We won't learn anything by not lynching even if we do review all our information...well, maybe we might have an inkling of a clue by round 5. Every single time we lynch wrong we learn something. Every. Single. Time. We have an obligation to lynch every round if we want to win. No exceptions, no excuses.

That is utter nonsense. Lynching no one makes the game harder than lynching wrongly does. At least lynching wrongly narrows it down. Failure to lynch is what lost us Mafia 2.0 and doomed 3.0.

Oh yes, because zero chance of winning is better than 25% chance of winning.

It helped a little. And it does help narrow down the Mafia. We should never go a round without a lynch. The only two ways the Mafia can win are if we lynch wrong too often, or don't lynch. But we must lynch. Every round they will inch closer to victory. We will as well, either by narrowing down the list or by successfully getting one. Unless, you know, we just do neither and get nowhere. That is why we must lynch, every round, without exception.

I have little reason to suspect anyone, but lynching no one means we get nothing and learn nothing. It's one of the only two ways Pro-town ever loses. So, out of an obligation to lynch, and a hunch... I vote Delpen.

Aye, that's why these screenshots are utterly meaningless anyway. As for deleting, they can delete the PM, start a new one, and add the host to it. What we did back when I was Mafia, in other words. It's so fast and easy to make a screenshot based deception that they're worthless. BUT, I still vehemently argue in favor of confirming innocence being more important than hiding our special roles. Confirming innocence prevents wrong lynches, which at the core of Mafia itself are the Mafia's only method of winning. If Pro-town does not lynch wrong or lynch no one, the Mafia cannot win. Therefore if ANY way to confirm innocence while still alive is devised, it should be used. And the Detective must relay their findings on the exact day they receive them, within the same space of five minutes of reading them, to a ghost. The ghost must then relay it to this very topic, also within five minutes of reading it. The nonsense we had to go through last game to get our information slowed us greatly. On top of that, it gave an opportunity for it to be muddled up and for that reason we killed another of our own. Timely, accurate relaying of Detective findings is the only way to avoid such a situation.

Do you people actually believe that it's more important to keep the Mafia from taking out our special roles than it is to avoid lynching our own people?

A much needed improvement over the Halo 4 armors. And we can use Chief's campaign armor in multiplayer now! Finally! Halo 4 should have had that, it looked so much better than the Mark VI we got. Isn't getting the game before the console a bit of a risky move? Best wait til Christmas for both if you don't already have an X1. The price will drop then. As for me...I know I won't have money for either on launch day! So I'll have to be content with saving money up, and with watching Let's Plays on Youtube. Actually, I should probably get a job, seeing as I just turned 16.

I've been Mafia before too, Ledgend. Pro-town is much more dangerous with information than without.

I just saw this, and... Ridiculous. Just. Friggin. Ridiculous. Pro-town works at its best when it knows the most. We lose when either we trust too much (last game) or when we withhold information from other pro-town simply because it will keep it out of the Mafia's hands (2 and 3). Outright telling the Mafia who is the medic or detective is foolishness. But it's far more important that we know who NOT to lynch than prevent them from discovering our special roles. Preventing the flow of information aids none but the Mafia. That said, screenshots are worthless for the reasons others have laid out. But should other means of confirming innocence arise, there should be no refusal to use said means on the grounds that it "helps the Mafia find the Medic and Detective." That kind of thinking WILL get us all killed. Also, this time the Detective should relay every investigation as he or she gets it, through the Mafia's first victim, in real time. No withholding of investigation results, even temporary. The Detective will not investigate themselves, naturally. Should they find the medic, only then is withholding acceptable, but they MUST say the medic is an ordinary civilian. This is to prevent wrong lynching and expedite proper lynching. And it's at least ten times more helpful to Pro-town than making it more difficult for the Mafia to narrow down the special roles.

Cool scene, with the tension and the Mafia having to fight, for lack of a better name, "Rueby Rose".

Well said. I will most certainly keep my guard up as you've said. Except for one thing. We do have to lynch someone. Better we take a risk than stand idle; the first option gives us a chance, the second gives us nothing. The Mafia always inch closer to their goal, so we have to gamble when we aren't sure.
-
That's exactly why there should be a rule against it.
-
Another lesson learned, right? Once again, apologies. It just seemed really counterproductive for a Mafian to do that. Though that was the perfect cover, obviously.
-
We didn't lose by inactivity, we lost by a combination of being outwitted...and Mereel's suicide. We would have tied or won if he hadn't done that, but certainly never lost. Unfortunately that doesn't mean the Mafia's win doesn't count. It completely does. And I dislike that, but it just means we play better next time.

So what will you dress up for Halloween?
Axilus Prime replied to Helix Amell's topic in General Discussion
I don't trick or treat (obviously), but I sometimes dress up for fun. This year is one of those times. Apologies for atrocious lighting and blurry camera. I might get better pics up later if I can. Here. -
I suppose the neutrals 'win' if they accomplish what they set out to do. So many possible goals...
-
So then neutrals can choose which side to aid and share winning conditions with?

Spot 16.

How about we get the signup phase for 7.0 started immediately, but have the actual gameplay begin when 6.0 ends? Sounds a bit more efficient, right?
-
Yeah, game over. Mafia don't need to kill us all to win, they need only outnumber us. And they do, thanks to Mereel's suicide. WHY would he do that?! We almost had this!
-
What in the bloody thrice damned bleeding hell is this?
-
:wallbash: it seems the Game So Far things were the perfect cover. A thousand pardons, Shinya. destruct yu is ded nxt tym haha lolz

So, now we either kill a Mafian or discover one. Whatever the outcome, something good has come of this lynching.
