  1. OPERATION KNOCKOUT Operation: KNOCKOUT is a mission, storyline and event with separate characters to those of the other RP's. It requires players to sign up with a brand new character dedicated to this specific storyline. Note, players may keep their other characters and continue RPing as usual whilst still using the character for this storyline. The story takes place on the Marathon-Class Heavy Cruiser known as the 'UNSC Bite The Bullet'. It will follow the storyline of the crew of the UNSC Bite The Bullet as they are shipped out beyond the frontlines and take the fight to the enemy. The roleplay will not be constant fighting, rather it will be the day-to-day lives of the marine and naval personnel on-board the ship. Slowly as the story progresses, we'll begin to exit slipspace and thus is when the finale will come; the fight begins. You can expect such RP as training, emergency drills, combat drills, mess hall conversations (I don't mind the odd brawl) and much more. This RP is an attempt to take a look at the other and lesser known side of the life of the UNSC. There are a variety of roles players may apply for, and applications must all be done IC when applying. This event will span over a month, and some. The better your application, the more likely you'll achieve the rank you want. Looking for more information? 2. My activity will be infrequent, but I will still do my best to attend games. My time is usually spent between University work, moderating a Halo RP forum and spending time with my mates.
  3. I would join, alas my activity would be in question. Woe be upon me.
  4. Welcome to the Galaxy as we know it. The year is 2549. The Human-Covenant war has raged for two decades now. Slowly, the Humans are crumbling. The Outer Colonies are collapsing whilst the Inner Colonies are fighting a desperate campaign for survival. You, the player have the freedom to be who you wish to be. A Captain commandeering a ship, defying the Covenant on the frontlines? A CEO for a mining corporation that is harvesting Independent Space? A Spartan III in training? A civilian, police officer, marine, engineer, you name it, you can play it. You're also allowed to create several alts, given these alts are participating in separate roleplays. With this given, wide, freedom, we also expect maturity. So please, be friendly, be helpful, and be mindful. If you decide to play, have fun. The Milky Way is a Forum orientated Roleplay on an Enjin site. It was created with the purpose of giving players total freedom. For the last two months, we've been a small community that has been slowly following several different plots. Within the Milky Way you can find various interesting characters to interact with, and plots. From OPERATION: FILIBUSTER that revolves around a UNSC assault on an Insurrectionist ship, to Attack on Gorm Interstellar, following the siege of a civilian space station. Players have the freedom to create their own character as they please, and participate in whatever plot they wish to, or even create their own. We have a simple set of rules. No metagaming, powergaming or godmodding. If you don't know what these are, you best google the definitions quick smart. You cannot play as plot characters from the Halo series. (Example: John 117, Captain Keyes, Admiral Lord Hood, Sgt. Johnson, etc) Stay in Character. If you need to say something OOCly, PM the person(s). Keep it Somewhat Realistic. While the setting is Sci-Fi, remember your characters can feel pain, fatigue and all the things that affect us IRL. Things such as brawls shouldn't be unprovoked, how many times have you for absolutely zero reason punched someone in the face IRL? Never, and if you say you have, you probably have a mental condition. There is always a reason, whether the reason is stupid or not, it is still a reason, and thus the brawl was somewhat in a sense provoked. Quality and Quantity. A little effort goes a long way. Try to keep your replies several sentences long. Be descriptive of the scenario your character is in. 5. ( I had previously posted this under Halo Clan Recruitment, but thought it might not be the right section, and that 'Halo Book / Member Created Works' would be a more suiting section, rather than Clan recruitment. Sorry for any inconveniences.) Welcome to the Battle for Earth. Battle for Earth (BFE) is a forum roleplaying community on Enjin, set in the Halo universe during the final days of the Human-Covenant war. While Cairo and various other stations across Africa, Europe and the Americas have been heavily armed and ready for a fight, Asia and Australia have been undermanned, outgunned and simply outmatched. While Asia boasts a large number of military personnel, having the highest population on Earth, Australia boasts one of the smallest populations, and most isolated. Mere hours before the attack on Cairo, a battered frigate known as the UNSC Hammer exits slipspace with only a handful of survivors near Sydney's Orbital Defense Platform. It was not long after that a Covenant fleet followed suit. EMP blasts rock the stations defending the continents of Australia and Asia, preventing warnings to be sent across the orbital grid. Alone and isolated, a handful of rag-tag UNSC men and women must defend what ground they can, while they still have breath in them. While those of the Covenant go on a suicidal rampage to destroy HIGHCOM Facility Bravo-6 and severe the head of the UNSC once and for all. F.A.Q Q = Is there an age restriction? Simply, no. We look for fun, active and of course, enthusiastic RP'ers. Q = What is the timeline? Currently it is late October, 2552. The invasion of Cairo and New Mombassa has begun, and the Battle for Earth is here. Q = Can I play a Spartan or ODST? Yes, but there are requirements. We have organised a Rank system. Everyone begins at the first Rank of Private, as you RP, you have the oppurtinity to be raised in rank depending on your skill at RP. You must be a certain rank before you're capable of being a Spartan or ODST, to prove your RP prowess. The same applies for Elites, as Elites are very powerful foes and in some cases can in single combat kill a Spartan. http://battleforearth.enjin.com/
  6. For anyone interested. The invasion begins tomorrow, and the Battle for Earth begins.
  7. All characters start out as private. It isn't hard to raise in rank, if you've got the skill. Yes, it would. We're attempting to maintain a realistic approach. Keeping a system of rank helps this. People can work towards their goal, rather than just getting it on a silver platter. I find working for something much more rewarding than just receiving it.
  8. Not typically. Your current character would simply have been given permission, that being said if he had the required training. Not any private is given a tank, understandably. They're powerful things.
  9. What of them, specifically? Players are capable of commandeering tanks once they have reached the rank of Corporal. We have introduced and plan to keep this system. This is simply, and quite bluntly, to reduce poorer RP'ers from making bad choices with a lack of knowledge. We view it as this: Would you rather someone RPing in a tank who is an experienced and knowledgeable RP'er? Or someone who has just begun and doesn't know much? It sounds rude, but we mean no offence. If you're a good RP'er, raising up through ranks is VERY easy. It also helps motivate poorer RP'ers to improve themselves in RP.
  10. Then perhaps I'll attempt to peak your interest, as the main forum post is lacking.. >We attempt to maintain a realistic approach to the Halo Universe. This means not everyone is an ODST or Spartan, a lot of us are the Marines and Army Corps >We have established a Rank and Profession system. Ranks give you certain advantages and abilities. Professions are nothing more than a 'loadout' persay. Customized loudouts are a no no, for the reason we're attempting to maintain realism. I'm sure if we shipped you off to war, the Army wouldn't flip open their doors and say 'Choose at will' >We have events and missions planned for players to partake in, both Covenant and UNSC players may participate. >We'll be RPing in the weeks that are the Battle for Earth. Rather than participate in Africa, most RP is centralized around Asia and Australia, in which little is known.
  11. Do note: I plan to update this when I am not lacking sleep.
