  1. Welcome back Bagel man. I haven't talked to you at all, but maybe we'll chat in the SB sometime, yeh?
  2. No. Starting today, you will be able to pre-download the game (assumingly after you pre-order, or purchase it). After you finish downloading the data will pretty much sit idle until November 11th: you will not be able to play the game until then. Then on the 11th the game will be unlocked, and you will be able to play the game (but a Day 1 20GB patch will need to be downloaded first). The reasoning behind this is to give people the chance to download the game early so they don't have to wait and download it on launch day. They essentially get the game the second it comes out instead of starting to download the game on the 11th. Also the game is a whopping 45GBs, and letting everyone download the game at Launch will probably put a strain on the servers (though there is still allot of people who will download on Day 1, but I'm thinking not as much as the other reality where Pre-Downloading doesn't exist).
  3. I think the general consensus is that he came face to face with a War Sphinx, or that other one that's supposedly more advanced. But we don't know for sure. 343i might have created an entirely new Construct, and we wouldn't know until more info would be released. In the MCC Trailer Locke meets with the Arbiter on a desert-like world, or landscape. Sanghelios has a yellow-red-ish hue to the atmosphere, like Halopedia says "Sanghelios' sky varies in hue from a 'BRIGHT YELLOW' to a blood red, due to large amounts of suspended particles in the upper atmosphere". Prepare for an info drop:
  4. Anyone can post news so long as you don't post news that was posted already (that's a mouthful) I saw this earlier on H4N, and it was pretty cool. I love how the Hornet still has Rockets. Not like that Troop Transport that was on Sandbox. Thanks for posting this. It's pretty interesting indeed.
  5. Today, Dan Ayoub on Xbox Wire revealed a ton of details for the Master Chief Collection. 1: Today, Friday October 17th, EVERYONE will be able to pre-download the Master Chief Collection. This is due to the game going Gold (final stages of production). Pre-purchasing on Xbox.com also gives you a bonus "Boom" Skull, though I don't know what it's attributes are. 2: Halo: The Master Chief Collection will now be released on November 11th for most areas around the world. This means the majority of Europe will now receive the MCC on the 11th, and not the 14th. There are some exceptions to this. Belgium's release is on November 12, France is on November 14, and Japan on November 13. 3: The MCC will initially need 45GBs of download space. Then on Day 1 everyone will need to download a content update that is estimated to be 20GBs. Some features like Multiplayer won't be playable until the Day 1 update is downloaded, though it is unknown if this pertains to you being able to play the game on Xbox Live, or to the MP as a whole being unplayable even offline. Dan Ayoub stated the reasoning for the large update on Xbox Wire, "From the start, our philosophy has been to give Halo fans the best possible experience and not compromise the quality or features of the collection. The result is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will take up almost all of the usable space of a single Blu-ray (45 GB), and we will also issue a content update at launch that is estimated to be 20 GB. You’ll be able to start playing Campaign and more as the content is installing, with some features and multiplayer content being added via the update. "Yes, the update is large, but we weren’t about to cut corners to save disc space. This ensures that you are getting every bit of Halo goodness we can fit in." 4: Spartan Ops will not be initially available in the Master Chief Collection due to 343 making some "technical enhancements to that experience". All 10 Episodes of Spartan Ops will release on the same day in December (though the exact date is unclear). - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thoughts? 9. Halo: Spartan Strike Game Art & Screenshots + Plot info, and other details - http://343i.org/2fy

  10. According to Gamespot, Microsoft posted a slew of Screenshots & Game Art from Halo: Spartan Strike today: following the initial Spartan Strike announcement a day or so ago. Adam91 made the post concerning the initial announcement yesterday: http://343i.org/2fx Gamespot says that Microsoft "boasts" that Spartan Strike will feature "unparalleled visuals" for a mobile game. Concerning the screenshots and images it would seem that claim could be true: Spartan Strike Game Art, and Screenshots: On a side note, the original gameplay video had 343 producer Fred LaPorte giving a basic walkthrough of the game with Ryan McCaffrey of IGN. LaPorte went on to give a brief synopsis of the game. Today, Microsoft also chimed in to give some details: [spoilerS AHEAD] Halo: Spartan Strike releases on December 12, 2014, at the price of $6, for Windows platforms: like desktop, Surface tablets, and Windows Phones. The game is also coming to Steam, and supports USB Xbox controllers. Spartan Strike players can also unlock achievements in-game to earn an exclusive emblem, nameplate, and avatar for Halo: The Master Chief Collection: similar to how Spartan Assault had ties with Halo 4. Unlike Spartan Assault, Spartan Strike WON'T have microtransactions, and everything in-game can be unlocked using in-game currency you earn. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thoughts? 11. Halo Wars Locust maybe? A Spectre from Halo 2 would also be a good fit for the Warthog. Maybe even the Prowler from Halo 3.
