversary and Halo 2 Anniversary will be Xbox 360, although Halo 2 Anniversary might be for Xbox One, too, which I think should be a no no. Halo 3 Anniversary just might be a trilogy Anniversary Edition. Let us get past Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 5 first, eh

Maybe compatible is the wrong word. But the books and the games do not tally, maybe tally is the right word... In Halo Reach, Spartan IIIs are running around in the open, in the books Spartan IIIs are a closely guarded secret, in fact they are on a different planet. A planet I might add is not on any star charts, as it was removed to keep it secret. Secret being the word here, no one know they exist, except the very few that were part of the program. This is one example where the books and games do not tally, or are even compatible. Fall of Reach is basically the beginning of the Halo story, this can be also another example of the game and books not tallying up, the book Fall of Reach is a mash up of Halo and Halo Reach games. The Flood is the game Halo, that is the only book to tally completely with any of the games.

There is a place for armor abilties in Halo.
Richard John Wilson replied to sindronian's topic in Halo 4
The Abilities ruined Halo 4 for me, it felt too much liked CoD in space. As above posting, my reasons... Halo 3 would still be heavily played if it were not for the lag, I have had the odd play on Halo 3, and keep telling myself I will never go back because it is just too laggy. And, yeah, Armour Lock was a defining factor to me, I hated it with a passion. To me Armour Lock was a cheat, a nicely implemented Bungie legal cheat, and it was made even worse with the DLC that gave people more of a reason to use it (The Achievement). Halo Reach is still played, but I do steer clear of Multiplayer, that got a bit old when the playlists were plagued by Community Maps. There should have been a separate play list for these maps, which sadly there was not. So, it is Firefight for me. Firefight... If only Bungie had not crapped up Halo 3 ODST Multiplayer Matchmaking, I know which Firefight I would be playing. @Sindronian World of Warcraft is the best MMO out there, regarless of the direction it has taken. For me WoW started going downhill with Catalysm, MoP just made it what it is today. A mindless rush to End Game. A game now so easy, Primary Schoolers can play. Halo 5 needs to learn from mistakes made by 343 in Halo 4, but I have a feeling this will not happen. 343 might actually run Halo in to the ground, this will be a sad day for Halo fans. A day I am not looking forward to.- 22 replies

Ask a friend to try it on their machine, see if it is the Disk before you make and drastic decisions you might regret.

There is a place for armor abilties in Halo.
Richard John Wilson replied to sindronian's topic in Halo 4
I never liked Evade anyway, damn thing was a pain in the arse. As for Jetpack in Halo Reach, I completely disagree you, Jetpack was not Over Powered. And, in Halo 4 it is not as good as Halo Reach, and in some respect Under Powered. My opinion of course.- 22 replies

The books and the games are not compatible in any (mostly) way. If you read the books and play the game then you will notice a huge difference, in fact, as far as I know there is only one book that is same as the game. Halo Combat Evolved. Except for the ODST story line in the book, the game is an almost mirror to the game. Which would make an excellent game for the Xbox One, if they remake Halo for the Xbox One. A sort of side game, as Halo 3 ODST was to Halo 3.

How Do You Feel About Weapon Attachments?
Richard John Wilson replied to BeckoningZebra1's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Halo 4 had the CoD treatment, and now you want more CoD in Halo 5. I think you should stick to CoD. And Halo should go back to being Halo. The next change for Halo might be Gears of War inspired ideas, 343 did enough damage to Halo 4 with all the stupid Armour Abilities they come up with, half of them were CoD copies. Halo player do not want CoD or Gears in our game. I just hope some of the crap from Halo 4 does not make it to Halo 5. Leave Halo alone, and go play CoD !!! -
There is a place for armor abilties in Halo.
Richard John Wilson replied to sindronian's topic in Halo 4
Armour Abilities should stay in the game, but I seriously believe 343 cocked up the Armour Abilities in Halo 4, and I presume it will not get better in Halo 5. Progress means that exaggeration becomes more and more ridiculous. In Halo 4, you have things like Wheelman, which makes no sense what-so-ever, a Neural Implant in a Spartan that makes Vehicles stronger and better is a complete joke. Stability is another senseless Ability, if a shot that is powerful enough for cause a Spartan to Flinch and shoot the birds in the sky, then clearly that shot is powerful enough for kill. Headshot !!! Halo 4 is cluttered with stupid and pointless Loadouts such as above. Halo Reach Loadouts were a start and Halo 4 made them interesting, but the exaggeration has made the game a joke. Armour Abilities should stay in the game, but they need to cut down on the stupidity. In my opinion Halo 4 was made by developers that were new to Halo, and brought CoD in to the game. This to me is a fail, and again it is an addition of stupid Abilities that do not belong in a Halo game. I noticed a change in the Abilities in Halo 4 from Halo Reach, for example Jetpack. Its range has been cut down in Halo 4. I remember that the Jetpack runs longer in Halo Reach than it does in Halo 4. This to me was wrong, and wonder why it was made this way. This is the most changed Ability in the game, obviously some of the other Abilities are better in Halo 4 than in Reach. Camo and Decoy are better in Halo 4 than Halo Reach. So why make Jetpack worse in Halo 4 than in Halo Reach ??? Armour Abilities need to stay in Halo, but common sense even in a game needs to take effect, it is funny that the Weapons side of the Loadouts work out well, it is just a majority of the Abilities. One more thing though, before I go. Thruster Pack. Why, that is the biggest question. I see that it is fun, and if you fall from a great height (enough to kill you), you can use Thruster Pack to save your life (already tested it). Evade would have been a better option. Sprint, I think it works well in Halo, it is part of a Spartan, the ability to increase speed for short periods of time.- 22 replies

