  1. The lighting effects and model complexity are on par with Halo 4. But the textures. Textures make a big difference IMO, especially if the lighting actually reflects on them well. That's why I think Halo Reach looks more realistic than Halo 4, even though Halo 4 is undeniably better in the lighting and detail. And that's also why I think Halo 3's graphics are better than Destiny's. The lighting effects are in a similar range, and even though Halo 3's multiplayer armor lacked good texturing, its campaign texturing for Chief and the enemies was more realistic. Never said that graphics make a game lame. I said Destiny's graphics themselves were lame, and I meant that in context. By modern standards, they are kind of lame.
  2. Hmm. Gameplay looks cool, sort of like what would happen if you took an RTS game but then experienced it full scale, on the ground, as just one guy. Story seems like it's been done before in some way, but then again this is Bungie we're talking about here. Their stories have never been done before. The details later in the game should probably prove this to be another Bungie original. Sounds like an impossible fight though. One fortress city of humans against all that surrounding them. The Traveler's probably containing humanity's only hope, or something like that. And of course, probably some secret too. Graphics on the other hand are lame. They're somewhere between Halo 2 and 3's graphics, a disappointment considering how far games have advanced in that department.
  3. The Cowbell, Famine, and Catch skulls are insanely frustrating.

  4. Lol, I got the Famine skull by stacking THREE Ghosts on top of each other.

  5. Banned for mistaking Blood Gulch for some Forge World map while saying that no one plays CE anymore in the guise of an Elite Ultra with a yellow tinge on a day between Sunday this week and Sunday next week and failing to wear a striped red and blue tie while doing so.
  6. Banned for using yellow and orange in the same line of text.
  7. Oh wow, didn't see that coming. Ok, it's hint time. "The pack will feast on you!"
  8. That's way bigger than a Skirmisher shield, no way.
  9. Somewhat between a plasma grenade and Skirmisher shield in size. The function is more similar to a Skirmisher shield.
  10. I just had an idea that is beyond insane. Halo 2 LASO. Has anyone ever even done this?

Maybe with another game, but not Halo 2.

This will happen when I give birth to a monkey LOL

  11. I also have a policy about winning every Halo game I get on solo Legendary, because I know I can and it would be a shame not to live up to it. So if I ever get CEA, I'll do that. I usually go for the achievements I didn't get on my first playthrough on Legendary.
  12. Ouch. I don't have Anniversary, but seriously, that part at the end where Elites just keep coming so they can guard the Banshees.... I usually just jump down and skip that fight. Which is strange, since in every other Halo game I have a strict policy against skipping enemies or glitching past stuff.
  13. Better than Bungie? I'm actually fairly new to Halo, so no nostalgia goggles here: I'm sure you're either trolling or just a noob.
  14. Both wrong. Elite Sniper (I don't want to bother with the leet), you're going farther again. Shields are a similar track, but not the right one.
  15. Finally got the Guerilla achievement by going to the trouble of getting the Thunderstorm skull, then using it to boost my score. It did nothing to the difficulty since my tactics make the enemy's rank irrelevant unless they're a Chieftain. Though the Iron skull taught me a lesson on how to almost never die. I might use the Iron skull on a Reach playthrough some time, as a skill-training run.

  16. Death carries a heavy price. Use of the Iron skull in Halo 3 forced me to improve my skills to the point of rarely dying. But rarely isn't enough...

  17. Gonna play Halo 3's first level with the Iron skull to get an achievement.

I've only had Halo 3 for a few months. I'm only doing this because I can't rent Reach at the moment, and I need something fun to do while I order it in the mail. So I'm going for that Campaign Scoring achievement.

  18. That's between Jackal shield and Hunter shield. And since Jackal shield is closer, that would be a no.
  19. 1.At times there are four factions, actually. I don't think anything prevents the Prometheans from sticking around on the Covenant ships. If they all had some power source linked to Requiem, then there could be Prometheans elsewhere. Since the Sentinels seem to be benign at the moment, and it would be a shame to introduce a full blown new faction then immediately ditch it, I think they'll stay, but the Flood will still show up. 2.Mostly agreed. 3.Yeah, a mix of darker, scarier, survival horror style Flood, and the epic battles against the Covenant we're used to having would be awesome. It could range from fighting infiltration teams of Covenant, to huge battles with the scale of what we saw in Halo Reach, to taking a plunge into the depths of the worst of the Flood. Flood Firefight would be awesome. I can imagine having so much fun playing that with friends. The frustration of the Flood came from being defeated at their hands and sent to the last checkpoint so frequently. But in a simple horde fighting mode, with friends, they'd be fun beyond belief.
