I think the CSR system is starting to kick in more now as better players have got to higher rankings so for lower players or players starting anew you generally go against lower ranked players. Definately a better balance these days, although not perfect.

I wont go into most of this as its been covered in many other threads but as for the campaign, the only 2 halo games where i thought the story line didnt have flaws was CE and reach. My least fav part in the whole saga had to be giving the flood a commanding personality. I loved the idea of it being some incredibly infectious devastating disease rather than it being spread as part of some grand plan by an evil conciousness. Obviously perception of story line quality is about as subjective as it gets but wanted to get that one off my chest for ages. As for halo 5 the best thing to do would be to actually finish it before releasing it.

Whenever i speak to CoD players the one thing that they always say (bearing in mind that my sample size is relatively small) when commenting about halo is "i dont like the enemies". For many people Halo isnt really a consideration when it comes to multiplayer games. As for the drop in numbers playing online, thats a shame really as its still a good game that was pushed too early. Some fixes are happening but it seems unlikely to greatly increase numbers.

Slayer pro should be a good addition to things, its always fun on rumble pit. Although a few games on infinity slayer yesterday always ended up as normal rather than pro, which was a shame.

Im not a huge fan of ordinance but it is unlikely to go away so better balancing between teams would be good. Make all high power weapons (rocket, fuel rod, spartan laser, incinerator) placement only as they confer too much of an advantage, possibly do the same with sniper weapons as well. Leaving only extra grenades, and more close range weapons as ordinance.

I had never really thought about it until now but i pretty much always do it. Its the one point when it really doesnt matter what you do so do anything.

I never teabag people but have been known to teabag the air from time to time.

Very true. This often confuses me when someones only answer to why they have a particular opinion is 'i dont like it' or 'thats just what i think'. Its always worth taking the time to think about why you have particular emotions attatched to viewpoints and why certain emotional reactions are triggered by people offering a different/opposing view.

A similar thing has happened to me more than once, im not sure if its trolls, beginners or just fools. For those epeople with way more deaths than kills it may be that they have just started playing and everygame needs new players. I applaude people with the balls to keep playing and improve. When i started playing it was with friends on system link CE who were all already pretty good so it took me a few games just to get a kill but i kept playing and eventually won my first game and so on. It can be pretty annoying when teamed up with these people but i have seen them learn on occasion and actually started sticking with me/us and learning from mistakes. What really annoys me is when you get people grenading your vehicles or purposfully getting run down so they can kick you etc just cos they wanted that mantis/ghost etc on BTB.

Having an opinion regardless of your level of education about a subject is also human nature. Look at many peoples opinion about any number of scientifically supported subjects and you will see a serious lack of understanding but a very strong opinion non the less. I do agree that most people complaining are not playing competitively but even these people often dont like to be low ranked even though it really shouldnt matter. Not sure if it was targeted at me but i never said anything about not liking competition i just think it has its place.

The scorpion on the bridge level in Halo 2 was truly awesome. Utter devastation!

There is nothing wrong with competition but not liking competition does not make you a communist. Having competition in every aspect of society does not make for a well balanced one. I enjoy a bit of competition but like to chill and not be competitive sometimes too. Ranks are a good thing as they are important to many people, if you dont care, dont worry. People trashing low ranked people is competition gone wrong. Teabaggers.

Ivesy replied to BenevolentImperator's topic in Halo 4

I would love to get rat race and hang em high from CE back. Loved those maps on system link

I have to agree at least you dont get helicopters minigunning down players who happen to be out in the open or RC bombs or artillery strikes etc these things are all integral features of any cod game and halo 4 has none of them.

Wow did this thread get bitchy

Hardly Any People Online, Are The Stats Bugged Or Something?
Ivesy replied to BenevolentImperator's topic in Halo 4
Thats a pretty awkward time period for any time zone that has a sizable halo 4 player population -
True enough but i have read some tactical stuff that basically says learn the spawn points and spam them with grenades etc which is a little different from getting someone with an ordinance weapon (although i do agree to a point about them). Ethics was always a tongue in cheek way of putting it though.

What are peoples thoughts on spawn killing? Is it an acceptable way of getting an easy kill? or just out of order? I personally try to avoid it if for instance someone appears then moves off in the opposite direction but will attack if they move towards me.

I like the map but that has happened to me a few times as well

The reality is not that many people have DLC maps. I would get them but i only go on BTB with friends and only 1 of those has DLC so its a waste of time for me at the moment. The addition of more community forge maps would be great though, i thoroughly enjoy settler.

Indeed, lets not forget ODST

I have to agree about kill times, one thing that sets halo part from COD is that it takes more than 2 seconds to kill someone so needing a little more skill. As for the campaign, it was the campaigns that consistently kept me playing all the halo games, the multiplayer needs work but hopefully it will get there. I also have to agree about ordinance drops, they are too random to be a good addition to the game and i always enjoyed going for set weapons etc.

I Have to agree the lag thing is a real issue, its killed me on numerous occasions. As for the team based variants They can be selfishly played but a team of selfish players will almost always lose to a team working together. Whenever me and some friends go on as a team the only time we lose is when playing another group playing as a team who were better or had better tactics etc. Blame people to obsessed with getting the most kills or whatever. its a real shame that less and less people are playing halo, i still really enjoy playing and whilst there are issues that need solving (the way points are awarded for one) i will continue to play as it is still by far my fav fps. If enough people feel that certain issues are to much for them to deal with why not start an online petition and send it to 343. Better an engine for change than to let the decline continue