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Rumored
Richard John Wilson replied to VinWarrior's topic in Announcements
I would like to see a Remastered HD version of Halo 3 ODST, maybe even remade properly this time. I would also like to see Multiplayer Matchmaking done right with Firefight, with new maps and a Vs mode. ODST Squad Vs Covenant Squad, or failing that ODST Vs ODST. I would also like to see the Characters fully customisable, as Halo Reach and Halo 4 is now. Proper Loadouts, and not the bull that is Halo 4, completely exaggerated and pointless. Some thing real and true to ODST. I think bringing back the Hornet for MM, as well as Vehicles that were around for Halo 3. Make Halo interesting again, even if it is not Master Chief, it can still be Halo.- 18 replies

Next Halo anounced as Halo 5: Guardians
Richard John Wilson replied to skummgummigubbe's topic in Announcements
343, Halo 4 and Monumental in the same sentence does not sit well with me, and I question if you have actually played any of the other Halo games. In my opinion, and this is my personal opinion, which I also know others have agreed with me upon, is that 343 did both a good and not so good job on Halo 4. Calling it monumental, has me wondering about the mental part of that word. Halo 4 Campaign was nicely done, I would presume that the Armour change was a sign of the times sort of thing, but for us that notice these things, how did he manage to change his Armour in a Sleeper Tube. Does Master Chief Cryo Sleep Walk ??? Spartan Ops was an interesting idea, but begs the question, why ??? It would have been possible to have made this and turned it in to a Firefight Mode afterwards. For now, SpOps has lost its playability. Multiplayer Matchmaking for me was the test, and it failed. CoD style Loadouts was by far the worst thing for Halo, some of the Armour Loadouts are not needed and just plain stupid. This was clearly made by someone new to Halo, I mean, Wheelman... A Neural Chip Interface that makes Vehicles stronger and better, like that works. Stability, for Flinch, again another noob attemp at making a Halo game. If the attack is powerful enough in a Powered Suit, then surely it is powerful enough for a head shot. Halo 4 Campaign worked nicely (and Cortana is not dead, the Librarian stated that Master Chief and Cortana were one and the same, one can not function with out the other). Firefight would have worked out better, left SpOps as a stand-a-lone series, the Halo Loadouts worked out well with this. Multiplayer Matchmaking Loadouts, as stated before were made by someone new to Halo, and did not work out that well. For me, personal opinion again, Loadouts ruined MM. Halo 5 needs to be better than Halo 4, it need to correct the mistakes made and restore faith in the Halo Community that know and love Halo. -
I have seen bullet proof players on CoD, and also players flying on there. But Halo... Closest thing I have come to in cheating is the lag switching, which I seem to get a lot. I thought it was my connection speed once and changed service providers, but it did not really do too much. Lag and lag switching can be a real pain in the arse, and then you get people that mod. Whilst I have not seen this at all in Halo, I have known people using controllers (which are seriously expensive) that cause instant head shots and speeds up the firing process, sort of like the auto fire thing form years ago. Cheating is a problem with most games, more so in others. I stopped playing CoD IV (best maps in all COD games), because cheating got so bad there. Biggest thing with Halo is Lag. I can not play Halo 3 because of it

I do not Tea-Bag, as I find it offensive. I think very little of those that Tea-Bag. I have my own way of rubbing salt in to the gaping wounds (dead body), I beat there dead body up, stick them and walk on by. Many a time I have angered some one to the point of stupidity, where they came back repeatedly for revenge. Some times they get revenge and return the favour, in the odd time they are repeatedly beaten and stuck. I have never really got the concept of Tea-Bagging, or even the idea. Hanging your groin over some ones corpse and dipping looks nothing like dipping a Tea Bag in a cup (or a mug). Further more, a bloke has balls, not bags. So, how does it work if the Spartan is female ???
