Why is the PS4 more popular than the Xbox One? The XB1 dropped all its bad policies before it was even released, and the PS4 charges for online multiplayer, so...what's going on here?

The Xbox One was more expensive (in most countries). It also came with a mandatory camera that a lot of people didn't want to pay for. On the hardware side, the PS4 is also slightly better, but less slightly now that the Xbox One has removed the Kinect. Some people also like the exclusives more.
