If she is coming back, that is most likely going to make up most of Halo 5 and/or 6's story.. It will be "The hunt for cortana" by wanting to know if she returns you are basically saying you would like the game(s) spoiled for you..

No, it doesn't have to be the hunt for Cortona, they could just make her come back simply in the first couple of missions. Then, throughout the campaign it'd be like any other Halo, having Cortona pointing out the obvious situations and such. It just wouldn't really be the Halo if they permanently take Cortona out of it.
