I generally try to avoid making threads like this, but eventually I started to wonder what you guys would think if they did this.
So, here goes.
First off, general gameplay style.
-No more custom loadouts. It was a good experiment. Someone had to test it. But honestly, there are too many ways to create an overpowered combination with this.
-Armor Abilities are good. I do prefer them over equipment. But Reach had better AA's. Even Armor Lock is fine with me, but I don't care if they put it in or leave it out. If they put it in, maybe they should nerf it so it only reduces damage, or has a shorter duration. As for how they are picked, Reach Slayer style.
-Fixed loadouts are ok with me. Like Reach's Invasion and Firefight loadouts. But an even start with only a choice of AA is also fine with me. Maybe for different gametypes.
-Speaking of which, include a Slayer Classic variant that has fixed spawn weapons and no AA's, for the big fans of the old games. In fact, a set of certain gametypes would be sufficient to please everyone.
-Make customs better, make Forge better (It's so clunky and awkward), and make Theater better. Allow for actual recording in Theater to save as a video file that is visible in-game, on the Waypoint site, and available for online streaming there or download.
-No ordnance. It's not hard to pick up a weapon on the map. And that way, there's a chance to prevent people from just camping until they get a power weapon.
-Make the weapons less like counterparts to each other. Reach did this well, 4 did not. 3 was passable in this regard. But I think a Sniper Rifle and Beam Rifle that basically do the same thing is redundant and lame.
Secondly, Campaign.
-Bring back Campaign Scoring and Matchmaking. There was no point to removing this. Seriously.
-Put the Arbiter in. He was a great character, and seeing him redesigned in HD graphics would be great. I wouldn't even mind if he was ugly like the H4 Elites, it's his character and awesomeness that matter. (Though I do want his armor to be good.)
-Good music. Halo 4 had awesome, possibly the best music...in the last level. The rest was meh. We need more music diversity, and some of the older tracks, or at least references to them like how Reach frequently references Halo 3's soundtrack.
-A proper bossfight. A powerful enemy that isn't all scripted like Guilty Spark, or a lame damage sponge/OHK monster like Tartarus. Something unique, challenging, and awesome.
-I don't care whether they keep or leave the QTE's, but they should spice up the campaign with several unique moments, like the Scarab battles of H3, and the Sabre flight of Reach. There is so much they can do here.
Third, Firefight.
-Bring it back, with all that customizability.
-Give it a Matchmaking function, obviously.
-Not much to change here.
Fourth, Spartan Ops.
-I don't care if they bring it back or leave it. If they do...
-Make it unique and immersive, with less button pressing. Make it truly like a second campaign, not a redundant failure that is an insult to Firefight, which it was originally meant to replace.
-Make the story significant to the Halo universe, and make the player characters a big part of it. Not Fireteam Majestic or any of that crap.
Fifth, Graphics.
-Return to the gritty, realistic look of Halo Reach, but with textures beyond Reach and CG model complexity beyond Halo 4. The new Xbox is coming out, there is no excuse not to have the best graphics to ever come out at the time of Halo 5's release.
Finally, Armor.
-Make it look GOOD. Reach and 3 did this perfectly, but more than half of Halo 4's armor is crap.
-Do NOT make the armor give you perks or anything. Do away with perks altogether. Even if they did put perks back for some inconceivable reason, they should be barely noticeable, and not be linked to the armor. Otherwise we'll be forced to look like something we don't want to look like if we want to function well, which is just lame.
So, tell me what you guys think!
