  1. They would drastically unbalance the already balanced gameplay of Halo 3. As optimistic as I am towards 343's next endeavour with Halo 5, they don't quite have the hang of things yet.
  2. I'm tempted to get RPG Maker XP or VX. Has anyone here used either of those programs before?

I used... I think 3 before. It's not too bad, but it'd be more prudent to learn unity or something similar. you can make a wider range of games.

2003's my favourite. I've been using it for seven years now. Since I can't find a translated edition that will function on my computer, and have the ability to purchase things on the web, I was considering trying an updated edition. Since game construction is just a hobby, I don't want to spend vast funding on a program I'll never use. :/

  4. OOC: ... "Today's the day," Walter said to Frederik and Duke as the last of their hunting equipment was hefted onto the back of the truck. "Let's go get us some Moa." "Woo-hoo!" Frederik yelled. "Quiet," his father told him. "The sun hasn't even risen yet. Your sister's still asleep." The three piled into the truck, and drove off. After a long day of driving out to the woods, the end of the dirt road was in sight. The sun was setting, and light was fading fast. "We'll set up camp here, and make our way out into the forest tomorrow." He lit up a cigarette, and proceeded to pitch a large tent. "Boys, go gather some firewood. Take the flashlight with you." He grabbed the light and tossed it towards Frederik, who failed to catch it and got hit in the stomach. Duke and Walter laughed, while Frederik held his stomach.
  5. I was the creepiest of Slendermen at the Halloween party yesterday. *insert Slenderman happy face here*

  6. Canada Post, you have failed me.

  7. The Gauss Warthog in Halo 3 was probably the best edition of the Gauss Warthog. It fires at a reasonable rate, is indestructible so long as the driver stays alive, and the screen on the gun doesn't look bad either. While I've made a minigame with Gauss Warthogs in Halo 4 and they sound badass, they fire so much slower than in other games. D:
  8. Stupid Canada Post and their delivering stuff to you AFTER you need it. My Slenderman mask is getting here on the 28th, when I wanted it for a Halloween party on the 26th. D:

It's because I live in what's considered a remote and rural location. Might as well live in the woods. XD

  9. The two boys sat down at the table, where two grilled cheese sandwiches awaited them on plates. Frederik's father, Walter, put his newspaper down and looked at him. "You two having fun out there?" he asked in a deep voice. "Yep!" Frederik replied. "Mm-hmm," Duke hummed as he scarfed down his sandwich. Walter cleared his throat. "I've been thinking about going on another hunting trip, Frederik. Hunting season just started recently," he stared at the shotgun hanging on the wall. "Really?!" Frederik's eyes beamed. "Yes sir," he responded. He scratched his finger. "My trigger finger's getting itchy." Walter looked back at his son. "I know you like Moa burgers... and we're out of Moa. Since those damn rebels made your school shut down, I figure we'll go for a four-day trip next Monday." His attention shifted to Duke. "Duke!" The kid jumped and peered up from his sandwich. Walter laughed; it was a wheezy laugh that only a decade of smoking could create. "Do you want to go hunting with us?" His mouth full, Duke nodded. "Good! When you get home, I want you to get your parents to phone me. We'll sort everything out so that the three of us can go get some fresh Moa." The man quickly checked the room, then leaned forward. "More importantly, Frederik, I'll make sure your mama doesn't get mad at me for bringing lots of Moa home." "I heard that!" Frederik's mother yelled from elsewhere in the house. "Oh! Well, I'm in trouble now. Run along and play, boys," he told them. The two children got out of their seats and went outside. OOC: Let's get this RP rolling! Let's go, let's go, let's go!
  10. I think the main problem was that Brutes do not have recharging energy shields, just a set of power armour. Once that's gone, they're vulnerable to a headshot or can be put down with a single melee. It's the same story with Elites and Spartans, but their shields recharge if they live through a fight. Brutes do not have regenerating armour. But I like the idea. It would be interesting to play as other Covenant species instead of just Elites. Each one certainly has their own niche in the grand scheme of their alien war machine, and multiplayer gametypes surrounding each species would make for interesting gameplay. Who wouldn't like to see a Jackal in a fistfight against a Brute, or Grunty CTF?
  11. "Bang bang! Gotcha!" Frederik said as he pointed his index and middle finger at his friend, Duke. "Arrrgghhh!" Duke yelled. "You just made me mad!" He started stomping towards Frederik, making thumping noises as he walked. Frederik pointed at Duke again. "Bang bang bang! Pew pew pew!" His imaginary bullets didn't work on his friend. "Mega fireball!" Duke opened his hand. "Whoosh!" Frederik jumped to the side and started to shoot again. "I got you, Fred!" "No you didn't, I jumped out of the way!" "My fireballs can't miss! They follow you!" Duke retorted. "I turned my shield on but you didn't know I did." Duke frowned and crossed his arms. He turned away. "I don't wanna play anymore, Fred! It's not fair! You always cheat!" Before the argument escalated any further, Frederik's mother opened the back door. "Boys, it's time for lunch!" she exclaimed. The two kids walked towards the house, and went inside.