  12. Hellow daHOLLYxboxmastr (really creative name right ther) thanks for jumping in with us!
  13. Here's an analysis of an interesting little vehicle... The Kestrel VTOL Now what is so special about this vehicle you ask? Well there's some surprising information... 1. The Kestrel was a vehicle that was cut during early stages of development in Halo: CE. On Halopedia it is said, "Various pieces of concept art for the craft were shown in the Halo 2 Collector's Edition Disc, and the name Kestrel is also found in the Halo: Combat Evolved game code.". 2. MegaBloks released a Halo Set featuring none other than the Kestrel. Many a Halo fan became hyped that it could show up in future games: 3. THERE'S A NEW HALO GAME... well... it's nearly a Halo game... WITH THE KESTREL: Halo: Spartan Strike. The dude previewing the game was asked if it could show up in Halo 5, and he said "Uhh I can't comment on that". COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT!!
  14. Waypoint was working earlier, but now it just won't load. I like the new look though. Oh and btw I was like "WTH?" with the way you put the vid in there lol.
  15. Takanuva would like for the Gravemind to return since he's technically a character. I'd also like some action from Jul M'dama.
  16. Hey can someone put that BCAM tie thing on my sig? I've got allot of things to do, and it'd be a big help if one of you could do that for me (since one of the CMODS told me to come here).
  17. That's a little too extreme there m8. It would be called Team Fortress then, not Mafia 7.0. I have some ideas: Mafian Special Roles: Juggernaut: Takes 2 Lynches to kill. Downside is that his role is revealed the first time he's voted out. Protown Roles: Undercover Cop: His role is hidden until he gets lynched. When that happens he can choose someone who's not on the Lynch List he was on to be on the NEXT list. The Cop can choose to not do this though.
  18. This. Every time I get in a Mantis I end up becoming a walking target. I want the Mantis back. Everyone already highlighted the main points, so I don't have much to add. BUT I'd love to see the Locust in Halo 5. Would make for a good counter to the Mantis.
  19. I do agree that Halo 4 relied too heavily on outside material to flesh the story out. I myself wasn't very phased by this since I read up on the lore before Halo 4 came out. Anyway I can give you brief information on how the Storm came to be, and how Chief/Cortana knew who the Didact was (be warned that I don't know this 100%): The Storm Covenant are a fraction of the mainline Covenant who were stationed on the Elite colony world Hesduros. They have been out of contact with the main Covenant for some time, and didn't know about the Great Schism. Some of the armor the Storm have represent Hesduros organic architecture, like the Zealot Elites armor, and ship interiors. The Jackals there are also a sub-species of the Jackals we see in the previous games (like the Skirmishers and Brutes in Reach). Jul M'dama was an Elite captured by some humans and taken to the Shield World Onyx (or Trevelyan). The humans allowed him to walk around, and he ended up finding some ancient ruins (maybe Precursor. I'm not sure). A Hurogok (Engineer) then stumbled upon him, and Jul forced him into opening a portal to Hesduros. Once there he came into contact with the Storm Covenant, and spoke with the Keep Keeper there (again I'm not sure that is actually what happened), who told him about some ruins near the Keep. Jul then explored the ruins and found a map to "The Didact's World", Requiem: knowing full well who the Didact was. So he manipulated the Storm and became their leader: going on a holy mission to find and unleash the Didact on Requiem. He was known as the "Didact's Hand". After finding Requiem they orbited it for 2 years since it would not open for them... until the Forward Unto Dawn drifted towards it. Finally Chief and Cortana know who the Didact is since... well Jul M'dama was at the Cryptum when it opened. He's the Elite who neeled, and the one who shouted "DIDACT!", so Cortana, or the Chief might have heard him and picked up on it. It's reaaaaally easy to miss Jul the first time (like I did). And if they didn't hear it Cortana already has extensive knowledge of the Forerunners (as seen in the Halo: Legends: Origins) so she would most likely know who the Didact was anyway. Again I don't know this 100%. Feel free to correct me.
  20. Um... hmm. I might be able to bump it up to 4 but I don't know how the current attendees will feel about that.

  22. Sunday, November 2nd, 4 pm EST, 9 pm GMT Converter: http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc [the time is subject to change] Left 4 Dead 2 Event. Self explanatory. We'll be playing Versus for a large chunk of the Event, but I'm open to playing a different mode if the attendees want to. If we end up having less people than normal then we'll most likely just play Campaign or Versus Matchmaking. Again this is up to the attendees. 1:Say you're joining, and post your GT (if you don't have your GT below your name). I will then include you on the list. I don't care if you post things that have nothing to do with the Event on here, but please tell me if you can join beforehand before you do. 2:A few hours (maybe just an hour) before the actual time of the Event I will host a pre-party to screw around in. Send me a message, and I'll invite you. It is not mandatory to join the pre-party, so you can wait until the actual party starts, or a little after if you're a"late bloomer". If you can't join, please tell me, and I'll remove your name from the list and open a spot for joining. 3:When the time comes I will be lurking in the Shoutbox to invite people, and after everyone's in I will launch the game-night... and the shenanigans will begin!
