  1. my favorite map hemorrhage e (aka blood gulch) for sniping. i am a sniper strictly, so i am most effective at medium to long range engagements. now sniping is much different than other game type and is best served on a fairly straight through map with plenty of hiding places and long range between players. reflection is NOT a sniping map. neither is zealot. as a stationary sniper, it is a royal pain in the a$$ to find a good hiding spot on a CQB map. the two should not be mixed. so seeing more maps like blood gulch would be better. unfortunately, i do not want to lose that map from the play list because, first of all, i am lethal to anything with a pulse, and second, it is an absolute perfect map for all kinds of snipers. win on hemorrhage- guy on live is a smacktalker. tries to 1 on 1 me in a snipers match (8 people on game). he not only ate his words, but ate my bullets too. he quit after a while. lol
  2. i own at halo reach as a sniper

  3. a good idea for a halo 4 custom console should be something like this: the ring of light should be blue instead of green with a monitor eye design around the power button. pattern the whole exterior like forerunner metal, possibly with neon blue glow in the dark accents to the metal pattern. also, have a straight column of the little oval sequential lights like on halo machinery in combat evolved that go from the bottom of the console up through the dvd rom tray to the top. and instead of the chrome accents on the top and bottom like the other "S" model consoles, have them done in a chrome blue, similar to the chrome orange used on the disc tray of the halo 3 special edition. i think the main color should be a dark metallic grey. and have the sound effect of the power on sound like sentinel beam and have the disc tray open and close button sfx sound like a sentinel coming and going.
  4. thanks for the update. i will get my xbox 360 up to date as soon as possible
  5. hello, my name is Travis J. Spitzer. i am left handed. some of my hobbies include restoring 50's Cadillac's and 70's muscle cars, along with building scale models of such cars. another of my hobbies is making halo stop motion videos. my major interest is playing baseball. my position is first base. i am a freshmen in college and intend to play baseball, and have aerospace engineering as my major. i am 19 years old. another skill is being able to rebuild damaged xbox 360 consoles. favorite actor is will smith, and my favorite comedian is bill engvall.
  6. here's a great idea, instead of cramming everything on one disc, make the game a 2 disc set. one could have the campaign, while the other contains the multiplayer content. that would allow for major expansion on both the campaign and multiplayer. more detail and a longer campaign on disc one, and more multiplayer content and enhanced forge on disc 2. its a plus for everyone.
  7. love the back ground, if only it were a little lighter

  8. want to play reach on live

  9. i think some good improvements on the site would be, eliminate the white screen for starters. Another one would be to allow us to upload video's from our computer as well as from a URL. Another one would be to add a variety of avatar photos. And revise the header. halo cea is apparently finished, lets see some halo characters up top please. i wonder what you think some good updates would be?
  10. another good idea would be to be able to spawn larger structures such as the large beacons in the level halo and the map infinity. to make large maps better with larger structures. and be able to build underground so you can make underground tunnel systems. another would be light bridges. to bridge large gaps and generally improve the look of things. and be able to spawn human and covenant objects. that would be able to suit different people's preferences. another would be large pieces of ships instead of a whole ship. that way you could build a whole ship, or construct a crash site. and make it so objects not only have a rotational snap, but to be able to snap to other objects as well. that would make building structures easier and more efficient. and be able to make functional doors. you could put a door with a switch, or an automatic door. and connectible hallways of different designs. such as the human ones that use the square design with the airlocks or the massive forerunner hallways in halo ce. these are all object add ons of course so they are not very demanding on the game itself. and, this would make things interesting because there would be no way to tell who or what is on the other side of the door. you run to a door, hit the switch, and hello! another guy is on the other side and now you both fight to the death. that would be really fun.
  11. that's cool, i have a ****load of friends i can refer.
  12. there better be halo sound tracks put out my 343........or else