Here's what you do. Put one of the notes from the game on a tree, or lightpost, and hide nearby. if someone stops to look at it, or even takes it, follow them around.

@ Muse: Do you know what you did wrong for your headgear? I'm putting my Slenderman costume together later today and I don't want to wind up with a bent nose.

@ Da Baus: Since I'm having a Halloween party here next weekend, I'll put up a couple notes around the yard provided it isn't raining. I'll also round up cardboard tubes, carve eyes out of them, put glowsticks inside and put them in windows.

  13. Not sure if you didn't notice or perhaps the option's not unlocked for you, but there is an edit button.
  14. Basically from what I read, you want 343 to ruin the game with glitches instead of different gameplay from the rest of the series? And you want no unintelligent comments yet accuse 343 of being unable to read? First off, the glitches were fixed so that everyone is on an even playing field, where your ability to play the game instead of break the game is the deciding factor in battle. If you want to win by breaking the game, you may as well make a mod which enables your Plasma Pistol to kill people in one shot in a regular BTB match, or sniping from a spot where others cannot return fire. Multiplayer is a contest of skill, not a contest of breaking the rules. Glitches are fun, but are best left outside of competition. Second, disrespecting people will yield a lack of respect in return. If you want anyone to take your ideas seriously, do not accuse the party it's directed at of being illiterate and present your thoughts politely... that bit about zooming in does not help your argument. And finally, this is a fan-made Halo community, as in it's not 343's official website. Your best chances of getting them to read this would be to post a topic on Halo Waypoint.
  15. The Dominion shield issue can be remedied by setting the object colour to blue instead of the team in which it belongs to, if you haven't done so already. That, or else you could say the water runs red with the blood of fallen warriors.

  21. While Forge World is amazing, I like Halo 4's forge maps more. Sure, they don't provide as much freedom as Forge World, but each map provides their own unique set of pieces as well as a default structure set. If you die somehow in Forge World while building something, it takes a little while to get back to where you were working unless you put a respawn point nearby. Halo 4's maps are smaller, so you won't waste as much time in transport, except on Forge Island. With Forge World, its structure pieces fall short. Each piece is grey, and when you start building, it's all grey. Each block is grey upon grey with a bit of blue glass, and a slight change in colour around said blue glass if you change its colour. So if you build a giant castle and walk around inside, it'll be grey unless you add lighting. Structure pieces in Halo 4 are more colourful, and have a variety of textures to them, with some circuitry in certain pieces and stripes that change colour. They just look more vibrant. Magnets make building somewhat easier, although 343 didn't use the skeleton of some pieces to find the exact centre. Instead, they eyeballed some, which can be remedied by editing coordinates or with a bit of eyeballing on your own. I guess I've adapted to Halo 4's forge, flaws and all. But don't forget a little saying that goes "different strokes for different blokes".
