So why did they release halo ce and 2 for pc?

I've head recently form a friend and on the internet that a new halo game will be released for PC, most likely for steam. I wanted to know if these rumours were actually true. If so, can anyone give me anymore details? e.g price, release date, e.t.c. And another thing: Why did bungie/343 never release any of the other halo games for PC? I've aways wodered this. I still play custom edition all the time! I find it so fun, especially the custom campaigns where u can play as the flood. The multiplayer I great too, and from what I've seen about 100 people are on maximum at a time, and it's still good with the custom vehicles and stuff. Although many people don't have it, you should get it if you can. Why didn't the ever make a halo 2 custom edition, though, I wonder?