  13. at the end of halo 3, the chief is approaching an unknown planet. my guess was this was a forerunner shield world. bungie invented the forerunners but never elaborated on their origins or what happened to them. we know they were an advanced race, and we know they were in a war with the flood, and we know that they ultamately wiped themselves and the flood oout with the halos. other than that, we know nothing about them so it was a logical assumption that the chief and cortana would crash land on a forerunner and unlock the unknown past. odds are we will be introduced to a new monitor, and will probably spend most of our time fighting flood. now, the other assumption is that the chif and cortana would leave this new world in a forerunner dreadnought and with cortana piloting, take all of the new information back to earth and give it to the UNSC. now this would be an interesting ending because the UNSC thinks all of the legendary Spartan II's are dead and having the chief show up with cortana in a forerunner dreadnaught loaded with data on the forerunners would be a massive and pleasant surprise. now as for the chief, he could be reassigned to train an army of spartans in the event of another war. much like kurt 051 was the one who trained all of the Spartan III's. that would be an excellent end to the story line which bungie left open. the chief would be alive, and the commander responsible for training a new army of spartans. and another interesting and pleasant twist would be that cortana managed to use forerunner technology to be able to prevent her own rampancy and be able to give this information to ONI which would be able to use it on all new AI's and these new AI's would be able to live forever instead of only 7 years. what do you think of that?
  14. looks like a lot of experienced crew. i am extremely excited to see halo CEA and Halo 4. ive posted on numerous sites that they should remaster halo CE and got flamed on every one. who's laughing now?
  15. excited for the re release. i was a little behind on my info. couldn't find the damn newsletter.
  16. that way when you nail a squad of elites with a couple grenades or a tank shell, all that is left is a bloody crater mixed with scattered body parts. this is possible with the reach game engine. and the fact that the xbox 360's gaming potential has yet to be reached, it would be easy to make. AND NO BRUTES IN HALO CEA! they werent in the first one and they shouldnt be in the remake!

  17. mix the halo reach graphics and engine with the movements and gameplay of halo ce and throw in some new environmental effects and particle simulations and you will have one insane game! we need to have the riggings of the halo 3 flood mixed with all of the characters and made more resilient.

  18. getting set to blow **** and any nosey tourists up on the 4th of july!

  19. i dont think it is so much the characters as it is how they move and the actual terrain. i want a god aweful bloody mess when i reduce an elite's brains to wall paint. i loved it in halo ce when you would shoot an alien in the head in ce and you would have a blood surrounded bullet hole in the wall with an elite crumpled on the floor below it.

