  1. According to an article posted just moments ago at eurogamer.net, Blizzard Entertainment's WOW, aka World of Warcraft, has lost over 1,300,000 subscriber during the last three month period. This information, found in Activision's quarterly report from March 31st 2013, show the noticeable decline of users playing WOW. The author of the story also noted that Skylanders : Giants has become the best selling game in the western hemisphere! Is this actually possible? Read the original article below for yourself. Article found at : eurogamer.net World of Warcraft subscriptions drop 1.3 million in three months! Skylanders: Giants is the best-selling game in the west... if you count the figurines. By Jeffrey Matulef Published Thursday, 9 May 2013 World of Warcraft saw a decline of approximately 1.3 million subscribers in the quarter ending 31st March 2013, Activision revealed in its latest financial report. That being said, it's still the most popular subscription-based MMO on the planet with 8.3 million subscribers. Activision-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick noted that the drop in users emanated "mainly from the East, but in the West as well." Elsewhere the publisher noted that its two day sales of Starcraft 2's Heart of the Swarm expansion shifted 1.1 million copies. It also stated that the best and second-best selling titles in dollars across Europe and North America combined were Skylanders: Giants and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 respectively. Of course, it took the figurines into account with Skylanders, which is sort of like DLC without the DL part. The publisher's overall GAAP net revenue had increased to $1.32 billion this quarter over $1.17 billion during the same time-frame last year. The panda may be dying out, but it's far from endangered.

  3. In a news story recently posted by CVG Tom Ivan reports Sony's Play Station division has had a significant decrease in sales in the last fiscal year that ended on March 31st. Though the Sony itself managed a profit by earning a $435 million dollar net income that is compared to loosing nearly $4.66 billion the year before. Here is the complete story as reported by Tom Ivan below. <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>> PlayStation income sinks by £180m Decrease in PSP sales and Vita price cut blamed By Tom Ivan for CVG UK "Sony's PlayStation business has posted a notable drop in sales and operating income for the financial year ended March 31." "As expected, Sony Corporation managed to swing to a profit for the first time in five years, recording net income of £280m ($435m) compared to a loss of £3 billion a year earlier. However, the company's games business has struggled in the past year. PlayStation unit sales fell by about 12 per cent year-on-year to £4.6 billion ($7bn), largely due to softening demand for PS3 and PSP, as well as its underperforming Vita business. This led to a fall in operating income by about £180m ($280m), ending up at £11 million ($17m). Sony said the significant drop was primarily due to the handheld business, citing PSP decline and February's Vita price cut in Japan. Sony sold 16.5 million PS3s and PS2s during the financial year, down by about 1.5 million units compared to last year. Meanwhile the corporation sold 154 million home console games, down from 164.5 million. Annual Vita and PSP unit sales totalled seven million, slightly up on last year, though portable software sales declined from 32.2 million to 28.8 million. For the year ahead, Sony expects PlayStation sales to "increase significantly" due to the PS4 release. Operating income is expected to be essentially flat due to an increase in PS4 R&D and marketing expenses. Sony revealed its PS4 in February, when it confirmed a PS4 release date of "holiday 2013". Kaz Hirai is among 40 management executives at the company who will surrender their bonuses - worth up to 50 per cent of their salary - after the firm's consumer electronics business failed to turn an annual profit."

  5. Paul Pepera, a graphic artist, who recently worked for 343 Studios continues his career at Valve. He has not only produced some of the more memorable works incorporated into Halo 4, but has also worked on Red Orchestra 2 - Heroes of Stalingrad a Tripwire Interactive title and Section 8 - Prejudice a Time Gate Studios title and id Software. Here is a story by Luke Plunkett of Kokatu. Thanks for all your creative work Paul! Having Helped Build Halo 4, He's Now Building Worlds At Valve by : Luke Plunkett/Kokatu I like to think of Paul Pepera's art as the realisation of childhood dreams. Rendering what we imagined our LEGO constructions to be in our heads, not as they actually looked, all clunky and basic and sharp. Now an artist at Valve, Pepera has also worked at places like 343 Studios, id Software and Timegate, on projects such as Halo 4, Section 8 and Red Orchestra 2. There's a selection of his 3D work below, but to see more you can head to his personal site and CGHub page.

  7. Able as I read you MOM post I realized yet again what a truly humble and dedicated member, forger and THFE staff member you are. We are grateful for all of the THFE staff for being part of the forum and you sir do the entire THFE group proud.
  8. Seriously....you call that some kind of excuse?
  9. For continuously bumping or having clan members bump your thread it will now be locked and no further recruiting will be permitted via a new thread. Nice video by the way!
  10. It is good that confront your addictions head on. Publicly announcing that you have a problem is the first step in the right direction. Here at Forgeaholics Anonymous we will walk you through a multi step program that will help you to help yourself. You may begin by submitting your forge creations to THFE and call the doctor in the morning.
  11. Abe.....what can I say. I have gotten to know you pretty well since our partnership with THFE and know how deep your dedication has been to forge, especially Dominion. I am proud to see the staff note your qualities in such a fashion and know you will wear the color of pink like a real man! Enjoy!
  12. orangedrone I am locking your submission thread. Clearly you have had time to consider the constructive criticism offered and take it to heart. Instead you have turned a simple submission thread to a specific YouTube channel into a fine example of how not to act. Kudos!
  13. Welcome to the community Mick. Good to see some new members jumping right into the forum!
  14. Why not post links to your file share to make it easier for member to view them?
  15. This is a fan based site TangentSpy. If you are certain it is the game and not the XBOX 360 you use, try contacting XBOX Live Support for assistance. The simple fact is that sometimes a product does fail and the only recourse is a receipt. If you have an account at EB games or used a credit card for the purchase, this would provide the proper 'paper trail' needed for proof of purchase. Select the link above in cyan.
  16. Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy your time here. Noticed the 'THFE' stamp in your introduction title.....are you associated with them?
  17. I am happy to see "DD" getting involved with the forge community even deeper. These guys are the best and they deserve all the respect and support we can offer them. Redemption is clearly one of those forgers who has the talent, great personality and a genuine desire to advance his skill and understanding of forge. Nice interview guys.
  18. I needed a break and so I grabbed the girls and headed south to my home island to get a tan. I needed to feel the sand between the toes and roast like a nice steak in the sun for hours on end. Man do I miss the beach. I will be back soon, well........as soon as I run out of sun tan oil. Enjoy the photos. From the "Skyway Bridge" on the way home. My home island beach across from the house.
  19. We have announced both 'Runner Up' maps at this point for the "Meet Your Maker" forge contest hosted by 343industries.org and THFE and supported by The Halo Council's own Warholic. http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/27581-the-meet-your-maker-results-thread/

  20. Maybe those of you who bought the LE Edition from 343 Industries have learned your lesson about paying so much for something the actual game company gives away to compensate for bringing an unfinished game to market and sells piece meal for additional profit. It actually used to mean something to buy a 'Special Edition' or 'Limited Edition' Halo game. Not any more. I do feel your pain and anxiety over this OP and all others affected by it.
  21. I think I could have won the 'Easter Word' contest had I not been selected as a judge. http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/27532-the-343-community-forums-easter-contest/?p=254021
