Interests
I like Halo. Because, you know, Halo. Also I have an interest in the work of sci-fi novelist Dan Abnett, because if you're going to read military sci-fi, you might as well be getting the good stuff. Hence the moniker.

Top 10 things NOT to say when pulled over
Mkoll replied to TRF BaDInTentZs's topic in General Discussion
Also that last one in the original list was from a Dave Barry article, I remember because I'm pretty sure they used it on the back cover of the collection I had. Guy's hilarious. -

Gotta say the Halo CE tank and Warthog, ******* indestructible vehicles, except I didn't care for the "shoot the vehicle and the driver takes damage bit", but I suppose that was to balance the fact that the Warthog took direct tank/SPNKr blasts like a champ. The Halo 2 tank was the **** as well. And props to Tallgeese, keeping it real with the Gundam references. Of course, Forerunner Tank would've dominated all.

New piece still in progress, it's the Autumn! She hasn't been hit yet! This is a basic pencil drawing, will post more when I'm done.

The greatest thing I ever saw in Halo had to be the first time I looked up and saw the ring in Halo CE. I had no idea what the game was about, and I was in a multiplayer match with my cousin on his Xbox. I'd never even used an analog controller so naturally I was running around staring up into the sky for a few minutes while I got the hang of it, and I saw that there was this huge structure rising from the horizon. When I saw that it extended all the way across the sky I almost **** myself because I'd never seen anything that cool, and to be honest it's the coolest thing I've seen anywhere since in terms of scenery or a setting (the only thing that came close was the Grid in Tron: Legacy [sure the acting sucked, but that movie was the most visually-entrancing thing ever if you saw it in theaters when you were stoned, which I did three times, and no shame]). ******* mind blowing. It'll probably never be matched.

This was the first game I ever played online regularly. So many kills, so many matches, so many memories of badass **** the like of which simply cannot every be replicated. The ultimate LAN game, and my favorite multiplayer Halo experience. Just a beautiful, balanced game. Everything was on an even keel, and everyone could rise through the ranks, given they had the skill and dedication, because of the excellent matchmaking (levellers be damned).

Are you seriously eleven? Don't go telling me my opinion is worthless, you weren't even alive when I started merking people in video games. Just as long as I feel like it's the culmination of my 30 years of combat when I pick it up.

Star Wars for certain, they've got a much greater control over their galaxy and they're united. Halo only has 2 groups and they're already at war. Even the Forerunners couldn't stand up to the Empire, they're just too huge. The Empire had a stranglehold on the entirety of the galaxy.

The point I'm making is that the SAW is a totally redundant weapon (because of the removable turret, which is why I bring it up) that isn't particularly interesting or innovative because it's so ordinary and commonly used in other games. Of course the Marines can use the other weapons, but I'm not talking about the other weapons, I'm talking about huge ******* guns that they couldn't use. I've said it about three times now: I'm not a Marine in Halo. I don't want to be limited to the kind of things that Marines can do. That's why I was attracted to these games going back to Combat Evolved, because I liked seeing the Chief flip a tank, then jump into a Banshee and instantly know how to work it, then break an Elite's spine with one hit, then sprint into a company of enemy troops with no support, then chuck a grenade 300 yards, then RIP A ******* TURRET OFF ITS TRIPOD AND CARRY IT AROUND, LIKE A BOSS. If the weapon itself isn't interesting or innovative, I don't want to see it in Halo. I'm talking in circles now, but if I'm going to use a heavy weapon with my 500-years-in-the-future-Space-Warrior, I want it to be cool as ****, and the typical SAW is not cool as ****. I'm on board with the pistols and the assault rifles and all the other staples because they're basic tools of the trade, but heavy weapons are where developers are supposed to really flex their creative muscles. [edit] And I'm not trying to sound like an ******* or bash you personally, but I feel very strongly about this subject. Otherwise I wouldn't have made a thread about it.

Hey, I couldn't find a previous art-related thread so here's a brand new one. I spent a while doing a couple iterations of a drawing of the Chief from a trailer that I'm sure we all recognize. Obviously I'm just posting this to stroke my ego, but that's cool, right? No? Too late. This is one draft (done in Ultra-Fine Point Sharpie), I'm pretty happy with it and I just wanted to share it with a like-minded community, because frankly even art-centric forums aren't worth **** unless you're an actual artist, and I'm just a neophyte hobbyist. If anyone else has any art they'd like to share, Halo-related or not, I'll throw in my two cents on it, and I always appreciate critique of course.

Haha this was the best! Everyone was always screaming whenever the zombies came in and we'd all be meleeing boxes and **** in front of the door to make a barrier. And yes, always on Foundation. Great times, almost as consistent as SWAT on Lockout

Favorite character in the Halo universe and why?
Mkoll replied to TimeLessHalo9090's topic in Member Created Work
I like Johnson but that sounds too generic. If I had to pick another character, I'd go with the Aussie. He was a bad ************, and if I had to pick a random ODST to go into a fight with me, I'd always single out the Aussie and bring him along. I also liked the Arbiter, he probably has the coolest character development arc of anyone in the series.- 14 replies

You'd think since they're using a mini fusion reactor they could just eject it from the suit, how much power does converted human waste provide by comparison?

Holy crap, no mention of bananas! Anway, I thought it was pretty good, production value was sick as hell for a web series. Acting wasn't exactly top-of-the-line but it was solid all around, especially during the climax, they were doing better than most of the **** you see on network TV nowadays. Action was light because it's expensive to do action, but what they did was pretty badass. As to the sixth episode, I thought it was pretty clear that 5 was the end, didn't you? It was a satisfactory wrap up.