  20. i am wondering what those who were lucky enough to get a halo reach xbox 360 think of it. I want to know what people think of its design, colors, functionality, everything. i own one personally (got a hell of a deal on it. payed $300 for a brand new $400 unit) and think its far cooler than my halo 3 2007 model with the zephyr motherboard. faster, and far quieter. not to mention the HD is incredible, along with the miproved apon internal wifi and 250 GB hard drive. it will take me years to fill a portion of that. the reach console has a few extras you cannot get on the other consoles. each special edition console has had a separate feature that is completely different than any other. weather it is the outer design to specific media on the hard drive, each "special edition" is different. there are several distinctions on the reach edition that separate it from all of the others. first, its disc tray opening and closing sound is an energy shield recharging. the power on, power off sound is a halo 3 invincibility sound effect. next is the outer changes. the color is the first halo edition console that is not green, but silver. its decals are unique too because of the light silver/Grey matted color. it makes them more or less noticeable depending on the lighting. in direct sunlight when looking at it just to the side from the front, top, or back, the decals appear to be white, when looked at dead on, they look to be a darker Grey. the chrome accents mixed with the silver finish give it an unmatched and unique look that no other console has had before. an attractive look if you will. it is higher grade internally than its standard counterparts. better graphics chips and a higher grade heatsink. its silver finish allows it to run cooler because it does not retain heat like the black one does. not to mention the special editions are made more carefully and are designed to run more efficiently. the biggest difference from any other special edition ever made is how few of them were actually made. from what i learned, they were made based on total preorders and the ones that ended up on store shelves were the ones that had their preorders canceled, or the person who ordered it/ them, did not pick it up or pay it in full withing the store's holding time. the total number of them that i saw on store shelves that i saw in any gamestop, wal mart, fred meyer, or any other game system retailer totaled out to less than 10. about 5-7. they were a hell of a buy too because with everything totaled out price wise, the $300 console and controller, + the game, extra controller, headset, charge and play kit, and the DLC, came out to around $500. so $400 for everything is a hell of a buy. so tell me your honest opinion on the console. and be proud to own one because so few of them were made, they are more of a collectors item than a gaming unit. the standard "s" models, 4 gig or 250 gig, are made with less care than the halo reach consoles, or any limited edition console because of the fact that they are mass produced. the limited editions are all made with better grade parts and are made with more care than the standard consoles. i have had my halo 3 console since it was brand new and it has been fully functional for 4 years. it got the red ring once but that was an inherent issue with all zephyr mother boards and it was fixed in 2008 and has not had a problem since. the halo reach limited editions are built far better than the standards thanks to the limited number made, the higher grade parts, its external housing, and the fact that even though Microsoft built them, bungie sent them the special features and what they wanted out of it. i do not know for sure but i believe bungie previewed and tested the unit before beginning the full production. i however do not know that for a fact. I have to compliment whoever came up with the external design because it took the angular look of the "S" model, and transformed it into a work of art. i have never seen a more creative and artistic augmentation of a gaming unit in my life. the combination of the black, silver, and chrome is absolutely impressive. i see things from an artistic point of view and can only marvel at the creativity that went into the impressive combination of features.
  21. crouching is a great way to be stealth. im a sniper, and to avoid being detected, i crouch walk into position so nobody knows where i am. i also am careful not to fire too many shots, thus giving my position away. i have been crouch killed a couple times because i was sniping a tank and it requires several shots to the cockpit to kill the driver. unfortunately the sniper leaves vapor trails and with too many shots fired, can and will give your position away. and that's why ive been crouch killed. the motion tracker also attracts more players because players like myself use it to locate nearby enemies and anything coming up behind us.makes t harder to be assassinated.
  22. you have completely missed the point of the article. the halo 2 statement, was an example, not a personal preference. i personally liked the halo 2 gameplay. the ending was predictable and thats why it was bad. now, the point of the article was to explain how remaking one of the best games in history is very touchy and has a very fine line to walk on. by screwing even one thing up, that could kill the possible sales and fan base for halo 4. the 10th anniversary edition is a great idea. just focus on the gameplay of the campaign, and make most of the changes to the multiplayer experience. that is what can make or break a game 90% of the time. the article explains how remaking Halo: combat evolved is treading in dangerous waters and you should tread lightly. if you screw up the anniversary edition, the first game released by the developer, it will leave a really bad mark on your record and will cause your fan base to turn away, causing sales to drop like a rock, and giving your company a really bad reputation.
  23. The real challenge for 343 would be to be as good or better than its predecessor Bungie. a great start is to make an anniversary to the best game of all time (in my opinion) which is halo combat evolved. Even though this is a step in the right direction, i would tread damned lightly. This is a touchy concept that has a very fine line to walk on. The most changes should be on multiplayer improvement. Any deviations on the campaign could have extreme backfires that could dig 343 industries' grave. focusing on replacing the game engine and remastering the campaign. addons to the cutscenes are acceptable, as long as they stay on the story line. AN ELITE WITH DIARRHEA WOULD BE A BAD ADD ON! lol. but seriously, by possibly adding mission breifings to the cutscenes, it could allow the player to get more involved in the game. it could also fail misserably. be careful on remaking a legendary game such as halo: combat evolved because its fan base is MASSIVE. to put it in perspective, the first game put out by a new developer would have a 50/50 chance of success or failure, where as the first game put out by 343 has a fan base of MILLIONS. if you screw up the game, even just a tiny bit, it can and will piss off the fan base and with something as big as the halo fan base, you DO NOT want to piss off even a part of that fan base because it would be like digging your own grave. the developer would go down in flames and would have to do a lot of damage control to regain that fan base. halo 2 was kind of a let down. Bungie did one of the worst endings in history on halo 2 (written in XOM). they were too predictable in the ending and when the chief said "Sir, finishing this fight" followed by a cut to black. that pissed a lot of people off. fortunately, halo 3 was a decent game and all of its new features patched the holes in the fan base and attracted new fans as well. their final halo- halo: reach, was a huge hit and pleased the fan base. i went to a midnight release of halo: reach and the predicted turn out was roughly 800 people. over 1200 showed up. i was fifth in line at the gamestop and got the first limited edition handed out that night. but a 33% over predicted turn out for the game's release showed that bungie had made a massive fan base, and that is something that 343 industries has to please or things could get ugly. I personally hold the highest hopes for 343 Industries and am looking forward to their future contribution to the halo universe. they need to set the bar for the next decade of gaming and continue to expand on the fan base.
