I believe that they're just trying to push 4k as the next standard for any AAA title. Whether or not we have the technology to consistently produce and run it is irrelevant. If it's not an option, they want that to look bad for the game.

But the FIRST Xbox One was priced at 499 on Day one! Don't be fooled! Its well worth the money.

No way you can get a GTX 10 series for under #200 at this point. Hell, a stick of DDR5 ram will run you $90. The Xbox One X is very well priced for the tech that is inside it. Even just the UHD player is a good snag.
